The archaeolgical park in Pisac is truly enchanting. For me, these Inca ruinas are a big part of what makes this town so magical and iteresting. You can go up to the ruins by a motocar or a taxi from town, around 20-30 min. (You can actually see them from the town if you just look up!) - I have some friends who prefer here to Machu Pichu, so it's definitely worth a visit(;

The Pisac ruins are among Peru’s most intact ancient sites, and a perfect example of ingenious Inca architecture. They are built on top of a mountain that towers over the small town of Pisac; the views of the countryside are spectacular and the ruins and their makers are remarkable. Topping the terraces is the site’s ceremonial center, with an intihuatana (literally ‘hitching post of the sun’; an Inca astronomical tool), several working water channels, and some painstakingly neat masonry in the well-preserved temples.

En el Valle Sagrado de los Incas, Pisac lo sorprenderá de dos formas. El mundialmente conocido mercado tradicional, con innumerables puestos de venta entre las calles del pueblo hasta llegar a su plaza principal, en este mercado podrá encontrar artesanías de todo tipo. Ya detrás del pueblo, en lo alto de una montaña, podrá encontrar las construcciones incas, de las mejor conservadas que existen, con magnificas estructuras como el Templo del Sol o su espectacular andenería.
