Almiral de la Font

Drive up to the majestic Almiral de la Font villa, situated in the picturesque countryside of Sitges, and you’ll feel as though you’ve time traveled to another era. Sitting proudly on a hillside, the masia—a Catalan manor house—offers picture-perfect views of the Garaf National Park, abounding mountains, and nearby sea. The properties 350 acres are dotted with pear, olive, walnut and almond trees. Vineyards line a few acres too, yielding grapes that produce local favorite: cava. The charming history is balanced by the comforts of modernity. Well-suited for large groups, the villa is equipped with everything for all ages. Have a movie marathon in the home theatre or read a book by the crackling fireplace. Enjoy your glass of wine—a vintage selected right from your own wine cellar—on one of the beautiful terraces or the plush Moroccan lounge. When you fancy a swim, dip into the heated pool and test out the even warmer jacuzzi.  The masia is fit for large families, corporate groups and special events such as gatherings, filming and production launches. Adjoining the masia is the casita, a storybook two-storey cottage, an ideal private are for teenagers or couples to have their own space. Rustic stone walls, soft hues and vibrant furnishings decorate both the casita and masia. Though most original aspects were preserved, the windows were enlarged to allow even more sunlight to illuminate the space. Bright sun shines in from dawn until dusk. A total of ten bedrooms in the main house can accommodate up to 28 guests and one bedroom in the casita can receive an additional two. The primary bedroom on the first floor is furnished with a king size bed, sofa bed, en suite bathroom and a lovely sun terrace. Four other bedrooms also boast a king size bed and en suite bathroom, while the others have either two twins, queen size or double beds. A stay at Almiral de la Font promises you will get a true taste of Catalan culture. Surrounded by gorgeous grounds and living in a simple yet elegant masia will leave you with a new understanding of this way of life. Amongst the 14 kilometers of private tracks you will also find pear, olive, cherry, walnut and almond trees in addition to many naturally growing herbs and vegetables (asparagus, rosemary and mushrooms). The house, a protected building and fortified masia, was built before 1592 and was extended in 1800. It has been and continues to be a significant landmark in the Garraf area and was formerly used for winemaking and farming. Though totally renovated and adapted to a high standard of modern comfort, the original details have been preserved, in particular the wine presses and bodega. The windows have been enlarged to allow in more natural light. Balconies and terraces have been added.
