The Thissio station is Station Athens metro , on line 1 , the kilometric position 8603 from the station of Piraeus . Located in Athens and took its name from the district of Thissio . Bounded by Asomatoi Street, next to the Roman Forum and the grove Thisiou. Inaugurated on 27 February 1869 and the current form dates back to 2004 . It has two side platforms, depot and train spotting line. The route Thissio - Monastiraki is the smallest in the entire Metro network, but is considered the most picturesque, as the line passes right next to the Roman Forum. So one can admire the ancient Agora with the Stoa of Attalos , and one of the oldest districts of Athens, Monastiraki .
