Eco self contained cottage in a garden.

This mini 1 bedroom house was our trial run in building our main home using passive house principles. We are approx 1 km from the centre of Westbury in a rural location. (You may be lucky enough to sight some of our local wildlife during your stay! ) The cottage is suitable for a couple, however the extra single bed does enable some flexibility for guests.(i.e. if you wish to use both beds, please book for 3 people.) We provide a library of information about sustainability for guest perusal.

Easy walk to Launceston CBD and Farmers Market. Directly opposite the cottage is the North Esk riverbank walkway that leads to the Seaport and then onto the Cataract Gorge. This cottage has been recently renovated. It has two bedrooms both with queen beds, open plan living area, modern bathroom and laundry.

The property is nestled into the base of the Great Western Tiers which provides great opportunity for bushwalking and wildlife viewing. Blackwood Cottage is the perfect place to use as a base for outdoor adventures or as a place to relax in front of the fireplace.
