Jwalpa Retreat

Jwalpa Retreat is a small two storey pre-fabricated hut built by my father Col Anand Thapliyal SM in Ghandiyal village near Pauri District. It is a step forward towards sustainable living in the hills of Garhwal. He has planted more then 100 fruit and other trees. Installed drip irrigation and also a small sized poly house. There is work in progress but the place offers quite peace and tranquillity to no measure. Visit and feel the clean air and the lovely people of Uttarakhand.

Surrounded by hills , a seasonal river on the west and a canal on the east side. The location is also known as Do Naali as it is a confluence of 2 canals. There is a continuous sound of water flowing which is very soothing. A small dam exists close by. The farm has a cow and fresh milk can be tasted free of cost. Honey bee keeping is also done. This is besides regular farming of famous Dehradun basmati rice , wheat and vegetables. Short treks can also be arranged.
