Technologist, yogi, entrepreneur, family man - Not "the most interesting man in the world," but when I do drink beer - I drink Dos Equis.
The location of the apartment is perfect as a jumping off point for exploring SF. The transportations stops are at a walking distance. Dave was very helpful. We enjoyed a lot.
It is a very nice place to stay. The room is big and comfortable. The kitchenette is very efficient and handy.
I stood here for almost 1 month and my overall experience was great.
Location was wonderful, steps from the grocery store and lake Merritt, and short walk to wonderful Saturday farmers market. The studio was very cozy and suited our needs. The only complaints would be that the apt did not appear to have been deep cleaned prior to our arrival and the kitchen is lacking in some basics if you enjoy cooking.

The apartment is simply perfect as a jumping off point for exploring SF. The bed is comfy, the kitchen VERY well stocked, everything high quality, and plenty of room!
I can't recommend it more!
I spent ten days at Dave’s place in Oakland. The apartment is cozy and fully equipped, including wireless internet. I love the location: few steps from the beautiful lake Merrit boulevard/park. There are a grocery store and a pharmacy across the street, bus stops and few restaurants within walking distance. Dave is a very kind gentleman and a great host. He was very accommodating to my needs: My plane was leaving at 7:30 pm and he let me stay till 4.00 pm without extra charge (check out time is 11:00 am).
The location was great, super convenient for walking around the Lake and getting up to the Grand Lake Theater area as well as Downtown. All the basic amenities, plus convenient grocery shopping, and a nice fast internet connection.
Dave's place is wonderful, and I agree with all that others have said. So very quiet and comfortable, and perfectly located. I go to SF a lot for work and have stayed quite a few places, and Dave's is now at the top of my list. Comfy bed! He was easy to reach and accommodating, thorough.
I would recommend this apartment. It's not the Ritz, but it's fine.
My wife and I stayed in this flat for two months needing a place to live temporarily after selling our home in San Francisco. We found this apartment suited our needs perfectly.
This ground floor studio apartment is small but comfortable. The furnishings appeared to come from garage sales, but they are serviceable. The double bed was very comfortable. There is a flat screen TV with cable access (though we never used it). The Wifi Internet connection was very good and fast.
There is a small but serviceable kitchen, which was very useful for our long stay. One negative; very little hot water from the kitchen faucet.
The bathroom is also small, but serviceable. There is hot water, but one need to let it run a long time it arrives. Have patience and allow time in the morning...
There is ample storage space in the closet.
The best feature of this apartment is its location just a few steps away from beautiful Lake Merritt, the jewel in the heart of Oakland. What a treat to walk around its shore observing the ever-changing bird population. It is a very pleasant walk to the shopping areas on Lakeshore and Grand Avenues with excellent shops and restaurants. It's a 15 minute walk (mostly along the Lake) from the apartment to the Lake Merritt BART station.
Insider tip: be sure to visit the nearby Oakland Museum of California. They have regular events there every Friday night with music, food trucks and half-price admission to the museum.
While we walked everywhere including to Jack London Square during our stay, we also utilized BART regularly to get to San Francisco as well as to and from the San Francisco airport.
Though we also had a car, we never had a problem finding street parking nearby.
Dave was a great host and quickly responded to any issues or questions we had.
Fall 2013: I enjoyed my stay here over the span of several weeks.
The place is exactly as shown in the pics, well kept, comfy (esp. the bed) and clean! There are two space heaters to keep the place warm and toasty during colder days. The kitchen is well stocked upon arrival with breakfast stuff, and a bottle of wine awaits! The other residents in the building are nice, as I met several of them.
The location is central - Excellent to explore the City of SF and easy access to public transportation. Walking distance to groceries, dining and entertainment.
Dave is easy to reach, communicates well throughout the Airbnb process and follows up regularly to ensure everything is going well.
Only downside is, if you are a light sleeper, the noise coming from residents using the stairs may bother you. This is typical of all older buildings in big cities (NY, Boston, SF), so nothing unusual here. Just bring ear plugs - quick easy fix for all the other pros of staying at this place!
Yes, I would recommend staying here, and would enjoy staying here again if I am back in SF. Thanks for having me Dave!
