If you would like to grab a quick coffee, this shop is a walking distance. But I would still drive there. Few tables inside and outside.

This shop is a bit driving distance but has a nice patio seating. Also, close to Fair Oaks Bluffs and walking bridge.

Nice ambiance, delicious food and very reasonably priced. Best chicken coconut soup! Drunken noodles, I don’t know what they put in it but it’s hard to stop eating them.

Great pizza made with love and reasonably priced. They offer some unique items originating from Caucasian cuisine. Tell the owner Sam you are my guests and I recommended the place.

My favorite sushi place ever. And a favorite to many locals. Try Japanese Mafia roll, Italian roll or their dinner for two for $50.

The best cakes in town in my opinion. My favorite is strawberry white chocolate mousse cake. Cozy place to go out for a cup of tea or coffee with desert or for breakfast. Linch and dinner also available. Outdoor heated and covered patio.

Sightseeing

Little known spot even to locals, opens up nice views. Park your car in Fair Oaks Village. Walk the streets, stop at shops and boutiques, (there might me a play in outdoor theater in progress if you are lucky), observe varying styles of architecture, walk into the walking bridge, enjoy the views. Then go back towards village and turn right as soon as you get off bridge. A steep trail will take you up to the bluffs. The oaks over 100 years old. It’s a historical place. (Go to Fair Oaks Water District webpage to learn more how that area was developed with settlers from the East coast 100 years ago). If you still want to do more, go back on the bridge and go down and follow bike trail or pedestrian trail, which is closer to the river, and take a leisurely walk to soak in the views.

Old Sacramento is a great place for a leisurely stroll while looking inside shops, perhaps visiting railroad museum. Go down to the river, enjoy restaurants. The buildings are over 100 years old, some still have the original glass in windows. If you look closely, you will find it. The buildings look two stories high but they are actually three stories high. The ground was raised due to flooding. So the first floor is now basement in most buildings.
