Food scene

If you want a fabulous raw bar, seafood, and one of the best lobster rolls in town, head to Neptune. It's pricey and small but the quality is very high. Turn left on Salem and walk to the last block of the North End (it's on the left next to Pauli's), put your name in and then wait for a few hours. It's always booked during peak season so head down early to get in. Opens at 11:30 am. They accept credit cards.

While Mike's might be the go-to for tourists, Modern has (in my opinion), the better cannoli. They hand fill them on order and even offer a GF version! Cash only! Open late but often a line. If you're feeling gluttonous, go for the lobster tail (just looks like a lobster tail, has nothing else to do with lobster). It's a giant pastry stuffed with cream that could feed four!

If you don't mind a ten-minute walk, head to Tatte. It has fabulous coffee, pastries, and food in a French-style setting. The house latte with oat milk is delicious as are the breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They have one of the best croissants in town as well. It's hard to go wrong.

Sightseeing

Turn right on Hanover or left on Salem and keep walking until you get to the stoplight. Cross the road and you have hit the Greenway. If you turn left on it, you can follow it down the city. It's a little slice of greenery in the city that is lovely for a walk, to sit and swing, sunbathe, have a picnic, or just people watch.

The Freedom Trail is 2.5 miles (4 km) long and to walk it will likely take you an entire day. Plan on it taking longer if you have children or want to spend more time at any of the sites. If you start at the North Church (one block from the apartment), just follow the red and blue bricks on the ground to get to the next site.
