We really enjoyed our tour with Rudy! We have two kids who enjoyed the food and also had a lot of fun making creations out of clay. And we also loved the food, learning about pottery of this region and meeting the artist and her family.

We also did a tour with Rudy of the Indigenous villages and it was outstanding! He was so knowledgable and engaged the kids as well. I recommend them both.

Everything about this tour (wool and textile demonstration, visit to San Juan Chamula church, and the art/cultural center) was amazing. The artisans who led our demonstration were personable and generous in showing their craft and answering our group's questions. The loom was fun to try out! While we were at the church, Rudy explained some of the local history behind the activity there, which was a much richer experience than if we had just gone in ourselves and watched without context.

Visiting Chamula is a unique experience, and Rudy is passionate and knowledgeable about the area and its people. I don't think you can find a better guide.

Words cannot describe what a great experience this was. I could have gone to all those places somehow myself, but, without Rudy's expert guidance, it would have been nowhere close to the experience.
Rudy has extensive local experience and provided details that I would have missed. He provided background, context, and history at every stop. There was an excellent balance of detail and frequency of stops, so I was able to keep engaged throughout.
If you ever make it to the area, please do yourself a favour and go out of your way to sign up for this experience. It was very well worth it.

An overall great experience. We spent a long time in the church at Chamula with lots of explanations about their traditions. At the church in Zinacantan we were lucky to sit and see the community redecorating the chapel. I asked about how the Vatican views these differences. All in all, a fascinating dive into local custom.
