In Sweden alcohol can only be sold in Systembolaget stores, and this is your closest one. A delight to shop in, it is well-stocked and well-organised - but do plan your visits since it's closed on Sundays, only open 10am - 3pm on Saturdays, and 10am-6 or 7pm on week days.

Parks & Nature
Svartedalen (Black valley) is a nature reserve with plenty of hiking trails, about an hour's drive from the island. This location is a bothy where there is parking and where some trails start. Please make sure you have a map!!

Sightseeing
Take the car or bus (or walk if you wish, it's 6km following the main road) to Marstrand, which is a town over two islands, Koön (Cow Island) och Marstrandsön. The bus stop & parking is on Koön, but most of old Marstrand, including a 17th century fort Marstrands fästning, is on Marstrandsön which is a pedestrian zone, so get on the 5 min ferry to explore it. It's a beautiful, picturesque place with cobbled streets and old wooden houses, and supposedly great seafood (but bring a packed lunch if you're veggie). The fort is great for kids.

Beautiful little island typical of the Bohuslän area, which you can access with a ferry from Rökan (just before the bridge) in summer. Bring your swimming costume!

Once upon a time this was a hub of the Bohuslän herring industry. Now it's a quaint island with a proud heritage. Very picturesque.
