Wee Nook- a Hobbit Hole

Wee Nook is a 360 square foot living space with a full kitchen and bathroom. It is tucked underground in the middle of the woods. Please come enjoy the woods, farm animals, trails, pond and wide open space while you're here! As JRR Tolkien said: “In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hold, and that means comfort.”

Welcome to the new Blue Hobbit Home! This is the smaller unit of a "duplexed" property. This is an earth-integrated retreat nestled among 14k foot mountains and beneath some of the world's starriest skies. Designed to accommodate 4 guests, our property offers an infrared sauna, a fire pit, and modern comforts. We're an hour drive from the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Pets welcome. Be mindful that guests from the adjacent unit may be present on the property. Where healing meets elegance.

Peaceful and secluded retreat to unplug and unwind. This off‑the‑grid experience has no electricity or flushing toilets, we do provide the essentials: running hot water, an outhouse, all the firewood you will need and propane lighting. Stay includes access to a handcrafted, wood‑fired hot. Four-wheel-drive, or high-profile two-wheel drive vehicles are needed to get to the cabin. We must greet guests at arrival to show you how to use the propane lights.

Forest stay in underground cedar Gully huts where you walk between structures and separate bathhouse. You won't run into anyone, this is a secluded getaway. Collect eggs, pick berries or hang out by the fire pit, hike to the creek and waterfalls, but don’t forget to pack bug spray and a sense of adventure!
