A quiet and mellow ski field a little out of Akakaura is perfect for anyone looking for a beginner slope close to the town but don't want it to be crowded. You can enjoy a 350 yen black volcanic rock hot spring at the Hotel Alpenblick l located at the entrance of the ski field.
