This neighborhood is great for some of the most famous and oldest Montréal foods, and it's mostly french. you'll find Schwartz smoked meat, St Viateur bagels and La Banquise Poutine there. You will definitely meet someone that visited Montreal at some point and they will ask you if you've been to one of those restaurants.

And if you want to keep the excitement going, the Plateau is conveniently located near both Old Montreal and the festivals of Quartier des Spectacles.
