This photo of Harlech Beach is taken from what is known locally as 'Good God Corner'. If you take the time to stop and take in the view you will see why. Harlech Beach is a 10 minute walk from Bluebell taking in the amazing views of Shell Island on the way down. From Bluebell walk back up the drive and simply keep going until you reach the first little crossroads at the bottom of For Uwchglan. Go straight over, when you reach the second set of cross roads on the main road turn right and walk for about 30 yards - past the bus stop - until you see a gate on your left to the footpath down to the beach. One word of caution; it is a long way down (272 steps at the last count) and even further coming back up! (feels it anyway). At the bottom you have to cross the railway tracks of the amazing Cambrian Line you will then step onto the miles of golden and often deserted sands of Harlech Beach. If you prefer to drive, head to the same crossroads and again turn right along the main coast road into Harlech. The castle should be high on the cliff to your right. You need to take the first left after the level crossing onto Fford Glan Mor. Head down the long straight beach road to the end where there is a Pay and Display car park. The beach seldom gets 'packed' but the car park is a different matter. In popular times you will need to get there early or be very lucky to get a parking space. If it is full there is parking at the leisure centre - head back along Fford Glan Mor towards the Castle and take the first right (turning before Castell Morfa and premier store). Follow the road to the end and find a spot in the carpark. You have to pay in the reception (circa £2 in 2021) although last year there was simply an honesty box inside the letter box on the main doors. As far as we are aware there is nothing to stop you parking, for free, in the road leading to the leisure centre but be warned you will incur the wrath of the locals. (I guess it must be annoying for them!)

A very big sandy beach, so big that if you walk far enough towards Southwards to Llandanwg you will find a section just for you with no one else around!

Undulating dunes and soft golden sands, with the World Heritage Site of Harlech castle as a backdrop. Take a picnic and spend the day or have lunch in one of the many lovely eateries in the town.

This is by far our favourite beach. A bit of a drive but on a nice day it is well worth it. A large sandy beach and stunning mountain views.
