Valeria was a superb guide with a keen eye to point out the various birds, wildcats, and even one bat that we might not have noticed on our own. She recounted fascinating personal histories of a few of the rescued individuals, including a toucan named Grecia whose partly missing upper beak was fitted with a 3-D-printed prosthesis so that he could once again nourish himself and access oil-producing glands on his body to keep his plumage waterproofed. And I saw my first tayra ever, a sleek, black, dog-like animal named Poa, who seemed to love our attention and pose for our photos. Besides the rescued animals, we saw a few that were wild and free, including an agouti (and the above-mentioned bat). Naturally, Valeria explained the important purpose and operation of the rescue center, which story is interesting in and of itself. And Valeria was kind enough to accommodate the slowest walker in our group by moderating our pace and allowing us rest stops. This tour is deserving of 10 stars!

What a magical experience. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you love wildlife. Amy did a fantastic job explaining, educating and answering questions. The animals are all well taken care of and I was happy to see them enjoying a good life

Eduardo was our guide and he was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time learning about all of the animals and how the rescue operates. I would definitely recommend doing the tour to get the full experience!

this is a beautiful wildlife sanctuary that houses rescued animals. it is not a zoo. good place to see jaguars.
