These recommendations are a must see when you are in Colorado Springs. Some are a distance from Colorado Springs but worth the travel given the views along the way.

If you are a hiker then this is the place for you. From the bottom of Cheyenne Canyon is Starsmore Discovery Center. Behind the discovery center is the beginning of the Columbine Trail. This trail is a total of 8 miles. The trail is split into three sections if you don't want to travel the entire 8 miles. The upper Columbine Trail will end at the top which is where you will find Helen Hunt Falls. Really a nice place to visit. The surroundings are beautiful.

This restaurant is a bit of a drive up Ute Pass and to the west about 40 minutes. The views are exceptional all along Ute Pass. The restaurant is Irish cuisine with many on tap beers available. The view from this restaurant is phenomenal

This toll road will take you to the top of Pikes Peak. There is shopping and food at the top. If you are coming from lower elevation please think about taking some canned air with you. Most stores with sporting goods will have the canned oxygen. The elevation at the top is over 14,000 feet.

This castle is a must see. They offer tea time most days. I believe not on Tuesdays though. Some visitors enjoy dressing up as real castle royalty to enjoy their tea and brunch. Others come casual to dine . This is a favorite of mine. There really is nothing else comparable to this experience. It is about 15 minutes from the Bluebird. Reservations can be made online. Location details: enter the property and veer left follow the road and you will encounter a guard shack they will direct you to the castle.

This is a strip of food and drink venues. The brewery is very popular with the locals.
This brewery is walking distance from The Bluebird Cottage. Just a couple of blocks to your East. This building used to be a school and is now reclaimed as a popular brewery and restaurant strip . There are rental bikes available for use at this site as well.

This is a place to take the kids. It is a Christian radio broadcasting studio.
This is an actual radio station that broadcasts Christian radio. Another special thing about this site is the attractions that are with children in mind. There is a play area, a small café, and a two story slide that is so much fun for the kids.

There is a tetra pond there with lily pads and ducks. Extensive gardens and the view of Pikes Peak seems uninterrupted. There is a playground for the kids. Also a really special tribute wall and tribute gardens.

This is much more than a park. There is a lake here that you can rent paddle boats at to allow for full enjoyment of this centrally located park. Lots and lots of room to run and enjoy. The City has made this park a fun place to enjoy.
