Coffee! FOOD!

Sassafras and Olinda have lots of cafes, restaurants and takeaways to try, but these are our MUST list;
Sit in and have a coffee and a pastry at Proserpina Bakery which is 4 min walk from our house, next door to the Chojo Bonsai gallery - the food is life changing! You'll have to take away your coffee in a jam jar if you're wanting takeaway cup as they are eco friendly and don't offer disposable coffee cups. They're German bakers. You can tell. BYO stretchy pants.

For a late night dinner and wine by the fire, there's Dudley's in Olinda which is a 5 min drive. We love their wood fired pizzas because the bases are super thin and delicious. They're open reasonably late on a Friday and Saturday evening also.

King Henry Arts cafe is a nice brunch location. They have a nice outdoor deck with umbrellas which overlooks their rainforest backyard and ponds. The coffee is good and your dog is welcome.

If you're after a bit more of an up market dinner with a bit of style, try Olinda Tea House. Despite the name, it's actually a Chinese restaurant with an on-site lama herd ( keeps the kids entertained ) the food is a little bit pricey for the area but really delicious and a walk around the zen garden makes for a lovely outing and worth the trip.
