The Military road and Compton Bay is one of my favourite drives and walks!
It's just so beautiful and open and gives you a real sense of being somewhere special.
As a destination it's perfect for all sorts of occasions: family beach trip, surfing, swimming, walking, scenic drive, romance, sunset, picnic, dog walks

Compton Bay and Downs
The Military road and Compton Bay is one of my favourite drives and walks!
It's just so beautiful and open and gives you a real sense of being somewhere special.
As a destination it's perfect for all sorts of occasions: family beach trip, surfing, swimming, walking, scenic drive, romance, sunset, picnic, dog walks
While the High Street is a little run down, if you head down to the seafront, find a parking space, and spend a few hours walking, eating and breathing in the fresh air.
I'd recommend:
- the Jurassic Coastal walk along to Steephill Cove
- The Smoking Lobster - booking advisable
- The Met
- Ventnor Botanical Gardens

Lovely scenic loop to walk 😍

Gorgeous little Bay.
Good for watersports.
