Inquire first on pets, there is a 50 lb. weight limit total, can be split up between 2 small dogs or 1 at 50lbs or less,must be house broken and friendly. Close to Saint Mary's historic city, Pt. Lookout State Park, Sotterley Plantation. Great hiking trails, restored colonial village,a replica of the Maryland Dove. Tour a lighthouse. Great restaurants , or spend a day over in Solomons Island, about 20 miles from us. Peaceful settings for relaxing right on the water,or kayak on the river.

The Oxford House

Enjoy water views from the backyard or visit with friends on the screened in porch. The light and airy, 3bd, 2bath house is a short walk to Oxford’s best restaurants and favorite ice-cream shop. You can find the best beach in oxford only 75 yards from our front door or take the Ferry to the neighboring town of Saint Michaels, Maryland. You will love the scenic views and historical charm of this little town, the Oxford house has a central location allowing you to walk or bike to everything.

We are thrilled to host guests at the newly renovated Water's Edge Cottage -- a serene oasis offering what may be the best views on the Potomac. The rural charm of St. Mary’s County is among Maryland’s best kept secrets -- 90 minutes but a world away from Washington DC (with no Bay Bridge traffic!). The cottage was built in late 1880s and is located in the charming Historic District, where you can enjoy the convenience of walking one block to the downtown shops and restaurants on S. Talbot street. And for another 5 to 15 minute walk, you can reach more waterfront dining on St. Michaels Harbor with its boat slips, boat ramps, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Muskrat Park and Hollis Park.

This is a short walking distance to downtown Cambridge. I use this as a weekend getaway and make it available when I know I will not be there.
