Ventura Pier Beach in Ventura, California The sandy beach at Ventura Pier is the main central beach of Ventura. The San Buenaventura City Pier is an old wooden structure on wooden pilings that attracts fishermen and tourists who visit the Ventura waterfront. The view from the beach and the pier looks out over Pierpont Bay toward the Channel Islands. If you come to this beach, at least plan on walking the pier and consider walking north on the paved Ventura Promenade pathway to Surfers Point Park. South of Ventura Pier is San Buenaventura State Beach which is also accessible via the Promenade. From downtown just head toward the ocean on California Street and you’ll get to the pier. For access to Ventura Pier Beach, there is a large parking structure next to the Crown Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel just off Harbor Boulevard. Another option is the northern parking lot for San Buenaventura State Beach which is right behind the beach (entrance is south of the pier). Restaurants are available on the pier and at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Bikes, beach chairs, and body boards are available for rent at the pier 7 days a week in summer and on weekends in the winter months.
