Tradition of Čilipi folklore manifestations dates back to 1967. Every Sunday at 11:15 from Easter till the end of October, at the local square in front of the St. Nicholas' Church, after the Sunday Holly Mass, the local folklore ensemble introduces its visitors with the customs and traditions of Konavle region. A visit to Čilipi is also an opportunity to see the County House which treasures valuable ethnological items, as well as to buy an original souvenir ornamented with the famous Konavle embroidery, see presentation of old crafts and taste traditional welcome drink!

If you want to ''feel'' the town - Walk!
Cavtat is a very small town so you can get anywhere by walking. If you ever feel tired, you have an option of coming back to the apartment with the bus or a taxi. In the apartment you will find the bus schedule and I will show you where you have to get off.

You know how Cavtat got the name? Part 1
All the men wanted to marry Captislava, daughter of king of Epidaurus so her father decided to give the hand of his daughter to the man who does one of following things in:
build the city walls, temple, water system or bring the ship filled with silk. Vrsanin managed to build a water system and few days later at the ceremony, Captislava had a honor to drink the first sip from the fountain. However, lizard jumped out from the pipe straight to her lap and Captislava suffered heart failure. After the earthquake, the new town has been built and named after her - Cavtat.

There is one more version. Cavtat - Cvasti. Cvasti - Blossoming. Like a flower. Meaning that Cavtat bloomed like a flower after all the disaster that happened. Let me know which version you like more! I like the other one, more dramatic!
Btw. there is one more legend about the dragon that lived in the cave at Rat peninsula. Interesting, right?
