By a legend this was the spot where in 1219, The Danish Flag fell from the sky and led the Danish forces to victory over the Estonians. The victory of the Danes led to the reign of the Danish king in Tallinn and Northern Estonia for more than a hundred years.

Want to go on a Tenet movie set? Here you go... The building was once the biggest concert hall in Tallinn, which was built in 1980 just before the Olympic Sailing Regatta. Now it's slowly decaying. On top of Linnahall you can enjoy a nice view of Tallinn bay.

Neighborhoods

Vibrant bohemian hub located within a former industrial complex in Kalamaja. Used to be an abandoned industrial area, now it's a cool place to hang out, visit the shops and have a nice meal. Places to visit: * La Muu Ice Cream - THE best ice cream in town! * Fotografiska Gallery - world-class photography gallery that exhibits the very best artist from around the world, also features a restaurant on the top floor with a great view. So why not combine the two? * Junimperium Distillery’s Bar - if you like gin and you are in Tallinn, then this place is an absolute must-visit. Distillery that has existed only 3 years but is recognized and renowned in the world from the start, so far receiving average 10 awards per year.

This area used to be an empty industrial eyesore in the 90s-00s, where the same buildings there are now, were on a brink of collapsing. As estonians are a fan of "recycling", now this is another prime example of old-meets-new - same industrial buildings with new contemporary twist. You may find numerous shops and restaurants nestled into this area. If you wish to buy something to bring home, I recommend Kalev chocolate shop! (my personal favourites are white chocolate with blueberries and Maiuspala candy). It's the biggest and oldest chocolate manufacturer in Estonia.

Public transportation is a good way to get around

Although Tallinn city centre is small and you probably have criss-crossed it through, if you wish to go bit out of the centre, it's good to use trams or buses.
Rejse med børn

Public transport have space for strollers

Trains and newer (=low) buses and trams have place for strollers.

We have a quiet nature

Speaking very loudly in public or standing very close to someone (without knowing them) makes people feel uncomfortable

Tallinn Card!

If it's your first time visit and you're here to explore the city, I advise to purchase Tallinn Card, which gives you free entrance to many sights, discounts on others and FREE public transport!

Bring comfy shoes and something warm

If you're here to explore, comfy shoes are a must (cobblestone Old Town... all I need to say) and you always need something warm with you since the weather is often very moody around here.
