The Oregon Trail runs just North of Wamego. Remnants of Wagons can still be seen in some place. This is a great place to hike, experience some fascinating history, and have a picnic with the family.

If you are looking to do things in the area and you enjoy history this is a short little hike that is fun to explore. Don't forget to stop at the Sugar Shack in St. Mary's!
