Less than a half mile to beautiful city park, two & a half mile to historical French Quarter. Grocery store, Chinese restaurant, and other shopping options a few blocks away.
Quaint place, I try to keep it tidy as possible A shopping center down the street, easy 5-minute walk & a bus stop around the corner.
Built cira 1983, this quaint neighborhood is full of flavor, character, friendly neighbors, & easy access to many conveniences. Being right in-between the river, lake & near city park this location offers a great opportunity to explore an array of options of hidden jems often over looked by many who limit their selves to the usual tourist hots spots of the French Quarter, Bywater, or uptown area. Regarding safety, crime maps & statistics have shown this is area to has significantly less crime than the French Quarter ,Bywater, & Uptown areas. All except for a few occasional neighborhood holiday parties, this is one of the quietest neighborhood & I have never had any problems otherwise.
  • Everything was very chill, the bed is really comfortable and the room is nice. He also has a bunch of cool stuff in the room, like random books and comics.

  • Jonathan was really great at working on our schedule, since we were planning to arrive late and leave early on our trip, and was very easy to get ahold of if needed. The room was clean and could comfortably fit two, and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. Jonathan was very friendly, and even lent us two bikes for our stay!

  • Friendly hosts, nice neighborhood and comfortable room! Felt very cozy and secure and had a great time. Bus stop is near, and if you follow the schedule, it's very easy to get to all parts of the city.

  • Great location. Creative and eclectic decor. Jonathan was a great host, awesome communication.

  • We had a pleasant time during our short stay at Jonathan's. We were out most of the time so i only talked to Jonathan once when we first checked it. He was very informative about the sightseeing and attractions in New Orleans for newcomers like us. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom and very interesting decorations :) . The area was kind of intimidating as first for a suburban girl like me but it wasn't haft as bad. It was 10 mins away from the French quarter without entering the freeway, it's an amazing deal given the price ! I'd definitely stay again at Jonathan's next time when I'm in town !

  • Great and friendly host! I would definitely stay there again!

  • We had a great time staying here! Jonathan was super friendly and helpful! The location was perfect for us as we didn't want to be right in the centre of the city! The room was exactly as described and very clean! The bed was super comfy!

  • Jonathan was a great host and his house and the room we stayed in were so cute! We only saw him a few times but he offered us recommendations and was open to helping us make our trip to New Orleans great! Would definitely stay with him again!

The cottage is charming, older-- Not Modern. Beautiful area. City Park, Jazz Fest & Pub. trans. 1 mi. from French Q, wkg dist. to stores, restaurants & bayou. 2 bdrms, 1 bath and a porch. For quiet folks. No parties and sock-feet, please. A pup’s in the yard, so please close the gate. Park between driveways on street, so you're not towed. I am not respon. for the loss of electric power or acts of nature that effect the stay here. No hairdryers. Sorry. If key is lost $50.00 fee. :)
No electric hairdryers I'mm so sorry to say. It blows the "fuse." There are New Orleans touches including a wonderful front porch. The two bedrooms are on the top floor with the bathroom and the bottom floor has the kitchen and living room with a big sofa. The beds and the sofa are quite comfy. I seek gentle respectful guests. No parties, please. I'm a friendly artistic teacher and entrepreneur. My street and neighborhood are beautiful and convenient to many things--even by foot. Street parking only. There's intentionally no television but there is internet so you can stream!
The neighborhood is one of the best in New Orleans in terms of beauty and locale. You're right in the center of everything--- shaded by oaks. City Park is beautiful and is just blocks away. It houses the New Orleans Museum of Art and the sculpture garden that is one of the best in the country. Walking distance (about 4 blocks) are 5 restaurants-- all reasonably priced on Esplanade Ave. There are also two small family-owned grocery in the vicinity. You can take the trolley (walking distance) from the museum to uptown and pass along St. Charles Avenue with the universities and mansions-- ending up downtown and then can walk around downtown or do a return trip. We are one mile from the French Quarter and Frenchman St. Huber or Lyft is best--especially at night. I recommend the free blue bikes for rides if the weather is cool during the day.
  • Susan was excellent to communicate with - always responded within a few hours. The house is located such that you could walk to the French Quarter or parks (within a few miles) if you wanted. The bedrooms were done up nicely - towels were provided. The space was clean and tidy when we arrived. Would recommend staying here if asked.

  • Susan was very nice, easy to reach and offered any help we needed! A perfect host! The place was lovely and not at all far from key locations. Would definitely book with Susan again

  • Susan was a such a nice, friendly and helpful host When we needed medical help she looked for some doctors in New Orleans. She let us use her kitchen when the electricity did not function. I recommend everybody to stay at her house.:)

    Fabian2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great host- Susan was very quick with her responses whenever we had a question. Home was very quiet and clean and walking distance from a grocery store, and a quick uber from anywhere in the city. Hope to come back soon!

  • Susan's home is in a lovely safe location. Pretty neighbourhood, with bars and restaurants and shops. Bus to downtown is not very frequent, the street car is a bit further to walk. We opted for bicycles which were perfect as we were able to move in the evenings from the French Quarter and to take in more of the residential streets during the day. The house was comfortable but it is an older property coming with its own charms and downsides. Another reviewer mentioned a musty smell, which is only faint and only on first opening the door. But the lovely scent of jasmine outside was great. Susan is welcoming, although we were most of the time out and about and only had chance for a few conversations.

*Please read description fully; this room is NOT 100% PRIVATE, it shares a door with the tenant of the home* Loft bed sleeping situated in a shotgun style room in a shared BNB. Located on historic "Esplanade Ridge" with Free Bikes and Full Kitchen
THE HOUSE OF SWEET DREAMS Hi, and welcome! I'm Alex, Glad you found my listing! Here is a list of all the useful info about the house: **Pricing Fluctuates During Seasons** ***This is NOT a 100% PRIVATE room.*** ***This house is in typical New Orleans style; a "shotgun house" where some rooms share a door and walk through path to other parts of the home. This means you will have tenants of this house walking through the room during your stay. "Le Peach Parlor" is decorated as an environment for you to feel welcome and at home with a loft bed and small sitting area.In the bedroom, you can control your own heating / cooling. This listing is for a full sized loft bed with staircase, in the "living room" (a space used in this shotgun style home to commute between rooms). You have privacy curtains in the loft for sleeping late and being more comfortable. There is plenty of storage space in the loft for your belongings. ***Alex and 8 year old Daughter Vivian are the residents here. They live in the front of the home and with whom you share their home, including bathroom and kitchen as well as the other bnb room we have. When you book with us, you are agreeing to share your space with us :) Check in after 3pm Check out before 11am Also note that you're welcome to check in anytime after 3pm, please come and make yourself at home :) take out the bikes, or lounge around, (if you're going to take a nap and/or you've checked in before the room has been cleaned, please message us to indicate when we can clean!) thanks again and see you soon!
The house is in the Historic "Esplanade Ridge" Close to the "French Quarter/Bourbon St." Downtown and the Historic Marigny Neighborhood/ Frenchman Street. A quiet and safe neighborhood where we know all of our neighbors and everyone looks out for one another, with families and young entrepreneurs dotting the area with eclectic bars, eateries and shops. The house is just a few blocks away from the fairgrounds, coffee shops, several good restaurant, and a small grocery store. A couple more blocks and you are near The New Orleans Museum of Art and City Park! The Superdome is a 10 minute bike ride away and only 1 mile to the French Quarter down beautiful Esplanade Ave. Commonly sought after attractions within 2 miles of the house are: Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, Superdome, French Quarter, Louis Armstrong Park, City Park, DBA, Cafe du Monde, French Market, Spotted Cat, Cafe Negril, Blue Nile, The Maison, Apple Barrel, Coop's Place, Mardi Gras Zone, Mimi's in the Marigny, All Ways Lounge, and the Bywater, Marigny, 7th Ward, and Treme neighborhoods.
  • Overall, a very decent place to stay! Yes, it's not as bright as in the pictures, and also maybe a little small than what it appears in pictures, but it's still a very decent room with a lot of personality and definitely adds a little culture to your stay trip while in New Orleans. We found the bed to be comfortable and it was also not a problem at all that Alex and his daughter would need to cross the room to get to the kitchen. They were very friendly and gave us all the privacy. Since the bed is on the higher level, and there are curtains, you still get the privacy in case you're sleeping in so that was really great. Since we can't lock the room, we had concerns about our stuff and valuables being out, but honestly once I got there, I felt safe about it and had no issues having our stuff out. Noise was not a problem. There are fans in the room, a/c, and heat so that made the nights extra comfortable. The bathroom is just right outside of the room and is shared, but once again we didn't have any issues with waiting to use the bathroom or it being dirty or lack of hot water or anything! We used the bikes in the shed and that was an absolute great amenity to have because the downtown area is about 2 or so miles from the house so about a 15 min bike ride. Uber would be $5-10 depending on time of day and if you walk it takes about 40 mins. The location of the place is quite safe, but there are areas around to be careful in so stay on the main streets if you decide to walk or bike. The only real issue we had with our stay here was communication with Andrew being a bit difficult because he was out of the country. I contacted him a couple times before our stay and once I got what seemed like a generic reply not addressing my question and also the replies were a bit slow. Alex was very kind to answer our questions and address concerns when we had them DURING our stay so that was very nice, but I would have liked Andrew to be more involved in that aspect. For example, when we arrived for check in, there was no key in the black box to get in the house. Luckily, the door was unlocked and Alex was home, but if that wasn't the case Andrew would have been difficult to reach and we would have had trouble getting inside. Besides this, our overall stay was really very nice and comfortable and I'd definitely stay here again if I had the option to if I visit New Orleans again. Thanks for allowing us to stay at the peach parlor!

    Diti2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew wasn't in town for our arrival, but made it an extremely easy process by providing a house manual that described how to access the house, parking, etc. At first, we were a little disappointed by the location because we were not as close to the French Quarter as we had expected, BUT when we were greeted by the permanent tenants, Alex and Vivian, we fell in love. Two of the most generous and sweetest humans in the world! We will certainly be going back to visit this dynamic duo. And it turns out that the French Quarter is just a short drive or bike ride away. (We didn't use the bikes because it was raining!) I guess since this review is supposed to be about the place and not the people, I should also say that Le Peach Parlor is well kept and has so much charm. Don't be worried about people walking through the room you stay in. The tenants are very respectful of your space and privacy. The bed is clean and comfortable, and we didn't want to leave!

    Morgan2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • All the accommodations as described in the description were available to us. Although the room isn't private, we felt we had a ton of privacy and felt comfortable. The bikes were such a great addition to the stay were able to get around with ease in the day time without having to rely on lyft or Uber which provided us freedom to do a lot of things. The French quarters is only about a 12min ride. Andrew wasn't actually there but Alex his roommate made sure we had everything we needed to be successful and his daughter Vivan was a joy to meet. I highly recommend this jewel of a place.

    Olivia2016-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely time at this place! Everything was labeled (key box, heater, etc.) with instructions, which was very helpful.

    Caitlin2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • New Orleans is an incredible, lively city and staying at Coco & Andrew's mirrored the city perfectly. It's wild, colourful, impactful, lively and full of love - the BEST way to end our Southern Road trip. We don't want to give too much away about this place, as it is something you MUST experience - however, We will say this : when we visit New Orleans again, we would 100% stay here. And only here. ANNNNND the free bikes kick ass.

    Brandon2013-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised - very thorough on the details.

    Martha2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Andrews home. Everything was just as stated in the airbnb listing. Shortly after arrival I was greeted by Alex and his daughter Vivian. They were lovely, and I believe were the only ones who needed to pass through my room to get to other areas of the house. This was completely fine for a short stay. The home was very cozy and clean.

This 600 sq ft cozy mini-apartment is part of a larger cottage. It comes with a kitchen. We’re located one mile from the French Quarter and near Bayou St. John, a gorgeous area. It's a humble sweet space with a bedroom with a double bed as well as smaller room with a single bed. It’s attached to the lgr part of the house, but is separate. Entrance thru alley way to the left of house. Shower is small and awkward. Also, if you’re allergic to cats or dogs this may not be the best apt for u.
The space is humble and bare bones but is sweet and cozy. It’s located in a beautiful area.
My neighborhood is gorgeous with beautiful trees and houses and a nearby bayou. There are also an array of restaurants and small food stores within comfortable walking distance for most folks. There is a nearby bus stop and a trolley as well. Still, nothing is more convenient then having a car or going by Lyft/Huber.
  • The apartment is perfect for a funny weekend in the Crescent City. Susan is an amazing host!

    Federica2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what we needed during our stay in New Orleans. We were looking for a place that was close to attractions that didn't break the bank, especially since we wouldn't be spending much time there. Sue's place worked for our needs, as others have mentioned the shower is small and you could hear others upstairs but it worked for us. There isn't a tv but the wifi worked great for us so we didn't need anything else. Sue was very responsive and offered great suggestions to try as well. We had a wonderful weekend and loved our time!

    Kelly2019-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as described, very homey. We made a mistake reserving our dates, however Susan was accommodating, which we were very grateful for.

  • Excellent location for Voodoo Fest. Great value for close walking distance. Sue was an excellent host, very considerate and communicative.

  • This place is perfect for people who want a comfortable place to relax and rest in between trips around town. It’s in a great part of town that is only a five minute ride from nearly all parts of the city.

    Logan2019-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place was bigger that I was expecting. Very accessible, and 8 minutes away from the French Quarter. The apartment is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. My only issue was the shower because it has not much privacy, other than that everything was fine!!

    Edgardo2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place is just as advertised. It’s very comfortable, decorated with cool art and an array of interesting books. But actually the place is larger than it looks in the pictures. The neighborhood is one of my favorites in the world with great cafes, a few bars and a short walk to the street car , City Park , New Orleans Museum of Art and the race track

    Mario2019-05-07T00:00:00Z

    Eric2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Met expectations, nice place away from all the noise in the downtown areas. The house was close to two major bus stops, it was very convenient to use that instead of Uber.

    Elizabeth2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Leonor and Brandon were very quick with responses if you have any questions. The check-in process was simple and this is a perfect place for a couple’s getaway. It was less than a $15 uber into town which was perfect for us. We hope to be back again!

Lots of light! Eccentric, unique, modern, beautiful architecture, Large open studio, shared semi private space, really nice air mattress with dresser an desk overlooking looking a beautiful view of city an Bayou st your bedroom is open to living room so it’s more like a hotel Suite. My rm is on other side blocked by curtain so despite being a studio you’ll definitely have your privacy the back of the place is all yours. I only really use half the kitchen, living rm section is reserved for you.
The back of the studio is completely yours including living room, the bedroom can not be seen from front door, like a hotel room suite. We do share a bathroom and I only use half the kitchen to respect your privacy. My bedroom is on the other side of kitchen blocked off by a curtain so their is a lot of space between.
Walking distance to EVERYTHING! Canal st st car line in about five blks up, it leaves from cemetery’s to Quarter and uptown, really nice ride. Two grocery stores, coffee shop an wine bar on property, wrong iron a cool new outside pet friendly bar next door. Bike rentals, greenway that takes you straight to quarter. About a ten min bike ride. I however would not suggest riding the bike back late at night intoxicated it can be alittle sketchy on greenway late at night I would def Uber, Lyft back or Canal st car. Also I work close to Fq so if you need a ride back home around 11pm from the French Quarter I’m happy to pick you up during the week m-fri.
  • An amazing place to stay! Prime spot within walking distance to so many awesome places. Chrissy was super friendly and the perfect host - gave us tips and suggestions and even offered to take us places we were unfamiliar with! Would recommend this place to anyone.

    Megan2019-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Chrissy was a wonderful host. She has great recommendations & goes above and beyond. Cool space to spend time in

    Kelsey2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was very disappointed with our stay. We were told we could only enter through a shop adjacent to the apartment complex b/c she didn't want the apartment manager to know she was Air BnB'ing. Additionally, this is a studio apartment, so all noise can be heard throughout the apartment. That being said, she brought someone home on our last night and they were talking, making food, and watching TV at 2 am. I was awake for 1.5 hours while this all was happening. This was very disrespectful to us.

    Christian2019-06-14T00:00:00Z

  • Chrisat was such an amazing host! She has such a chill and friendly personality. The location was a 7 minute Uber from the French Quarter, which I loved. The air mattress (which is really like a big full size air bed) was comfortable and exceeded my expectations. She was super helpful with recommendations. She was also just super nice overall!

The Bayou St John neighborhood, and more specifically we are near the Fairgrounds neighborhood, is one of the most sought after areas in town due its close proximity to several main attractions in New Orleans. Bayou St John is 1 block away with it's calm, serene water and grassy banks, kayak and paddle board rentals, people walking their dogs, jogging, or picnicking. We may have a kayak for use on the bayou, please check with me. It's a hidden gem used mostly by locals and has a charming walking bridge (no cars) which is amazing for watching the sunset with a bottle of wine. It's another spot that's perfect for people watching before and after Jazz Fest since many people walk across the pedestrian bridge. There is no swimming allowed. Jazz Fest!!! - a lovely 5-10 minute walk past house parties, music, and excited festive people! You'll walk 2 blocks toAccess to all areas except other 2 bedrooms. One is mine, one is a roommate. Be sure and wear your coolest hat, have sunscreen, and you’re allowed to bring in 1 bottle of unopened water. They will look in your bag and don’t allow any alcohol brought in. A brass pass for all 7 days can be shared, and allows you to exit and enter as you like! Makes it great to walk home and nap or recharge. It is always held the last weekend of April and first weekend of May, which can get in the 80’s during the day. You can also buy 1 weekend tickets, or daily tickets online or at the gate )a bit higher). The Fairgrounds Racetrack and Slots - where Jazz Fest is held, the racetrack has it's big opening Thanksgiving day, where locals dress up in their best creative, funky, fancy, or original outfits and hats. (It is not the Kentucky Derby!). There are also zebra and llama races (yes), with live music on occasion. 2020 Mardi Gras is Tuesday, February 25. There are parades leading up to it for a few weekends before. Parade Schedule: https://www.mardigrasneworleans.com/parades/ Mardi Gras parade locales- there is a smart phone app to check parade schedules or checking online sites, you'll see most parade routes are Uptown, extending horizontally across the city, south of us, along St Charles Avenue. These will go down parts of Canal St, near the French Quarter. A good distance on foot from here. One large (best) one is here right by our home, Endymion. Mardi Gras day - getting to the French Quarter and Frenchman St early is great to see all the amazing costumes! Before they start to...fall apart. Best to take an Uber or Lyft. Plan your bathroom needs and intake carefully, therefore your costume! There can be long lines, and public urination is a big no-no. The party all ends at midnight on Bourbon Street, this street closes. Obey the police always. Endymion Parade - a 15 walk to the biggest Mid City Mardi Gras celebration, and one of the best parades of the season! A great, fun day right here. Food, drink, bathroom, and fun. Perfect! Always parades the Saturday right before Mardi Gras Tuesday. There are festivities all day long along the parade route; a few stages and live music, house parties, and people hanging out. It is for all ages! They are very generous with their throws! You can bring a chair (I have a few to loan), find a spot, and sit and people watch if you like! And you have a home base here nearby. There is also a smart phone app to find toilets for 'rent' along the parade routes should you get in a jam! This can be a very important concern; plan ahead and pace your intake! Lines can be long, some places require a purchase to use the facility. Voodoo Fest - City Park is about 10 minute walk! The fest is within the park. Wear a costume or accessorize up and down! And there are lots of Halloween activities around town. City Park - is a 10 min walk to the entrance, and is huge! The famous Cafe du Monde for cafe au lait and beignets is there, maybe 15 min walk. The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) and the awesome Sculpture Garden are a must see, set in moss covered-trees and little bridges over the waterway running through the park. Feeding the ducks and swans is allowed. Many other activities here; their website has more details. Canoe, kayak, paddle boat, a gondola, and multi-person bike rentals. A lake, frisbee golf, putt putt golf, spring and fall outdoor concerts, outdoor exercise gym and walking paths, stables, great tennis courts, soccer fields, a dog park, and a neat hiking forest. Bayou Boogaloo - held in the spring along the banks of Bayou St John, this amazing live music, arts, and food festival has grown larger every year! It is still free to the public, and you'll see the bayou filled with creative boats, flotation devices, and a few man-made temporary islands! 5-10 min walk to the beginning of the bayou, about a 10-15 min scenic walk from here to the festival grounds and stages. Several restaurants and eclectic coffee shops, a wine shop/bar, two local friendly grocery shops, an upscale salon and bike rentals are 2-3 blocks away. A bit further are many more restaurants, an iconic ice-cream parlor, snow-ball stand, laundromat, more grocery, post office, urgent care, and more, all nearby. Several great neighborhood bars to watch sports or enjoy trivia nights. Audubon Park and Zoo - Uptown, 4.5 miles from here, 35 mins by bike. 18 mins by car. Is a wonderful zoo with animals in natural-themed habitats. Great Cajun and alligator/swamp exhibit! The park is huge and absolutely beautiful, and has a large golf course. Is near the university campuses, Tulane and Loyola.

  • Atmosphere 5 out of 5. Warm, Welcoming, and Friendly. Gi, the host, was so nice and accommodating, she really made us feel like family. Amenities 5 out of 5. The room was spacious, cozy, and clean. The sauna downstairs was a lifesaver after a night out on the town and Gi was a wealth of information when it came to local attractions, restaurants, and things like that. P.S. There is a cute dog named Buckles who will steal your heart and loves bellyrubs.. Location: 4 out of 5. The Airbnb was within walking distance of a handful of restaurants and bars and a short drive to the French Quarter. Overall. 4.5 out of 5 Gi was amazing, she made us feel at home and I would definitely stay their again.

The entire suite is yours to enjoy. You immediately enter into the galley kitchen which is fully equipped should you choose to cook-up your own meals, which then opens up to the studio room with queen bed, coffee bar, table for two, Smart TV, non-operating fireplace, and a lovely transom that lets in the flickering light of the gas lantern just outside your door. The full bath features a beautifully tiled shower, modern glass vanity, and all the amenities you will need during your stay.
Located just across the street from the racetrack and home to the world-famous JazzFest at the end of April and beginning of May each year! We’re also closely located near City Park, The Bayou, and many Mid-City attractions while still only a short distance by bike or ride to the French Quarter, Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and Smoothie King Center.
  • 5 stars does not do this place justice. Absolutely amazing little place with little touches around every corner. Decorated beautifully and the place is just wonderful. Cody and Leo are also just fabulous and will make sure you have a wonderful time. You feel like you’re in your own little hotel. They even have 2 bikes for you to take out which are amazing. Would come back in a heartbeat. The area is also super local with cool restaurants about .2-.3 miles in each direction. Definitely very local spot

  • Place was clean , great location . No complaints!

    Charles2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Where do where I start?! Cody and Leo’s place is perfect! We loved the space! Cody was very responsive before and during our stay. We arrived in NOLA a few hours before check in and wanted to get to exploring right away! Cody allowed us to have a early check in, which was awesome! We settled in and hopped on the bikes to explore the city! We would give Cody and Leo’s place a 10/10, honestly 11/10! It was perfect! The bed was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing in bed and watching tv after a long day of exploring. We had many streaming services to choose from (Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, HBO)! The bathroom/shower is as good as every other review says! We LOVED the ceiling shower head and even talked about installing our own at home. The bathroom was stocked with towels! Cody and Leo also stocked the fridge with drinks for free! We were not expecting that extra touch and were very thankful! We felt like we were at a hotel, but definitely a more cozy feel than a hotel. The bikes were our favorite part of the trip. New Orleans is a city to definitely explore on bikes! Cody and Leo’s place is about a 10 minute bike ride from French Quarter. We recommend taking Esplanade Ave to the Quarter. The street is covered in beautiful oak trees. We would 100% recommend Cody and Leo’s space to our family and friends! We did not get the pleasure of meeting Cody, but did run into Leo while waiting for an Uber! Leo was very kind and wished us both a great day. Thank you Cody and Leo! We enjoyed our time in New Orleans and your home is beautiful! To future guests - our favorite restaurants were Dian Xin (Dim Sum in the French Quarter and Cochon! Highly recommend both!

  • The apartment is a clean, quiet and cozy little corner in the world that was hard to leave. The hosts are responsive and make the experience seamless from beginning to end. It’s a great spot if you don’t want to stay in the French quarter but want easy access to both tourist spots and local spots.

    Jessica2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great small space when you’re not looking for much for a good price! Very convenient location and the bikes were a nice touch! Definitely adding to the favs!

    Jacob2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space! So beautifully decorated and designed. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever had while traveling! Fully functional kitchen is helpful so you don’t have to eat out for every meal. Perfect for 2 people. We did end up spending a lot of money on Uber’s so if you are not driving keep the location in mind. Had a lovely time and absolutely will be back!

    Alicia2019-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying at Cody’s! Such a comfortable bed, great shower, and tv. It was a perfect place to come back to after a long day of exploring. We loved using the bikes to check out some of the spots Leo and Cody recommended. Located in such a cute neighborhood and easy drive to the French quarter. They also have such thoughtful touches - we wished we could have stayed longer!

Freshly renovated private suite in Fairgrounds neighborhood. Includes a comfy queen size bed, private bath, private entrance, sitting room with mini frig and coffee maker, access to back yard, laundry available upon request. Walking distance to public transportation and local restaurants. 2.5 miles from French Quarter. Walking distance to City Park. Quiet street in a residential neighborhood. No kitchen access unless arranged in advance. Bike rentals and tours can be arranged.
Newly renovated and freshly painted. Private room with rear entrance behind gated back yard. Bedroom features a comfy queen size Hampton & Rhodes mattress with pillow top mattress cover. Access to a reading room/library with mini frig and coffee maker. Private bath with shower/tub. As an additional note, a couple of the reviews mention the shutter doors that allow sound to travel. I have recently replaced them and installed SOLID wood doors on the guest bedroom as well as my bedroom, so this should not be an issue any longer.
Very quiet one way street in a safe neighborhood. Short walk to City Park, Bayou St. John, public transportation, great restaurants, etc. Plenty of on street parking. 2.5 miles from French Quarter.

  • Ron was very welcoming and accommodating. He was willing to address our special request ( let us park in his garage). A great place to stay for a budget traveler. We were pleased to find bottles of water and mandarins waiting for us on arrival.

The house itself is very clean, the room fully corresponds to the description and photos, shower, toilet and kitchen are in the common parts of the house and are always available.

    Nina2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We were so happy with Ron's place because we had a whole private living space to ourselves, complete with private bath, private entrance and a small fridge and coffee maker. Ron is a gracious host who has put a lot of thought into making his guests comfortable like night lights, snacks, and other conveniences.

License #18STR-11394 Our small studio is attached to the back of our house, is separated by a locked hallway door, and is accessed from the side yard. We are in a quiet, not touristy, historic neighborhood called Parkview, which is close to City Park and Bayou St. John (Jazz Fest). We do not recommend walking to the French Quarter. There are streetcars and buses around the corner that will take you there. It’s also a cheap cab/ride share. And there’s a bike share station nearby.
The studio is small and has a desk, queen bed, walk-in shower, whirlpool, mini fridge, coffee maker, mini-split AC and heat, 30" TV, and a reading chair. The whirlpool heats the water only when the jets are on. Our home is a traditional New Orleans shotgun and is about 100 years old. The studio is an addition to the house. We don’t know when. The bathroom was updated soon after the storm. You are welcome to enjoy our yard space too. There’s a cafe table and chairs, fire pit, and a bench.
Our little neighborhood is called Parkview. Its classified as historical because of the architecture. There’s a mix of home owners and renters, people of all ages, life long residents and newcomers. We make eye contact and greet everyone we pass by, and all of New Orleans is like that. The location is close to City Park and Bayou St. John. We saw an alligator in City Park the other day. The bayou and park are great places to go for a walk or get some exercise. You can get beignets and cafe au lait at Morning Call in the park and see interesting birds. Ours is not a high-density neighborhood, but one can still walk to great restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, shops, and public transit.
  • I came with my husband to stay with Matt and his family and it couldn't have been more special. The space is so lovely and quaint! Felt like being in a cozy space where you felt at peace. And to top it off the location was so convenient to get around and explore! We loved this house and our time there. Highly recommend!

    Camille2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. Matt leaves little extras that really make a difference. The street is very narrow if your not familiar with the city so if you have a large vehicle parking can be a little tricky. Otherwise the location, comfort and convenience is the best.

    Nikki2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is unexpected jem in NOLA. No kitchen but cozy and sweet place for 1-2 person. You can take the tram to downtown.

    Hyunsuk2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good lactation while staying in New Orleans. Matt was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone

    Andy2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very small cute stay, the hot tub was the highlight of the apartment. The bed squeaks a bit but other than that very clean & cute place.

    Marisela2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • W O W!! The room, host, and neighborhood could not have been better. The room has locked private entry. A private bath which includes shower with a raised slatted wood flood AND a glorious hot tub. Towels and soap and shampoo were provided, as well as a coffee pot. The bed and bedding were clean and super comfortable. Matt and Dana had actually baked some cookies and supplied a couple of local brews in the mini fridge. The communication was easy and the vibe was nothing but welcoming. It's an awesome neighborhood. Steps away from a couple restaurants, a good dive bar and the trolley. It's a simple few block stroll to City Park. CITY PARK IS A MUST DO. In a few words, the place outdid my expectations tenfold and I'd definitely stay again if back in town. The only disappointment was the hot tub does not double as a time machine:-(

    Matt2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • First time visiting NOLA and Matt's place was a great place to stay. Nice area of the city, close to restaurants and just a quick uber ride or streetcar ride to the French Quarter.

    Shannon2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location and incredible responsiveness from Matt on our every question and request. I highly recommend this place and will look to stay here again next time we visit New Orleans.

Welcome to New Orleans! Our home is located in the 7th Ward, one of the more walkable neighborhoods in NOLA. Our guest room & bath is available to visitors, in addition to a shared kitchen & living room. We are nestled in between the Fairgrounds (famous for horse racing, gambling, & Jazz Fest) & the Tremé (notable & historic neighborhood where jazz was born). A 25 min. walk (5 min. drive) will land you at the top of the French Quarter or at the entrance of City Park.
Our home is a recent renovation & guests will have a private bedroom with access to the guest bathroom (all yours during your stay). The bedroom includes a full bed & a TV equipped w/a Roku stick so you can access Netflix! Space in the refrigerator is also available to guests in case you want to store drinks/snacks/leftovers.
The 7th Ward is predominantly residential, but with easy access to the Marigny, the Tremé, the French Quarter, Bayou St. John, Mid-City, & the Fairgrounds. There are a few intimate local coffee shops, restaurants, & bars within walking distance should you be looking for more of a "neighborhood vibe". If seeking out a more vibrant scene, you can easily access the French Quarter & Frenchmen Street via a 20-25 minute walk or 5-10 minute Lyft/Uber ride. During Mardi Gras, we are within walking distance of the Endymion & Zulu (our personal favorite) routes.
  • Kelly is a very welcoming host. The house is Very Clean, comfortable and relaxing space within a short distance to many attractions. I will stay there on my future visits.

On recommande ++++++

One mile to French Quarter, walking distance to Jazz Fest, king size bed, claw foot tub, hard wood floors on a small neighborhood street in the Bayou St John Neighborhood. Place is intended for singles or couples willing to respect my neighbors after 11 P.M.
This great neighborhood makes walking in any many directions worthwhile, it's easy to walk to Cafe Degas, The Broad Theatre, even City Park. I am also steps away from a neighborhood corner store for late night snack runs. I have an always shifting display of paintings in the space, so repeat visitors will see changes. The claw foot tub is perfect for a good soak or a quick shower.
Pretty and quiet with some street noise possible at night. Considered a safer neighborhood in New Orleans but I do lock my doors.
  • This place is great. Very cosy space with plenty of privacy. I was working on a paper and it was the perfect place to stop and slow down in the middle of my trip. There are plenty of nice cafes around the area too. The local area is nice and leafy. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back.

    Fleur2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the stay! Good host. Simple space similar to a hotel room, but more private and interesting flare! Loved the art and the clawfoot tub. Could use some cups or something for guests, though. There’s no kitchen, but that’s not really a problem. Could also use another trashcan besides the tiny one in the bathroom! Overall 5 stars. Great experience.

  • Eventhough we have never met James in person, his place was great! Had its own entrance so we didn't and weren' disturbed by others. Was very close to the French Quarter (like 10min - 9$ uber). I would definitely go back!!

This Cozy Private Studio Apartment is just 7 blocks from the Fair Grounds and a short distance from the French Quarter. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Recently renovated with all new appliances. A secluded oasis in the heart of the city. Moments away from Esplanade Ave., City Park, the Fair Grounds and the French Quarter. Perfect location for Mardi Gras and Jazz/Voodoo Fest.
Beautifully decorated one room studio apartment in the rear of a newly renovated duplex. Set off the street, this is a perfect oasis getaway from the bustle of the city but right in the heart of New Orleans.
The 7th Ward is a diverse working class neighborhood with a deep rooted community and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. Historically a predominantly Afro-Creole community developed in the 19th century similar to the neighboring and slightly older Faubourg Tremé; it is home to such music greats as Sidney Bechet, Jelly Roll Morton, and Frank Ocean. The areas along and near Esplanade Avenue and Bayou Road both have elegant architecture and are lined with beautiful historic oaks. The New Orleans Fairgrounds, home to horse racing and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, is just back from Esplanade Avenue, as is Saint Louis Cemetery #3. Frenchmen Street is in the front of the ward near the French Quarter. The House is located across from a local elementary school.
  • Great Studio, very clean, quite, comunication great..

  • It was our first time in New Orleans, and Zach's place was perfect to have as our hub during our short stay. He keeps it extremely clean and it's very well decorated. Highly recommend taking advantage of this location to get a quick Lyft or Uber to Frenchmen street just minutes away. It's about a 15 minute drive to the French Quarter (where Bourbon St., Jackson Square is), and about a 5 minute drive from Esplanade St. where many nice restaurants are. The room is also equipped with a full kitchen and sink, so you can also save money by going grocery shopping and cooking in! I recommend Zach's place and hope to travel here again someday.

    Chris2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great, private stay. The studio doesn’t feel like it’s connected to anyone, and Zach was very helpful and responsive!

  • Great little spot, perfect for our few days in New Orleans. Close enough to all the best spots. Highly recommend!

    Sam2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish space, secured by fence, nice neighbors. Wish I could say more about the location, but we didn’t get to explore much because of some severe weather. Zach was very supportive and understanding about rearranging our stay when a storm rolled in and we had to leave early to escape the worst of it.

    Melanya2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Zach responded super quick. the studio was the perfect size for my boyfriend and i and it was decorated very well. we especially were happy to find hangers in the closet and lots of clean towels. also the fridge was great to have. we didn't use much of the kitchen but it was stocked. the surrounding area may seem off-putting at first, but looks are deceiving-we had no problems in the neighborhood.

My Airbnb is the rear of my single family home in the Seventh Ward of New Orleans. The space is light, cozily modern and impeccably clean. Our diverse and vibrant neighborhood is welcoming to all and convenient to the heart of the city. I enjoy meeting all my guests with sincere Louisiana hospitality City of New Orleans Permit No. 17STR-18231
The home is a mid-century ranch house. I have personally renovated it and ensured that my guests will have a comfortable, private and enjoyable experience that reflects the uniqueness New Orleans. I live in the front of the house, but the guest space is private.
The Seventh Ward is a vibrant, diverse and welcoming neighborhood. Even among New Orleans neighborhoods, it stands out for its cultural traditions and maintains a rich heritage. While I am new to the neighborhood, many of my neighbors have lived here for generations. The Seventh Ward's architecture and history are important, but its people are what make it a joyous place to live and visit. Furthermore, it is centrally located within the city - approximately a mile from both City Park and the French Quarter.
  • Clean as a whistle, tidy and economical. Only a stones throw from all of the action. Colin is thoughtful and helpful. A fabulous host. Highly recommend!

The creole cottage is a historic cute double shotgun with a well-lit living room and kitchen, two bedrooms, and one bath. There is a beautiful backyard for your entertainment and comfort as well. Guests can get to the French Quarters, Superdome, and convention center in 15 mins by car. There are restaurants nearby on Ponce de Leon and Bayou Road, which is walking distance or a short 3 min ride. Wholefoods Grocery Store is about a 5 minute ride on Broad Street. The neighborhood is quiet and very safe. The house is centrally located. The neighborhood is known as the home of the New Orleans Jazz Fest every year! It's less than a 10 minute drive to the French Quarter, 5 minute drive to City Park, and walking distance to the Fairgrounds race track.
  • Loved staying here - very accessible, relatively quiet, and close to lots of fun stuff to do in New Orleans!

  • I really enjoyed picking fresh oranges in the backyard for breakfast. City transportation was really close to the house and got to travel around the city for just $6 a day . Very private , super friendly neighbors and a safe area for non-residents. Parking was very conveniently located. We really enjoyed watching Christmas movies on Netflix. Pull out couch was very comfortable and convenient and the pots and pans allowed for us to really enjoy our leftovers we brought from the restaurants.

  • Lawliss opened up his home to us free of charge when we were displaced by hurricane Irma. He was a true angel. The place is spacey and in a great location. Safe and quiet neighborhood.

I have a private guest suite in my home for rent to singles or couples. I am on a major but quiet street in New Orleans with easy access to anywhere by car. I'm also on a bus line. Upon request, you may have kitchen access, laundry access, and access to the back porch and yard. NOTE: I do have two cats. They are well behaved and should not bother you. My city of New Orleans rental license is #18STR- 01496.
The house is two years old, and so the space is new (clean and nice). The suite is at the front of the house, and my bedroom is at the back. You will enjoy as much privacy as I can give you. You are renting the room and bathroom, but I have tried to make it as close to a hotel room as I can.
The neighborhood is quiet although it's on a main street. The large City Park is a few blocks to the west; Lake Ponchartrain is a few blocks to the north, and there is a walking/running path along the lakefront, also a marina. Guests often ask if they can walk to the French Quarter. NO. But it's easily accessible down my street (15-17 minutes) by car or 30 minutes by bus (it stops frequently). New Orleans is a small city and access to whatever you want is easy. Lots of Uber and Lyft drivers a short distance away.
  • Historic home located in a safe neighborhood that is very close to everything. It's super quiet and awesome space to come back to after a great night and relax. Couldn't ask for anything better, plus the kitties were sweet.

Recently renovated my house and have an extra room for rent with an attached bathroom. I am very easy going and always enjoy meeting new people. Don't hesitate to ask any questions! This is a quiet residential neighborhood, not the French Quarter. It is peaceful and nice to walk around, plenty of neighbors sitting outside, bars and restaurants are easy to get to.
Private room with attached bathroom. The rest of the house is shared space, perfect for people on the go that need a place to relax. We have a well-stocked kitchen and pantry, fast WiFi, washer and dryer, and cold beer in the fridge!
Great quiet neighborhood that is centrally located, very easy to get around the city in short amount of time. One block to City Park, four blocks to the Canal streetcar line to go downtown, plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance.
  • Kevin and his roomate Misha are very cool ! We had a wonderful time in Nola, thanks to them. The place is well located in a cool area and is very clean and confortable. They lent us bikes and it is a wonderful way to discover the city. And, on top of that, they both are great cooks :). We highly recommand and we would be glad to go there again.

    Aurélien2015-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin was a great host. He made us feel welcome with our arrival and was super friendly. The room's wooden floors were clean and nice to walk out on after exiting the bathroom. The hot water is plentiful, just make sure you don't have the bathroom heater on at the same time. We chose this place over others because of the price mostly, but also thinking, it was right next to the Orleans bus. We thought the RTA transit system would be somewhat dependable given the app and GPS locations of buses, but they were awfully inconsistent. They sometimes arrived early by 10 minutes, but mostly late by ten minutes, which sets you back about 25 minutes if you miss. We suggest making sure that if you have scheduled tours, you leave 30 minutes earlier than planned or an hour earlier if you are planning to transfer rides. This has nothing to do with how great Kevin is, but it could affect your expectations of travel while staying in this location. As of the time of this post, the Morning Call restaurant in the park is under reconstruction and will become a Cafe Du Monde later on. This was news to us when we walked over there for an evening trip. In contrast, District Donuts Sliders Brew was a great restaurant nearby. Everything else we experienced was in other areas of town. We would also like to plug our favorite tour of the trip being "Catholic Tours of the Crescent City" where we learned a lot about the Catholic history of the city checking out some amazing churches, spots around town and a cemetery. https://www.ctccnola.com/about

    Patrick2019-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin was a great host! Good quick communication, clean stylish place. Also a few super cuddly resident outside kitties always there to greet us! It was the perfect place to crash at night after very full days spent in the French Quarter. Just to note, it does take about 30-45 minutes to get to Quarter from here if you're depending on public transport. Usually we rode the streetcar which meant a 0.5 mile walk (always felt very safe walking) to the line and then a 30-ish minute ride depending on traffic. There is a bus stop only 1 block away which is great if you can catch it at the right time, but it also only runs til about midnight whereas the streetcar runs 24/7.

    Jacquelyn2019-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Michsa were fantastic host! We didn't see much of them but that was because were gone much of the day\night. They make you very comfortable straight away. I mean you just feel like another roommate of theirs. The neighborhood was great and the park (2 blocks away) has so many things to do. We spent the better part of Sunday just walking through the parks sculpture garden, sitting on benches, watching the locals enjoy the day. There was even a BBQ going on with one of the Mardi gras parade crews DJJ and all. The street car is a few blocks away the 48 on one side and the 47 on the other. Coffee shops and bars just a few blocks away in the neighborhood. Mischa was kind enough to make us a list of things the locals would do and we did 18 of the 27. We left the list on the corkboard for future reference. Oh and the sofa /futon in the photo are very comfortable. I am allergic to cats but had no problems interacting with both of them so don't let that stop you from staying here. Lastly, they are both very good cooks. I recommend staying here.

    Jermaine2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • These guys are great! Although Kevin was busy traveling during my stay, he was always available to coordinate and answer my questions. Misha is super nice! He was interesting to talk to and even drives for UBER!

  • Kevin and Misha, and all their cats, are wonderful hosts! They were both extremely accommodating and warm (they even picked us up from the airport!), and the layout of their house provides the right balance of ability for socialization and privacy. The neighborhood is fantastic, and everything is accessible by a bike/streetcar combo. Great experience all around!

  • Wonderful in every category including the lovely and peaceful outside areas, especially the pool. Mark graciously drove us around our first night and waited while we picked up groceries. Location is excellent, by City Park. Our only wish would have been for more light in the apartment - it was pretty dark, although good for sleeping! We had a wonderful week in NOLA!!

Cozy room less than a half mile to beautiful city park 2.5 miles to downtown. Groceries & shopping options just a few blocks away. Queen sized bed, shared kitchen and bathroom, street parking, Wi-Fi.
    Smoking allowed outside.
Built cira 1983, this neighborhood is a block long of townhouses. This quaint neighborhood is full of flavor, character, friendly neighbors, & easy access to many conveniences. Being right in-between the river, lake & near city park this location offers a great opportunity to explore an array of options of hidden jems often over looked by many who limit their selves to the usual tourist hots spots of the French Quarter, Bywater, or uptown area. Regarding safety, crime maps & statistics show this is area to significantly less crime activity as the French Quarter,Bywater, & Uptown areas. All except for a few occasional neighborhood holiday parties, this is one of the quietest neighborhoods around & I have never had any problems.

Though I didn't get the chance to meet Jonathan, he left super informative info about the place and check-in, so I felt completely comfortable. There was another really wonderful Airbnb guest, who made the stay even more enjoyable and allowed for some cultural exchange. I highly recommend! : )

  • This room was very cozy and perfect for our short stay in New Orleans. Jonathan was very welcoming, though we did not see a lot of him. Location is out of the way, but as long as the two bikes are available, it is not a problem. There is also a bus stop around the corner.

  • Wonderful experience! Lindsay answered endless questions we had about the area and what to do during our stay. Very cozy house that was uniquely Nola! Would return!

    Elle2016-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Lindsay’s place for a weekend getaway! The location was great - an easy run to the park and lots of great coffee shops in walking distance. The price was incredible reasonable! Thanks for everything!

  • Lindsay was a great host, welcoming us to her small inn, in mid-city New Orleans. The house was big, had lots of character and is in a great location. Our room was on the first floor, with our own bathroom. The location was great, you can just hop on the streetcar to head downtown (takes about 8 minutes), and then head back to the quiet mid-city area to sleep. Some great restaurants nearby as well! Thanks Lindsay!

  • What a beautiful and charming home in such a vibrant part of NoLa! Looking forward to staying with Lindsay in the near future again.

    Laura2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Last March we visited New Orleans, stayed at the LaQuinta Inn adjacent to the I10/N. Causeway Blvd. Interchange. The only good feature at this location was City Diner next door where you could get an actual 12" pancake-to-go in a pizza box. None the less, we did manage to see some of New Orleans. This year we wised up, and, determined to plant ourselves smack dab down in the city (always plant yourself in a smack-dab fashion, and avoid motels), ended up at the Okra Inn, a fine choice from AirBnB, anathema to LaQuinta Inns everywhere. Our host Lindsay greeted us upon our arrival, and quickly acclimated us to our immediate surroundings- as in the location of the nearest food- which turned out to be Katie's just down the street. That's the great thing about New Orleans- everything is pretty much "just down the street", or a short ride on the trolley. Needless to say, in the brief time we were there we had a great visit. Our thanks to Lindsay for creating the Okra Inn. We'll be back soon.

  • Literally Lindsay was the best host I've ever had. She's very accomidating and so kind. Even when sick she waited outside for us to arrive, welcomed us and gave us a tour of the place. We stayed in 5 air bnbs while in New Orleans and she was the only person we booked from twice. I felt so comfortable and right at home. The place is cute and clean.

  • Great location near City Park, around the corner from Brocato's Italian Pastry Shop. Relaxed environment with interesting guests. Lindsey is very personable and pleasant.

  • Staying here was really nice. The apartment is in a really good part of town and Lindsey is a really great host. She told me a lot of great places to eat and have fun. I would highly recommended this place.

  • Lindsay met me at the door when I arrived. She showed me around the house and to my room. While I did not have this exact room, the room I did have was very clean and the bed was most comfortable. The house is also very comfortable. The location of this house is perfect. You do not need a car unless you just want one. I did have a car as I live in Central Louisiana, parking on the street was not a big deal, New Orleans style. The street car is barely a block from which you can get anywhere in the city. There are several nice restaurants/cafes in the area that you can walk to. I would stay here again.

    Kathy2016-02-26T00:00:00Z

  • We enjoyed our stay here - the room was private, check-in was easy, and it wasn't far from the french quarter/bourbon street. We were a little wary of the neighborhood, after walking around a bit and talking with a couple of locals about the area, who expressed reservations about it. Parts of the neighborhood you walk through when walking to/from the French Quarter looked a little run down, so we felt safer taking Uber/Lyft at night.

    Amy2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great place stay. My partner and I enjoyed our stayed

    Jollan2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew’s place is super cute and quaint. Summer in NOLA is a bit ruthlessly hot but the room’s perfectly cozy with a/c. The neighborhood may seem sketchy but speaking from personal experiences I didn’t feel unsafe during my stay at all. The location is convenient as it’s between Mid-City and French Quarter; $7 lyft could get you to the lovely parts of town. (tip: you may wanna bring your own shampoo and soap!)

    Sally2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Red room was great! Instructions very clear. Thank you Andrew!

    Cornelia2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Location was fairly easy to find. Took a bus #84 from Canal street (N. Galvez direction) up to N. Galvez X Columbus. The house is about 1 block away from the intersection. Wifi and access are all very self-explanatory, no issue at all. Unlike staying in the downtown New Orleans, this is much more of a local experience - where neighbors will actually say hi to you. Overall I enjoyed my stay here.

    Lewis2014-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Travellers can expect an ornate room that adds to the feel of their vacation.

    Summer2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • My experience here was very smooth and directions were super clear on how to enter and exit. I just wish there was more ventilation and light in the red room, otherwise I would definitely rate my experience highly! Thanks for having!!

    Manjot2014-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • absolutely fantastic experience. the hosts andrew and amanda were more than accommodating. the place was kept clean the whole time. the little booklet has all kinds of things to explore listed and they recommended even more current shows and events to go to. the bikes were a huge plus. i had no ideas how bikeable new orleans is. comparable to quite a number of more progressive european bicycle cites. at one point we had an issue with one of the u-locks on the bikes, but andrew took the time to drive out to our location and make sure everything was okay. i was worried the location might be a bit outside of the city but it was a great location equally close to city park [a fantastic park to explore and picnic at] and the french quarter. the neighborhood felt quite initiate and friendly. andrew was also very accommodating on both check in and check out times. he is also very quick to respond to any question or issues you might have. really - both hosts went more than out of their way to make sure the trip was as pleasant as possible.

We are close to City Park, Fairgrounds Race Track, Jazz Fest, Endymion parade, Voodoo Fest, Museum of Art, Canal Streetcar, 30 restaurants, 5 cafes & 2 grocery stores. It's a 10-15 minute drive to the French Quarter. We are on a private, quiet street, with a separate entrance, which is closed off from the rest of the house. It's in a safe neighborhood, but has easy access to the French Quarter/Business district, by car or streetcar. Good for couples, singles, business. City License # 17STR-07229
Our house is private and quiet. You have your own entrance and can come and go as you like. Your room is cozy, with access to the kitchen, containing a microwave, toaster, fridge and coffee maker. You have a private bath. 2 people maximum at any time.

It’s a great way to find out what community events are going on during your stay.
  • The only complaint I have is the fact that the place was not clean. A few examples: I saw a couple of bugs, the bathroom air vent is dirty, and the window ac unit is not clean. Otherwise, everything was well (e.g., hospitality, location, noise levels, etc.). Thank you.

    Noni2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts gave us very helpful information to see New Orleans. The street car is a 1 minute walk & takes you to the French quarter very easily. The neighbor hood is very nice & safe, with the New Orleans museum of art a 5 min walk & the park is right next to the room. Very nice experience.

  • I loved everything about our stay here - the location was great, the space was clean, and the hosts were very personable. Carlos and Patrice came to greet us upon our arrival, then Carlos walked us around to orient us to the area. After that, they allowed us privacy and we were free to come and go as we pleased. The space was sufficient for our needs and had plenty of toiletries, kitchenware, and good AC. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to New Orleans!

  • Absolutely incredible space to stay at everything is less than 15 minutes away and we couldn’t have asked for more local advice for places to go. If you are traveling through or going on vacation. This is the place to get 100%.

  • Patrice's place is awesome! Walking distance to Jazz Fest, which is so important if you don't want to have to deal with crazy parking or other public transport options. We could also walk to City Park, several great restaurants and a CVS down the street. The space itself is clean and cozy, with a private entrance, bathroom and kitchen for our use so it felt very much like having our "own" place. Patrice was incredibly helpful from start to finish with tips about the neighborhood, Jazz Fest and was always very timely in her responses. Definitely stay here if you're looking for a cozy and local-living retreat in NOLA! Thanks Patrice!

Tip is to park at night, and if you are going out just take an Uber or lyft, so you don’t have to worry about a space late at night. 😊 I would definitely book again the guest that where with me loved it as well.

  • The apartment is clean, the internet is fast and there is plenty of space for 6 people to sleep. LOCATION is AWESOME. The last stop of tram 48 is close to the building and it goes to the French Quarter. We left our car on the parking and spent the whole day in the city without worries.

This charming and historical New Orleans style studio apartment is located in a wonderful neighborhood directly behind the Jazz Fest gates with central access to all of New Orleans. It is in a family-friendly neighborhood within walking distance to groceries, coffee, restaurants, City Park, Bayou St. John, the streetcar, and bus line. We provide coffee in the morning, washer/dryer, and basic cookware. 5-minute drive to French Quarter and I-10. We hope to see you soon. Lic num: 18STR-01504
This private apartment with separate entrance is located in a traditionally styled New Orleans home. A queen bed, local artwork by the homeowner, equipped galley kitchen, full bathroom, dining area, and washer/dryer are provided. Centrally located, this charming studio provides the perfect place to put your feet up for a single traveler, couple, or family with an infant (pack and play available upon request). Owners live on the other side of the house and are happy to talk to you about local recommendations and travel tips. We love our city!
This is an incredible neighborhood! Walking to the New Orleans Museum of Art, Botanical Garden, Sculpture Garden, Storyland, Morning Call (Beignets), City Park (bike and boat rentals, running paths, beautiful scenery), Bayou St. John (picnics on the bridge pictured in the studio apartment are a norm!), streetcar line, bus line, racetrack, Jazz Fest, and Stallings Pool (seasonally) make this a great location as well as the restaurants and conveniences within a 5-10 block radius. We love eating up the street at Santa Fe for a great margarita happy hour, Cafe Degas (French), Nonna Mia (Italian/Pizza), Lola's(Spanish and Paella), or 1000 Figs (farm fresh falafel/Israeli). There are two great coffee shops, CCs and Fairgrinds, Swirl (wine shop with free Friday tastings), Lux (hair and nail salon) and Cansecos (grocery store) within 5 blocks as well. Newly opened, we enjoy breakfast at Pagoda Cafe for coffee and breakfast burritos across N. Broad street and Toast on Gentilly. Finally, if you are here for Jazz Fest there is no better location. We are one block from the entrance, and can hear everything without even going in!

  • Jennie was readily available the entire day and made everything very easy! Her home was beautiful and everything was so comfortable. We were able to just hangout and relax for a single night and she even had little breakfast places to check out when we took off early in the morning!

  • Jennie's place was magical. First off, we got there early and she accommodated us. Since we got there early, we witnessed her cleaning. She's a perfectionist in a great way! She made sure everything was super clean and it was. The space was perfect for my best friend and I. It was extremely stylist and traditional at the same time. Amazing. We felt comfortable. One huge concept of our trip to NOLA is the concept of gentrification and how Airbnbs play a role in it. Our time in NOLA was centered and geared by original New Orleans Black folk. We were shown and told about the devastations of Hurricane Katrina especially on poor people of color. 14 years later and the government has not given the support that they should've to these groups of people. Instead, wealthier, white neighborhoods were fixed and are running like normal. Gentrifiers are taking over spaces that were once homes of original Black folk. Airbnbs like this one are also in these neighborhoods. The Airbnbs in these neighborhoods don't hold the security that owners in the area cherish. "Neighbors not tourists" was the slogan we saw on some doors around. The people are clear about not wanting gentrification or airbnbs. I wish we had known and thought about this before choosing to pick an airbnb for our trip. We will look into this for our future trips around the world. Everyone should look into this when you are trying to be tourists in areas around the world, especially historically disenfranchised, manipulated and underprivileged areas.

  • Stayed at Jennie’s my first two nights in NOLA and it was awesome. Very good place for someone who likes to get away from all the partying. I did not get a chance to talk to Jennie but we communicated via text and she is so sweet. She left complimentary bottle of wine for us since we were celebrating our honeymoon. I highly recommend staying at Jennie’s she is amazing!
