I think, when the weather is good, the contact with nature is important to recharge batteries. so Villa Borghese is one of this place where to go for a picnic or to just make a good jogging session. lovely place for adult and child.

The Triumphal market is considered the first Roman street market, it is certainly the largest with its 273 banks and is among the largest in Italy and even in Europe. Opened on Viale Giulio Cesare at the end of the nineteenth century, for years it was a place of transit for those who went hunting or out of town and stopped by horse or wheelchair to refuel for animals and people.

Le Guide ai Quartieri

The Monti district in Rome is the district of art galleries and wineries. After a long period of urban reorganization, it is today the mecca of all the young tourists traveling to the capital. It borders the Rome of the Fori Imperiali and the Esquilino district. A few steps from the district there are the magnificent basilicas of Santa Maria Maggiore with the characteristic Cosmatesque floor and that of San Pietro in Vincoli which houses Michelangelo's famous Moses. Between two large arterial roads, the Via Cavour and the Via Nazionale, contains the Suburra, the ancient "Sub Urbe" district - under the city -, whose basements emerge from the Colosseum. Its poor streets are made of cobblestones, and its alleys at night are breathtakingly beautiful. And the whole neighborhood revolves around the small square of Madonna dei Monti, with the characteristic Fontana dei Catecumeni designed by the architect Giacomo della Porta which is the main meeting place for both inhabitants and tourists. The locals in the area cross the streets without a pavement but this also contributes to its charm. Gourmet shops and slow food restaurants dot the streets, but wineries have sustainable prices. In Monti there is Stecchiotti, the butcher of presidents of the Republic: Ciampi and Napolitano. And there is via del Boschetto, the street in Rome with the most restaurants per square meter. Worth noting is "I tre scalini", a place with twentieth-century furnishings specializing in salads and scamorza. Among the pizzerias of the neighborhood, famous is that of "Le Carrette" with an unbeatable value for money and known for the courtesy of its conductors and waiters. Do not miss the dishes of the trattoria "Da Valentinto" on Via Urbana: authentic Roman cuisine, wild boar, grilled mushrooms and stewed snails, strong dishes. The district bakery on Via dei Serpenti is today a brasserie known throughout the city for breakfast. Next door, via Panisperna, a place of famous restaurants from the time of the Dolce Vita, takes its name from the Latin Panis et perna (bread and ham) left to history for the Institute of physics where Enrico Fermi gathered around him the most brilliant physicists of the first years 30 'of the twentieth century. Monti still has a network of small traders and artisans who give you the impression that time has stopped. They are gilders, chromators, carpenters, blacksmiths, old-fashioned tradesmen dressed as antique dealers. There is one of the most famous vintage markets in Rome. And then there are them, the painters and the art galleries. Small but precious, like the Fondaco gallery. There are pubs, where English-speaking tourists gather and then sing in the streets at night. In Monti there are the artists, the gay friendly places, the fast free wireless Internet: the three "T's" by Richard Florida: talent, tolerance, technology. In Monti there are bed & breakfasts, nuns, the Ukrainian church, the university. The director Mario Monicelli dedicated an intense portrait to him in the short film presented at the Venice Film Festival. Monti, a neighborhood not to be missed for those visiting the eternal city.
