On the edge of our family homestead overlooking meadow & forest, this tiny house offers a quiet, cozy refuge only 45 minutes from Acadia National Park. There's a twin day bed on the ground floor & a double futon in the loft. Tiny kitchen & bathroom with shower (2 temps: hot or cold) too. A heat pump keeps the place toasty warm or nice and cool. Our family's gazebo, grill, fire pit, hammock, trails & garden are shared with guests. A beautiful beach across the bay from Acadia is down the road.

Flower Farm Loft

When you arrive at the Flower Farm Loft you're greeted by our dogs, who will likely jump on you with muddy paws and request fetch and pets. You're immediately surrounded by flowers in our gardens and flower studio. The loft has big east facing windows that look over our farm and surrounding fields. You'll open the curtains in the morning to incredible sunrises over Kilkenny Cove, and end your nights at your private fire pit with immaculate star filled skies that will make it hard to go inside.

Our 1847 farmhouse is centrally located on Mt.Desert Island. A private entrance leads to an upstairs, sunlit, suite with a queen bedroom, living room with futon, private bath, and kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffeemaker. The house and stable, which once served the livery needs of Mt. Desert, are located on one of the major island roads. Acadia NP, Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and the 'Quiet Side' of MDI are all close by, but be prepared for summer traffic.

RUTH'S PLACE is a cozy home private location close to Southwest harbor & Bar Harbor. Located on the west (“quiet") side of Mount Desert Island, 2 minutes from Acadia National Park hiking trails, Echo Lake Beach, downtown Southwest Harbor; 25 minutes to Bar Harbor. Our location is beautiful and quiet, surrounded by woods. This apartment is on the 2nd level; it offers privacy: your own driveway, exterior entrance and patio area all to yourself! It feels secluded. 2024: new deck and heat pump (air conditioning, no humidity!) make it better than ever this year!
