Step into a special world where all things are delicious, the food, the atmosphere, the ethics of your hosts. Some of the food you eat is grown around you and tame eels can be hand fed while you wait for your meal of afterwards. Don't forget to wander about to see the creations hidden in the 'jungle' or along the paths and fence. Yes I love it here. Unfortunately they are closing at the end of April 2020 for daytime service. They will be open on Friday evenings.

"A New Zealand Icon not to missed!" Jester House cafe has been run by the same couple for 27 years, and has gone from a small hole in the wall to a flourishing Award winning cafe. Homegrown and lovingly prepared food, local wines and fruits and treats from the owners garden make up a delectable menu of scrumptious breakfasts or lunches. And there are tame eels to feed too, beautiful gardens to wonder, and sculptural art scattered around the extensive grounds. The children have a huge playground with a variety of jungle gyms, tunnels, swings, slides and secret woodlands to run and play in.
