Gulf State Park is a public recreation area on the Gulf of Mexico in the city of Gulf Shores. In addition to beaches, the park includes marshland, boggy tea-colored streams, pine forests, and three spring-fed, fresh-water lakes: Lake Shelby, Middle Lake, and Little Lake.

The Gulf State Park’s Bike Share program is a unique concept that allows visitors to borrow a bike for up to three hours. Riders can use one of 50 complimentary bikes free of charge. If you’re still exploring after that, you can keep exploring with your bike for a small charge.

Gulf State Park Pier offers a great fishing experience for any angler, beginner or seasoned. A variety of species can be caught from the Pier depending on the time of year: Sheepshead, Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, Florida Pompano, King Mackerel, Whiting and more!
Daily Fishing fee: $9.00
Rod & Reel Rentals for 4 Hours: $10.00 or All Day: $20.00
Sightsee All day: $2.00
Children 11 years old and under fish for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
Parking Pay Stations (Kiosks) are in place at the Gulf State Park Fishing and Education Pier and the Beach Pavilion in Gulf Shores and at the public beach accesses in Orange Beach - Romar Beach, Cotton Bayou, Alabama Point and Shell Beach.
$3.00 - 2 hours for personal vehicle
$5.00 - 4 hours for personal vehicle
$10.00 - All day for personal vehicle
Veterans park free.
Daily anglers who pay the $10.00 daily parking fee will also receive one daily pier fishing permit included with their parking.

Remember, an Alabama salt water fishing license is required.
◼︎Gulf State Park Pier: To fish from this pier is $9 per day but well worth it for the catch, view and overall experience for the whole family.
◼︎ Lake Shelby Pier, Gulf State Park: One of the best is the small pier reaching a hundred yards into the water. It's secluded. Be prepared to have your line broken by a small alligator as they're definitely out there.
◼︎ Little Lagoon Pass: Little Lagoon Pass is a small outlet to the Gulf. You have the opportunity to catch almost any of the inshore species found in Alabama.
