Multiple Bars and Restaurants within or adjacent to Waterford Lakes Town Center. On Alafaya Trail. From house, exit neighborhood entry on Rouse Road turning left. Turn left on Colonial. Turn Right on Alafaya Trail. Waterford Lakes Town center is less than one mile up the road, less than 3 miles from the house. Also, turning right on Rouse Road, go about 1 mile to University Drive and turn right. This is food places and bars of all types all the way to Alafaya that caters to UCF crowd. Something for everyone. 10 minutes.

And this doesn't even begin to cover all the other fun activities that are waiting for you in The City Beautiful... Orlando! And ALL of it is less than 40 minutes from your house in Orlando!

Parks & Nature
Walk, cycle or just sit back and relax and take in the peaceful setting along the Little Econ River. Watch closely and you'll even see alligators in the river.. really! Lots of outdoor play gym areas; picnic and BBQ areas; soccer fields; and miles of hiking trails. There is even a full service YMCA at the park entrance. You can walk there from the house (about 2 miles - 5 minutes - to center of park) but most people drive and park then explore from there.

Arts & Culture
Wonderful professional plays playing most days of the week in this beautiful theater located in Loch Haven Park off Princeton Street. The park is also home to several other venues but the Science museum is a must see for families. 20 minutes.

Just taking in the ambiance of this fantastic center is worth the admission to any play or concert you would attend. Multiple performing arts venues year round within its glass walls. Parking is an issue so map a parking garage before you head out so you won't wander the streets of downtown Orlando endlessly! While you're downtown, you might want to visit Church Street Station for additional night light and restaurants. Of course, we also have professional soccer and basketball, with their own stadiums, also downtown. 15 minutes.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

And if you spend the day stretching into the early evening, you will find a plethora of great restaurants to choose from. During holidays, this town is a magnet for visitors from all over the world, and to all of us that live in Orlando. If you get a chance, one of the several art and crafts fairs they have annually will be a really fun day.

Rocket Launches almost every month, sometimes multiple in one month, can be seen from Orlando on a clear day. Most people get closer and then park alongside non-highway roads. Also has a great space museum and multiple nearby beaches for a full day of fun.
