A small cafe on the way to the sea...with a menu offering something for all and though not huge platefuls , staff will 'mix and match' !!!
Staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Sightseeing
This English Heritage Castle is a must. Luckily there is a tea shop after the climb and often wine tasting sessions. The visitors guide details historic events from the twelfth century, the views are stunning and you can sit in peace and tranquility gazing out to sea. (unless there is a re-enactment scheduled for that day when you will be visually drawn into the blood(?) and thunder of the battle.)

This English Heritage Castle is a must. Luckily there is a tea shop after the climb and often wine tasting sessions. The visitors guide details historic events from the twelfth century, the views are stunning and you can sit in peace and tranquility gazing out to sea. (unless there is a re-enactment scheduled for that day when you will be visually drawn into the blood(?) and thunder of the battle.)
It is a must....fishing boats, sailing ships, motor boat rides, Pirate Ship (?) Fish Market.

Parks & Nature
When you come out of the castle you can walk down to the beach through Royal Albert Park a meandering climb down where you will see and hear many species of birds. You may be lucky to see deer and of course you will see the sea!
You can also walk up from the beach to the castle!

Go a low tide and forage in the rock pools, paddle or build castles in the sand!
Visit the Spa....Visit the Grand hotel and marvel at the ornate plaster-work and take yourself back in time to when it was the best hotel in Europe visited by the countries wealthiest and aristocratic personages.
Travel on the funicular to save another climb!
Many places to have a breather and drink.
Family and dog friendly BUT look for signs as to which beach is allocated for families with dogs.
