The Village part is cool, but the Civil War Museum is one of the best in the country of the the western theater. Great displays. There are 3 museums in one. The general one, the women museum and the Hal Moore museum covering WWI through the Vietnam War. The Civil War museum is one of my favorites.

The Civil War Museum & the Women’s Museum of the Civil War are America’s largest and most complete Museums devoted to the Western Theater of the American Civil War. In one location—museum row in Bardstown, a half hour drive from Perryville—you can tour the Civil War Museum, Historic Bardstown Village, and the Women’s Museum of the Civil War!

By far one of the best Civil War museums I have been to It has just about everything from that era to look at up close It would recommend this to families with children as this is quite the learning experience that they will not be taught in school. So much of our history is being lost to modern day fast pace life styles
