We are located in the quiet, rural area of the Rusland Valley within driving distance of all scenic areas including Grizedale, Coniston, Ambleside & Windermere, and are surrounded by fields and woodland providing a fantastic location for cycling and walking holidays.

Drakes Cottage is situated within the courtyard of a former 18th century coaching stables. The medieval village of Cartmel is a 15 minute walk away, via public footpath through the surrounding fields or country lanes. Famous for its 12th century Priory, 2 Michelin starred restaurants & delicious sticky toffee pudding. The Edwardian town of Grange is a 5 minute drive with plenty of amenities and a lovely promenade walk. The southern end of Lake Windermere is a 12 minute drive.
