The Cottage for Two

The Cottage was built in the late 1930's for a local church and was used as a Sunday school room, for receptions, etc.. In 2004 we relocated the Hut, as it was once called, to this site and restored it to it's existing condition, staying with it's late 30's roots. It and main house sets on 5 beautifully landscaped acres and is located only 7 minutes from historic downtown Summerville. Please note that this is NOT INTENDED AS A VENUE and is a SHARED POOL, not exclusive to the pool house guest.

One Block from Summerville Town Square

The cottage is in downtown Summerville's Historic District. It is 1.5 blocks from Main St. behind a Victorian home built in 1890. The cottage is very comfortable and cozy with a queen size bed, sofa, easy chairs and fast internet. The bathroom is roomy with handicapped railings beside the commode and bathtub. A skylight provides light even on cloudy days. There are plants in the cottage and lots of artwork. Restaurants and entertainment are within walking distance. Ceilings are 9 feet.

Though you may be tempted to turn your trip into a staycation, we are only 25 minutes from downtown and 35 minutes to beaches like Sullivans Island.

🚭 Zero tolerance policy for smoking/vaping on the property, even outside. We appreciate your respect by not booking/requesting/inquiring our place if you or any other guests are smokers. Due to allergies, we don't permit pets of any size or kind. This listing is for the main house only, the detached guest house is a separate rental. 3/26- There is some land clearing going behind the property. Although visible from the back yard, no guests have said it affected their stay.

We are just 9 miles from Volvo/ Camp Hall & 2.5 miles from I-26, making it convenient to go explore anywhere in the Charleston area.

Cottage in the Oaks is truly a dream cottage. Our goal was to make this cottage a restful, peaceful home away from home. We are nestled on 2.5 acres with multiple ancient Live Oaks. You will feel as though you are in a country setting but are only a 2 minute drive to the center of Historic Summerville, with multiple choices of restaurants, local shops and of course bars. We are located 15 minutes from the hearts of Cane Bay, Nexton and Exit 194 on I-26, and 45 minutes from Downtown Charleston. Two can sleep in the queen size bed and one can sleep on the couch.
