This is a one of my favoutite historical sights in Edinburgh and situated right beside Holyrood Park if you want something more active, like to climb Authur Seat. There is a nice cafe in the grounds also and afterwards you want wander up the Royal Mile.

Official residence in Scotland of Her Majesty The Queen. A must see attraction if you enjoy history.
