Food and Drink shopping scene
As well as the great number and variety of local restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk from the apartment, Mogan has two recently refurbished supermarkets, Spar and Superdino, which both include a large selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, bakery, delicatessen, soft drinks/beer/wine, ice creams, newspapers etc.
SuperDino is one of two large supermarkets (located about a 5 minute walk from the apartment). The other supermarket is a Spar which is located across the road from the apartment 2 minutes walk away. Both supermarkets sell a huge range of food and drink and each have their own bakery and delicatessen. The supermarkets are open 7 days a week from 0800 to approximately 2100.

Getting Around
Bus station (which serves the airport, Playa Del Ingles, Las Palmas and intermediate resorts is less than two minutes walk to/from the apartment.

Neighbourhoods
The beach, with its shelving soft sand, including wooden walkways and foot washing facilities lead onto the cocoon like sea area. This is fringed by its beautiful newly constructed esplanade with a wide range of local shops, selling clothing, shoes, perfumes and other tourist items. It benefits from a wide variety of good quality restaurants, open for breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner as well as bars located only a few minutes walk from the apartment. Its also a great place to enjoy the sunset. You can rent pedaloes, canoes, jet skis and also take trips on banana boats etc.

It boasts superb iberico ham and cheeses with some great wines by the glass served by enthusiastic staff. Great early evening spot. Whilst its a very small local shop (less than 2 minutes walk from the apartment on the same side of the road just before you cross the road to the beach) it also has two or three tables outside where you can sit and enjoy your food and wine and watch the world go by. We think its well worth a visit!
Jamonal de Mogán
1 Calle Rivera del CarmenOne of the very few Spanish places in Puerto de Mogan's host of good tourist restaurants, which was refurbished in early 2020. It boasts superb iberico ham and cheeses with some great wines by the glass served by enthusiastic staff. Great early evening spot. Whilst its a very small local shop (less than 2 minutes walk from the apartment on the same side of the road just before you cross the road to the beach) it also has two or three tables outside where you can sit and enjoy your food and wine and watch the world go by. We think its well worth a visit!
Run by an Italian family, this tiny place is predominantly a takeaway but has a few outside tables, which should be booked in advance. Located less than a couple of minutes walk from our apartment and the beachfront. It's set back from the main complex in the old part of town, just off the square with its mosaic seat. The pizzas are recommended and there is also a good range of pasta dishes and salads, plus the obligatory creamy tiramisu. Be sure to be on time as its so popular tables are highly prized.

Located less than a couple of minutes walk from our apartment and the beachfront. It's set back from the main complex in the old part of town, just off the square with its mosaic seat. Located directly in front of the great beach and sea this restaurant is relatively inexpensive. The service is always welcoming and friendly and the food quality is great. They also do a super range of locally made ice creams and deserts from their Gelateria, “La Nostra Venezia”

Peurto de Mogan is known as the Venice of The Canaries, due to its canals and cute little bridges that help you get easily around on foot, whilst exploring this amazing place and its rare find local bars, seaview restaurants and a great variety of shops.

Boat trips
Mogan has many boat trips, including the local ferry to Arguinigin and Amadores, its famous Yellow Submarine as well as charter boats, which can be booked at the kiosk. It could be cheaper to book these in advance via the internet, which can be cheaper than booking on the day.

Use of bottled water
Due to its high mineral content in tap water, which can cause upset tummies in some minor cases we recommend to use bottled water, which is extensively used by everyone (locals and visitors alike) and can be bought widely (still or sparkling) in a wide variety of sizes and brands from all nearby supermarkets, mini-markets, bars and restaurants.

Comfortable non-slip shoes help you get around
The streets around Mogan have tiled pavements with pleasing fish designs, but on the rare occasion they get damp, shoes with non-slip soles can be really useful. Also, some shops have highly polished marble flooring which if you enter with sand still on the soles of your shoes can prove difficult and may cause you to slip, so we'd recommend non-slip/rubber soled shoes if possible

Places of worship in Mogan
Puerto de Mogan has its own small church, Ermita San fernando Church in Playa De Mogan is predominantly a fully registered Catholic church, which is served by a priest on a rotational basis
But being privately owned and one of the owners of it being now of the christian faith it is allowed to use this church for other demonination other than catholic.
We believe that the church does hold services on a Sunday morning at around 10am. The church is located, using the bridge across the canal approximately two minutes walk from the apartment.
