You really get a great sense of the history of the Northeast Kingdom touring the museum as well as the other out buildings on the premises here, an active forge, barn with old farm equipment, old school house, grange, etc. Worth a day trip...even on a rainy day! There is a room for each town in Orleans county. Check out the Checkerboard from our house in the Irasburg room!

Be sure to try the always freshly baked banana bread! Head over in the AM and it's often still warm from the oven!

Kate's gardens are AMAZING! Worth a stroll through her nursery to see the abundant varieties of plants that have grown through her true labor of love! She's a great lady and her plants are healthy and reasonably priced for homegrown! I have many of her plants in my garden at True North!
