I live in San Francisco, but my soul is usually hovering somewhere above the high deserts of New Mexico. Music is my first language, but I speak a smattering of Spanish and am fairly fluent in operatic Italian and German. I am dangerously over-educated with a B.A. in Music from Rice University, an M.Div. from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. from Drew University. My partner Colleen and I have been together for over 12 years and love to travel - especially to places where great music is to be found. We have rented apartments in Rome and Paris and spent a magical week on an olive farm in Fiesole. We regularly go to Santa Fe for the opera and chamber music festival and to Sea Ranch to practice the restorative pursuits of cooking, reading, hiking, and napping. When I was in high school, I was given a letter opener with this phrase from the prayer of St. Francis and I think it fits me: "Where there is sadness, let me sow joy".
