I am a mother of nine, grandmother of fourteen, and great-grandmother of 1 1/3!!!
The apartment is in a very convenient location - a short walk from cafes, grocery shops, restaurants and bars galore. The area is hilly (Beacon Hill), so expect a bit of a workout while walking around.
Donna had everything ready, exactly as promised in her communications leading up to the day of my check-in. The apartment was clean and met all my needs. One must note that it is a four floor walk-up, so checking in and out might be a little troublesome if one has a lot of stuff. Also, being in a historic neighborhood, the apartment itself is dated, and this is evident from within. The kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything needed to whip up a meal; there was a welcome gift basket too. The bathroom was stocked up with basic toiletries. The bedroom has a closet with enough hangers for one's clothes, a dresser and a bed which seemed comfortable enough to me. The dining table in the living room is against the windows overlooking Revere street and is perfect for meals, unless one prefers eating on the couch.
Overall, I had a very comfortable stay. Donna was super responsive to my every query, and did a great job ensuring that I was all set.
This was my first AirBnB experience and everything worked out great. The apartment was perfect for me. I was travelling for work and it had everything I needed to make my stay easy and enjoyable - from dishwasher liquid, cooking oil and even quarters for the washing machine and dryer in the basement. Plenty of space for one person and would easily suit a couple. Donna was fantastic! She answered all my queries within about an hour of sending the message. Her instructions were clear and everything was as described. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
Comfortable and cozy place. Donna was also responsive to queries and was quick to resolve a small issue.
One improvement is to make sure the wireless extend to the bedroom too.
If you want a clean, quaint and authentic place to stay in Beacon Hill. Look no further.
Our family (myself, my husband and our four mounths old baby we were in the apartment one month and we liked it. Location is excellent, you can walk and enjoy the city of Boston. All what we needed found in the apartment.
The apartment is wonderfully located both for business and vacation. From the bay window you may enjoy the view on Beacon Hill roofs, the morning sun and the colors of the city sunset
After the second time you walk up the hill doesn't seem steep anymore and being near to the top keeps you away from of the noise of Charles St and Cambridge St.
The living room is cosy, the kitchen well designed and fully working (dishwasher included!).
The space is small, but it has everything you'll need for a city stay, plus a lot of closets.
You won't be short of snacks, toiletries, towels and linens.
Donna and Bill are very responsive and quickly take care of all the issues.
I was in Boston for a few weeks for work, and I wanted to find something cheaper than a hotel. Donna was a very pleasant host to deal with, both via phone and e-mail. I was in a pickle, trying to find a place to stay on short notice, and her quick response time was a huge convenience.
The unit is a cozy two bedroom in the lower floor. There was food, towels, soap, cable, Wi-fi… all the amenities I could’ve asked for. She even left quarters to do laundry for free across the street, which I thought was really nice. The 5-minute walk to the Red Line was ideal for those mornings when I woke up kind of late to go to work. The neighborhood was also a huge bonus because Cambridge Ave and Charles Ave are teeming with restaurants and coffee shops, so I never had to walk too far to get a bite to eat.
Svar fra Donna:
Hope you come back soon Marco. You're a great guy!
Me and two friends stayed at Donna's place for about a month. The apartment is very cozy and well located. The neighbourhood is one of the nicest in Boston with gas lamps and brick buildings. Donna was always very polite and friendly. She was kind enough to leave some initial supplies when we arrived like quarters for the washing machine and some food. Will definitely recommend both the place and the owner. :)
This place was exactly as advertised. It's a but quirky, but if you have ever lived in Beacon hill before (or in any large city), you know that space is at a premium. My wife and I stayed with out 8 and 10 year old.
Place is clean, and is in a great location. We had no problems during our stay and greatly enjoyed having a working kitchen during vacaiton. It's a 3 minute walk to the Charles/MGH station on the red line as well as all the great shopping and dining in the Beacon Hill area.
We found the place to be quite relaxing and we'd definitely stay here again.
Traveling to Boston from Kansas with our family of 4 (kids ages 6 & 10), this was a great home base to spend a week. The kitchen is great, the front entryway can double as a dining area and the location is amazing. Be sure to plan for a picnic in the public garden (and Donna has the basket available)!
The rooms are small, but pretty typical for an urban apt. As a family we had a great time and the hospitality was great.
Be warned that this apt is near the height of Beacon Hill, so if you stay here and go out to dinner and have a beverage, the hill seems much bigger as you come back from either Charles St or Cambridge St.
