Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. A small beach is a 2 minute walk away. The family room and kitchen face Lake Michigan with lots of windows. The house has a queen bedroom, queen pullout in family room, and laundry. A gas FIRE PIT and a HOT TUB are located on the back patio directly on Lake Michigan with a spectacular view behind the main house.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This 500 square foot cabin is conveniently located off 1-94 Exit 22, it seems like a world away from the hustle and bustle, yet close to everything. Built in the 1930's or 1940's I have kept the wonderful original woodwork, but updated the cottage with a new bathroom and a complete kitchen. Steps away from the Michigan State Park of Grande Mere known for its miles of trails through the woods, dunes, inland lakes, and access to Lake Michigan.
