A short walk to the Governor’s Island ferry (free from 10-11 am on weekends and $2 otherwise) and then a short ferry ride across Buttermilk Channel takes you to a beautiful island park with incredible views of the Statue of Liberty, Lower Manhattan, and Brooklyn. Fields, playgrounds, picnicking, bike rides, and several good food-truck options.
