Masca is a small mountain village on the island of Tenerife. The village is home to around 90 inhabitants. The village lies at an altitude of 650 m in the Macizo de Teno mountains, which extend up to the northwestern most point of Tenerife. Forests including cypresses and palm trees abound. The village lies at the head of the Masca Gorge. The trail from the village down the gorge to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean is a popular, though strenuous, hiking route, which takes about 3 hours each way.

Diese außergewöhnliche Tour führt durch eine der schönsten Schluchten Teneriffas. An den engsten Stellen ist der Barranco de Mascara nur 30 m breit und die Felswände steigen bis 600 m empor. Nach knapp 5 km wandern, wird man mit einem Bad im Atlantik belohnt. Badesachen nicht vergessen. Achtung: Die Wanderung ist anspruchsvoll ; sorgen sie für entsprechendes Schuhwerk.

Un piccolo villaggio, una volta rifugio di pirati Le casette del Caserío de Masca sono allineate sul crinale delle montagne. Occupano praticamente ogni spazio abitabile, inerpicati sull'abisso tracciato dalle gole più profonde dell'isola. Il Belvedere di Cherfe (sulla strada che arriva da Santiago del Teide) regala una stupenda veduta panoramica del complesso abitato.
