This was a true highlight of my first trip to Chiang Mai! The class took place at the Chiang Mai cultural center, inside of a traditional Lanna home. The instructor was extremely kind and patient, she made me feel warm and welcomed from the start.

Highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Chiang Mai! They teach you about the history of the dance and Lanna culture. Also, they helped guide me through the dance step by step. I still can't believe how elegantly I performed by the end our time together ☺️

I had such a great experience learning fon leb at the Old Chiangmai Cultural Center. Dew was my instructor, and she was very kind and patient with me since I'm a beginner. Bobbi was my friendly translator and she gave me an excellent history lesson about the origin of the dance and northern Lanna culture. Ni was great with checking on me throughout the experience. I have many pictures and videos to keep forever!

We were warmly greeted by our guide and interpreter who gave us a short, fascinating synopsis of where, when and how this dance form came about. Then my daughter and I were lucky enough to be the only ones being taught by the very graceful Dew. Dew was a most gracious teacher for us westerners with no rhythm or ability. The pace of the class was a peaceful introduction to the gentle Thai ways.
We felt supported throughout the class and left with more knowledge, flexibility and yes a bit more rythum 😁
Afterwards we strolled around the buildings and garden. Then we reserved a traditional dinner with a show and found out Dew herself will actually be performing too!

Exactly as described, more than we expected, a delightful experience which we highly recommend 👍

PS lovely quiet space in a traditional Lanna structure, air conditioned, spotlessly clean floor, large windows and dance mirror plus fab music!
