This place is always changing. You can hike there from our back yard up the trail or drive there and walk around the acres of beautiful gardens. If you have children, don't miss the nature center and the freed-man homestead (at the south parking lot), or the kids gardens at the north end of Brookside gardens. With every season there are new flowers, plants, and changing beauty.

This place is so closeby, and we recently discovered it and had a great time exploring it. It took a whole afternoon. Kids would love it too as you actually get to ride in a trolley.

I can't wait to go to this interactive science museum located in the local National Oceanic headquarters. Unfortunately, it seems to be closed currently due to Covid, but check back when things settle down. This appears to be a local gem.

This beautiful lake is surrounded by hiking trails, areas of picnic tables, and places to rent paddle boats and row boats. We can ride here from our house (mostly paved trails with a little road), and come back through Rock Creek Park and then Matthew Hensen trail. It's a great 26ish mile ride.
