This is a great communal space that larger groups of people who want to spend their time together but not necessarily in a hotel bar will enjoy. It has a great kitchen and is also a great space to cook and entertain. There are only 3 bedrooms but many other sleeping options. This methodist Cha...læs mere
Fantastic contemporary design, a really beautiful modern home, the pictures do not do it justice! A large, meticulously designed pad with so many lovely little quirky touches like dices built into the workstation. Excellent liason with the hosts!
Ben was an exceptional host. He gave us a thorough tour upon arrival and made us feel right at home. We had everything we needed and access to many things that we sadly didn't have time to take advantage of (like the rooftop deck and that marvelous soaking tub). We wish we could have stayed longer!! Highly recommended.
This was a lovely renovated chapel. Comfortable and clean. Walk-able distance from the town centre and our host was very friendly and welcoming. He even left us a jug of home made lemonade when we woke up in the morning. What a star!
It was overall a really enjoyable experience! The house was very comfortable, exactly like the photos posted, and Ben kindly picked me up from the train station when i arrived. Arrival and departure time were flexible, which was really convenient. The house is in a good location, just a short walk into city center and close to restaurants and grocery stores. Ben and his friends were really welcoming and kindly offered me a glass of wine and to join them for barbecue. It was a really nice stay and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stay in York!
I had a great time staying at Ben's. He was a lot of fun to talk to, and he even helped me put my sunglasses back together that had fallen apart. Not only is Ben a very cool, interesting, laid back guy...his home is INCREDIBLE. I absolutely loved every aspect of it. The bed was great, too! I really do hope to stay with Ben again and next time we'll be cookin' up some good ol' N'awlins style food. :)
I genuinely couldn't recommend Ben's place highly enough. Firstly, the design is incredible. It has even won an award! Ben designed the whole place himself and it's seriously cool - everything stylishly done and well thought out. Our rooms were really clean, comfortable beds and both with their own bathroom. Everything we needed like towels etc was left out. He was such a gracious and friendly host. He made us feel really welcome, was great company and a pleasure to stay with. The communication was fantastic and everything we needed was sent in a clear and concise email. The neighbourhood was quiet and its only a short walk to town. In summary - stay here!
My 20-year old daughter and I had a wonderful stay with William in his home in York. The fascinating city of York is an easy walk out his front door along a lovely riverwalk pathway, making William's home a very good location for lodging and sightseing. And William's home is an engineering and artful creation of his design that greatly enhanced our stay. We both appreciated the handsome, warm details and quality construction that make the lodging warm and inviting. William is a gracious and personable host with whom we enjoyed easy conversation. I would certainly want to stay again with William should I return to York. I am glad to give him a strong recommendation.
Ben was a fantastic host. He made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to be helpful by giving us a ride to town. His house was 'the coolest I've ever been in' and the dog is also very friendly. Recommended if you're ever in York, I'd love to go back for a longer stay!

This is the place you need to stay if you visit York. The house is perfectly situated, Jelle is very friendly and helpful more than a tourist information center. We enjoyed our stay in York, and the house was a big part of it. Moreover, we are also thankful to Jelle because he accepted that we postponed our stay 1 night further even though we requested it in the very last minute.
Wonderful room in a great location, convenient parking and the house is well set up to accomodate guests. Jelle was very helpful and when we left something there kindly posted it back to us for free! Would definitely stay here again if we return to york.
Very nice accommodation and Jelle is very helpful and friendly. Location us ideal for getting into the centre, and particularly good for York Castle Museum (highly recommended!)
The room is clean and comfortable. Location is good , great atmosphere. You can easily walk to anywhere. Jelle is a lovely host and also his daughter, Bella.
Jelle is a nice and helpful person, he describe the address punctually, help us to move our luggage to upstair. We can easily to communicate each other. Room is large enough for us, food for breakfast is provided in a special fridge for us, kitchen can be shared, so he make us felt as comfort as at home. Place is quiet and traffic convenience.
We had a really good airbnb experience. Although when we arrived Jelle was not at home, he gave me very detailed messages to let us get into his house. The room is quiet and warm and the location is perfect which is just near to the city wall.
We had a wonderful stay here. The place was clean and cozy. We had a nice room to ourselves but use of all the common areas. It was a nice quiet area but just a 10 minute walk to the city center. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Just spent a lovely weekend at Jelle's place, pity we didn't get to meet as he's on holiday, but were welcomed by his housemates. Great location, 10 mins walk into town, nice room, comfortable bed and ample tea, coffee, biscuits in our room. Will definitely return on the near future, Thank you Jelle

Had such a nice time staying at jelle's home! he had everything so well thought out for air b&b'ers and even though he wasn't there when we got there it was so easy for us to get in, park and walk into the city centre to shop. Beautiful house, great location and brilliant host, will definitely be back again :) thank you :)
Very nice place, good location, absolutely okay and recommendable for families. Felt very welcomed all the time. Great location almost in the middle of York. Parking was not an issue.
Unfortunately we were unable to meet Jelle as he was away for the weekend. However Jelle kindly left clear instructions and it was very easy to let ourselves in and find the room. The room was clean and comfortable and was in a really good spot, just a few minutes walk into the town centre. The street was very quiet and we slept soundly. Jelle left some parking permits for us so we were able to park directly outside the property. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable room for the weekend in an ideal location. Thanks Jelle!
A wonderful stay in the heart of York - the city wall was the view from my window. Comfortable bed in happy secure house. Thank you Jelle for a lovely tranquil time.
My wife and I had a great experience staying with Jelle and his place. We traveled to York and spent 3 nights. Jelle's residence was very very conveniently located between the city center and the train station in which we arrived and departed. It only took less than 10 minutes to walk from the train station to Jelle's house, and about 5 minutes to the start of the city center. Jelle was a great host, even offering to pick us up from the airport. Unfortunately our train from Cambridge to York was delayed, causing us to arrive a little later. As such, my wife and I missed Jelle when we arrived into York's train station. However, as mentioned before the walk to his house was very short and quite pleasant. Nonetheless, we were greeted by one of Jelle's housemates who showed us around and answered most of our questions before Jelle arrived home to meet with us. Jelle had a binder full of information and material on the many attractions and sites the city of York has to offer. He offered us advice and suggestions for our short stay in York, which did prove valuable as our guide book was short on the things to do and see. Overall our stay with Jelle was great, convenient, and enjoyable. Jelle had all the amenities that he offered us, including breakfast and laundry service (which we definitely needed). Although we didn't see much of Jelle (as he told us at the beginning that he would be away for work) or his housemates, we were able to at least see and talk to him the morning of our departure. In fact, Jelle was kind enough to drive us to the train station, relieving us of having to carry our heavy backpacks even for the short walk. We appreciate Jelle's help during our stay in York and would recommend him for anyone looking for a convenient place to sleep in York!
I loved my stay here! The location was fantastic - very close to the busy main streets, but in a lovely silent street by the old wall. Neither Jelle nor Toby were there when I stayed, but the house and room were wonderful and I had a great time.

This was my first AirBnB experience and Yelle is a great host. I had Bella's room which has a nice comfy double bed and a great view of the wall. Made me feel like i was in Game Of Thrones.
Room was as per photos. Very nice. Toilet also nice and clean. Room is a close walk from the train station and town so it's a great location. Walk slightly further and you have a bug waitrose and morrisons. Jelle is Very friendly and helpful and well prepared. Has a book showing all the info you need from restaurants to wifi password. Also provides coffee and tea and biscuits. Very very thoughtful. There is also a folder for guests to leave or use leftover tickets to attractions, a very nice touch.
Jelle's home was the perfect place to stay for a night in York - it was only a short walk to both the train station and the main city, and the house itself is lovely. We stayed in Bella's room and there wasn't a single problem. Jelle's was really welcoming and gave us loads of suggestions on what to do, where to go and how to get there. We'd definitely stay here again if we came back to York.
Jelle is so amazing! Our train arrived at midnight and he came to pick us home. He gave us many good suggestions about York as well. And the location is nice, only 10 or 15 mins walk to the centre and very quiet, clean. The room is very sweet as well. It was such a wonderful experience and I'll choose Jelle's house next time when I go to York.
Great room in a great location. Jelle was a wonderful host who made my very first airbnb experience smooth and easy. He was even kind enough to give me some suggestions of things to do outside the main tourist area. The room was perfect for what I needed. It was quiet and comfortable. The bed itself was very, very nice to sleep in after long days of walking around the city. I loved that I could see the wall from my room. I would gladly stay here again.
We had a great stay at Jelle. We didn't meet in person but the facetime alternative was very nice. We really liked Bella's room.
We had quite nice night here. The room is very clean. And I strongly recommend it. You can see the York wall here. Jelle is so kind to offer me help though he is so busy. Thanks a lot.
We have a good time.Jelle is very kindful. The house is very tidy and nice.

Perfectly appointed cottage in lovely garden surroundings. Just what we needed for a weekend visiting the great city of York while spending time finding inspiration for our writing. My son loved it too and is still enjoying the fabulous complementary cake! We will definitely be back!
This was our first booking using Airbnb and what a great place we found. It had everything we needed for us and our 10 month old. The communication from Michael was friendly and very clearly explained things to us. Carol saw us in and explained everything we needed to know. The cottage was lovely, clean and tidy. It was great to sit out in the garden and enjoy the summer evening. It was very spacious too, our travel cot fitted in the main bedroom and there was still lots of space to get around. It's a great location for visiting York. All in all we had a fantastic stay and will definitely book again the next time we visit York. Oh, and the chocolate cake was so yummy!
Accommodation was well laid out, with a lovely view of the garden and had everything we needed for a 5 day break close to York. We very much enjoyed our stay (and the chocolate cake on arrival) and would be happy to use it again when visiting York. It was useful to have internet access to research places to visit. Park and Ride was only a short drive away and so too were the supermarkets.
Great place to stay when visiting York or the surrounding area. Cottage was clean with everything you might need to make the stay comfortable. Excellent value, we will be booking again. Thanks
We have just arrived home from a lovely few days at Parsley Cottage. We would highly recommend as Michael was a great host and the location was fantastic for a few day trips in to York. We had a 2 year old with us and the cottage was very suitable for that age. Thanks for having us
Lovely cottage, great for a family. Our kids loved the back garden.
Excellent accueil de la part de Michael, qui nous a mené jusqu'à notre cottage, un élégant trois pièces, tout confort et très propre, dans un bâtiment en U, acollé à d'autres cottages. Nous gardons une impression d'ensemble très positive.
We stayed in Parsley cottage for 4 nights in July. Michael was away so we were greeted by Carol who was lovely, showed us to our cottage and made sure we were settled in and new where everything was! she was always around if we needed anything. Chocolate cake was delicious and nice to enjoy with a cup of tea after traveling. The Gardens surrounding the cottage were beautiful and my two sons enjoyed the space to play! The cottage was just as described, clean and comfortable and in a great location for the Park and Ride into York. Michael provided a travel cot and highchair for us to use too. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to any other families visiting York. Thank you for having us!

Nice place to stay, convenient location and very close to city center. Jelle is really helpful and friendly allways willing to help us. If I came back to York I would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely time staying at Jelle's beautiful home and we would recommend it to everyone. From the incredibly thorough communication to the thoughtfulness around every corner, this is by far one of the best AirBnB experiences we've have ever had. Jelle provided a binder full of local recommendations and was always accessible for any questions or guidance. Highly recommended and we'd love to stay there again.
Jelle was very welcoming and helpful, especially with getting around the city. Me and my girlfriend appreciated it a lot!
I've been travelling to Britain for ages so I can compare Jelle's house with so many: this is one of the best I've been to! The room I was given was big, bright and colourful, the bathrooms were clean, the kitchen was full of space for the guests. I could use the comfortable living room to unwind and even sunbathe in the garden on a lazy Sunday morning. The house has everything you may need: a perfect location and loads of atmosphere, and there's always someone around you can have a chat with. But what makes it special is the host. Thank you Jelle for being so friendly!
When we arrived at Yelle's place, we were received with warm & hospitality by him. He also helped us several place of interests and restaurants at York. His room & toilets were very cleaned. Our family would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for his excellent service. We will definitely visit his place in our next trip.
Nice and charming old house right on the wall. Couldn't ask for a better value. And Jelle provide all the necessary information in a folder to make the stay an enjoyable one.
Very good house. Good location and room is clean and tidy. Jelly is a nice guy and it is really worth living here!

Shared entrance and stairs but self contained once in the loft. The house is in a quiet suburb south of the centre of York. It's not too far into the centre - a 10 minute bus ride or a pleasant 20-30 minute walk along the river Ouse. A lovely attic space, recently converted with a big airy bedroom, a good sized bathroom and a little kitchen area. The loft room has a modern fresh interior in grey, white and brights! There's a lovely comfy king size bed with a feather duvet. You can have a non feather duvet if you like, just let me know. There's also a television, dvd player and selection of dvds. There's a hairdryer too. The bathroom has an electric power shower over a full sized bath. The kitchen has a fridge, kettle and combination microwave. You can borrow an iron and ironing board, just ask. The room has a beautiful view over the back garden and our neighbours' gardens too! It's the best of both worlds as it's a quiet suburban area with leafy streets. Nearby there are pubs with decent food and a row of shops for essential supplies. There's a cycle/foot path at the end of the street and it's an easy 20-30 minute walk into town along the river Ouse past the Millennium Bridge. York is a beautiful city with lots of history and loads to see! Plenty of pubs, restaurants and nightlife.... There are buses into town, and onwards. A shared front door and stairs but once you are in the loft it's self contained.... It really depends, mostly we are a pretty busy family but we are happy to help with anything you need; just let us know! Peaceful green suburbs with easy access to the 'Bright lights'! Free parking on the street, an easy walk to the bus stop and even into town on foot it's under half an hour? I provide tea, coffee and milk. I also provide towels. Also clean 100% cotton bed linen (not ironed)! Our broadband is very slow! Sometimes the water pressure is low, we try not to wash clothes and dishes when you are showering! I suppose that's the difference between a hotel and a home!læs mere
We were most welcome in Theolyn's place. The room as it looks in the pictures, nice, cosy and impeccably clean. The area is quiet and has good connection with town. Had a wonderful time there. Thank you Theolyn!
Lovely host and the room is very spacious and beautiful. We only stayed one night but would highly recommend to anyone. It is a bit of a walk to town 20-25min but located on a very quiet road and we did enjoy the walk.

Perfect place to stay for a city trip to York. Very clean, all in One Room. Good bed and a clean bathroom. It feeks like home, comfortable place. Theolyn and her daughter are kindly and friendly.
Theolyn was very welcoming. The room wih ensuite was as presented. A very comfortable and clean. Would recommend to others as a place to stay in York.
Perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely, comfortable loft. It is a totally self contained suite at the top of this quiet family home with a grand view of the surrounding neighbourhood gardens. We had a fantastic sleep in this quiet area. Theolyn left us tea, ground coffee, milk, croissant, brioche, butter and jam for breakfast. This is the perfect Airbnb! A tidbit of info...We arrived at the train station and found it easy to take a number 7 bus right across the street from the station. We were in York for 4 days and found it worth it to buy a bus pass for our time there. If you do this, be sure to check the bus schedule as the 7 does not run late into the evening. Thank you again, Theolyn and Dave. We will be comparing all other Airbnbs to this one! The photos do not do it justice.
Theolyn very kindly let us drop our bags off early. Our room was large and the bed was super comfy. Good shower too! Lovely 20-25 min. walk into the very center of York was great. Also, when we stayed late and didn't want to walk back the cab was inexpensive.
The welcome we received was wonderful. We were completing the Way of The Roses Cycle Route during bank holiday weekend through storm Katie. So we arrived, wet, muddy, cold and windswept, later than we'd hoped. Theolyn was so lovely and welcoming. She quickly showed us around the loft roof, appreciating that we needed to clean up and rush out to get dinner. The room itself was fantastic. We had planned a morning in York the following day, however, we felt so comfortable and at home we snuggled up in bed and had breakfast and chatted. The duvet was like sleeping under a cloud- beautiful feathers! A lovely way to spend Sunday morning. This room felt really private and cosy, and was spotlessly cleaned. We really enjoyed our croissants for breakfast and fresh coffee. A wonderful touch. I would highly recommend this room to anyone. and have already said we would love to stay here again when we come back to York. AMAZING!
The stay at her place was totally perfect. I strongly recommend. You can easily make yourself at home because the place for the guests is independent (you will have your own bathroom and kitchen as well ) and Theolyn respects the guests' privacy very well at the same time she frankly speaks to you when you meet her by chance. She was really cheerful and kind :) In addition, she served some food (croissents, pain au chocolat, jams, butters, a bottle of water and sparkling water) and she prepared ground coffee and two french presses as well, so you can make freshly blewed coffee whenever you want. I really would like to visit Theolyn again when I visit York :) Thank you very much!!

Modern studio annex to 1850s cottage with its own access, very close to river (too close when it floods!), big family garden, feels like a country retreat but only 15 minutes' easy river walk or 5 minutes on cycle track from city centre. A lovely newly-built studio attached to the main house with a king-size bed and its own sitting area. The studio feeling is clean and modern, though outside it's more like a country cottage, with our nearest neighbours more than 100m away. There's a simple kitchen area with a sink, fridge, microwave and tea/coffee-making facilities, but no hob/oven. There is an electric shower, sink and toilet. If you're bringing children then we can provide two single mattresses with bedding - the garden has a sunk-in trampoline and a slide (at your own risk!). We also have 4 hens and a puppy (who never comes into the annex). The studio has its own entrance with direct access to a large family garden, which you're free to enjoy. Access by car is via a country lane (bring a torch if arriving at night on foot) and there's free parking on the drive. If you're walking or on bikes, there's direct access from the garden to the riverside cycle track and Millennium Bridge. It's 15 minutes' easy walking by the river into the city or just a few minutes on a bike. We're an easy-going, communicative couple and both often work from home, so at least one of us should be around to show you where you'll be staying and answer any questions you have about what's to see in and around York. You'll have your own front door, so if you want your own time and space, we'll leave you to yourselves to come and go as you please. If you'd like to chat and have recommendations, we'll be happy to help, and if there's anything you'd like to borrow - games? hairdryer? - just ask. We're surrounded by greenery on four sides: a meadow, a wood, a field and allotments, so the overall feeling is very peaceful. Finding a house so close to the centre of York with so much space is very unusual. The beautiful Rowntree's Park is 5 minutes' walk across the Millennium Bridge. We are a couple of miles from Heslington where York university is, there is also a lovely cycle/walking route. Also within 5 minutes there's an Indian restaurant, a very local Sam Smith's pub, a pastry shop, a pharmacy, a Sainsbury's local and - our closest shop - an Aldi. For a wider selection of cafes, shops and restaurants, it's worth walking into town or across the river to the lovely Bishopthorpe Road area. Easy walking distance to York Racecourse which takes around 20 minutes. If you're driving, we're only a few minutes off the A64, though be prepared for a bit of a bumpy lane. If you want to avoid the bumps, park the car off the main road by the Steiner School and walk down. If you're coming by train, you can take a taxi from the station (10 minutes, about £8.00) or the number 7 bus (every 10 minutes during the day, £1.75pp), then a 3-minute walk. Once you're here, the easiest way into town is walking or cycling. It's only 15 minutes' walk into the town centre along the riverside path or a few minutes on a bike. The buses into town are frequent (from Fulford Road) and easier and cheaper than driving and parking. It's also only 10 minutes on the bus to the Designer Outlet if you'd like to go bargain hunting out of town. We'll provide a light breakfast - eg, cereal, fruit, juice and tea/coffee - for you to prepare in your own kitchen area, so you're really self-contained and don't have to fit into our schedules. Our two children, 9 and 7,may also be playing in the garden outside of school hours and during the holidays.læs mere
A lovely stay in a tranquil setting with wood pigeons and squirrels, but still close to the city centre. Selene and Peter are great hosts who go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. Very comfy bed and extras appreciated!
We had a lovely stay and recommend this beautiful little annex. Wonderful hosts. Beautiful location, easy walk along the river into York. Thanks! Kat & Chris
Lovely room, exceptionally comfortable bed, good location, friendly hosts and we really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend.
We had a fantastic stay in York. Peter and Selina's place is perfect. The accommodation could not have been better. Its proximity to town was only a short 15 minute walk via the beautiful river. Regular buses if you felt lazy. York is an amazing city - wished we could have stayed longer. Peter and Selina's two children were delightful - everyone made us feel very welcome. We would return in an instant. Could not recommend Lilac Cottage enough! Cheers. Mark and Sue
We really enjoyed our stay in York. The annex is bright, spacious and beautiful and it is a lovely stroll into York city. Perfectly situated to both exploring York and going bargain hunting at York Designer Outlet.
The studio was lovely: clean, comfortable and quiet. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, but it's also very convenient for town and the racecourse (where I was attending a conference). Selena and Peter made everything very easy, with straightforward instructions, all relevant info available, and flexibility in arrival time. There was also wine and cereal as well as tea and coffee which was a really nice touch and much appreciated!
Had a wonderful stay at Peter's studio. It was clean, comfortable (especially the bed!) and has everything you need in a green and calm part of the city. Both Peter and his wife were very friendly and communication via Airbnb went very smooth. If you're a hiker like me you'll love the 20 minute walk to the city centre! Would definitely stay here again if I had the opportunity.
Beautiful place in an incredible part of the world. Fell in love with York. Perfect location for cycling along the canal or walking into town. Selena and Peter were lovely hosts who seemed genuinely interested in your stay and being helpful. The annex looks out onto the family garden so not the best for privacy or peace if that is what you need but lovely to be surrounded by children's laughter and the blinds suffice for privacy whilst being beneath the wonderful sky lights

We stayed at Julia's house for three nights. Both Julia and Paul are kind friendly people. They made us feel right at home. The house is exactly as described and the airbnb room is comfortable for two people. The parkour down stairs is an added bonus, a nice place to relax and read. The neighbor is great. Several good restaurants and very close to all of York's attractions.
Was only there for a short stay but Paul and Julia very welcoming, good communication and friendly. Lovely house in a great location of York, within walking distance of city centre. Would highly recommend.
This is a beautiful room in a great location. It was only a ten to fifteen minute walk to the city centre, cheap and easy parking (£1 a night on the main road). Can't recommend Julia enough.
Had a lovely stay in York, comfortable bed, lovely house and great location. Loved the private bathroom and it was only 10 minutes down the road into the centre. Julia and Paul are lovely people and Paul helped us park the car in the right place so we did not get a ticket.
Julia and her family were wonderful hosts, I had a great time in York! The house is cozy and about a ten minute walk from the city center, and only a few minutes from a grocery store. The room was lovely, with a big comfy bed, a desk, and several chairs. I had my own toilet and bathroom, and everything was clean and welcoming. Julia met me at the door and welcomed me warmly into her home, it was a lovely experience all around.
My friend Vic and I spent a night in York, in the comfort of Julia's lovely home. Julia and her family are charming. Their home is a beautifully decorated townhouse. I had major house envy! Airbnb guests get a cosy bedroom on the top floor with exclusive use of a spacious shower room and WC. The bed and shower were both top notch. I would heartily recommend Julia's place to anyone visiting York.
We had a very nice visit with Julia, Paul and family. The room is well laid out and the bathroom is excellent. The minster is only a 20 minute walk away and everyone else in town is even closer. So much to do in York and this is a good location to explore the town. A nice big Victorian home that has a lively family to enjoy it.
My friend and I met Julia upon arrival and she was very sweet. Julia's home is in a great location. It is in a nice neighborhood with cute shops, and very close to the center of town. We were able to walk everywhere. We only stayed one night in York, but we would definitely stay at Julia's again.

Ian is a nice guy. It was easy to get along with him. When I arrived, I received a warm welcome, which made me feel at home. The room was tidy and clean and so was the bathroom. It was a wonderful night in his apartment. Thank you, Ian. Hope to see you again.
Ian was an amazingly kind and caring host : he came to look for us as we were lost, gave us all the practical details to visit York, had a pristine clean room ready for us and had all the things prepared so we could have an amazing breakfast. I warmly recommend his place. Caroline
I spent a night at Ian's place when I came to York to attend my graduation ceremony. The room was very cosy and bright indeed, and I really enjoyed my time there. Ian allowed me to stay in the room until the evening of my check-out date, that was very kind of him as I had to wait for my train somewhere. He has also provided me with all the towels, WiFi password, and front door keys. I will definitely stay at Ian's place if I come to York in the future.
Lovely clean room. We only spent one night at Ian's. He was very kind and helpful. Ian even supplied paracetamol the morning after a fairly heavy night out in York.
Ian is a wonderful host. He made me feel welcomed and relaxed. The room is exactly as described, very clean, with comfortable double bed and spacious area decorated beautifully. Because my schedule was intensive so only had a good talk with Ian. I really enjoyed talking with him and felt pity that why time is so short. I will definitely recommend it to everyone who goes to York.
Ian is a lovely host and looked after me very well. My room was super, clean, spacious and well equipped. It was great to talk to Ian over a cuppa and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation and this host. In terms of location, it's an easy 10 minutes walk to one of the old city gates and city centre. There are a few handy shops and takeaways nearby and looks like it's on a bus route.
Excellent stay in Ian's lovely flat. Ian is a perfect host, available and kind. His place was easy to find and is absolutely neat. The room is comfortable and I slept very well in the comfortable bad. Next time I visit York, I know where to stay!
Ian is a fantastic host. He helped me make my way to his flat, which on the map might seem difficult to locate but is in fact very easy to locate and within easy walking distance of downtown York. He has provided everything you need for your stay in a very clean, modern, inviting space. The room itself is of good size with plenty of storage and I found the bed very comfortable. Ian has traveled extensively himself and has many interesting stories to share. He is also eager to listen to yours. I think he could leave his present job and make a success interviewing guests on a live talk show. Ian's flat is close to a launderette, a convenience shop, and a couple of take-away restaurants. I would definitely book with him again and wonder why he doesn't charge more for what to me seemed an excellent value!

This property is a beautifully renovated former salt house, situated in an idyllic rural landscape. The house has a wood burning stove for cosy nights and a self enclosed garden should you wish to bring a well-behaved pet. Come and explore Yorkshire! The Salt House has had various uses - it was originally used for salting and storing bacon. In more recent years it has been a coal shed and then a children's play house before conversion to living space Guests have a private gated access to a well equipped cottage and a small enclosed dog proof garden with a table and chairs. The garden is surrounded by woodland. We live in the adjacent farmhouse but we shall always try to be around when you arrive. We have included as many details as possible on the welcome sheet but if you need more information or advice please feel free to ask. We are ideally located for driving to York, Ripon and Harrogate. Whitby and the North Yorkshire coastline is about an hour and a half drive away with several stately homes closer to hand. There are local walks to explore and some excellent village pubs within a four mile radius. There is private parking for one car within the cottage garden. There is no public transport in the immediate area. The nearest train station is at Thirsk, 8 miles away. The cottage has electric water heating, electric radiators and a wood burning stove for use in colder weather. A daily basket of logs is included. Wi-fi is available but is quite slow. There is a TV and DVD player., There is a dishwasher and washing machine.læs mere
Fantastic cottage, we couldn't have asked for a nicer place for a couple of days away! The cottage was very well equipped and cosy too. We took our dog - the garden was ideal and the porch too for him. Judith and Simon were fantastic hosts too, very kind and accommodating. I would certainly recommend the salt house, and if we are ever back in the area would certainly stay again!
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing trip away and Judith and Simon were lovely hosts. We arrived and were shown around the property, explained to about local amenities and we're given fresh eggs, homemade bread, milk and marmalade too. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.
Our hosts were there to meet us as we pulled into the driveway. They are a charming couple and made us very welcome. The Salt House is a delightful cottage - clean, tastefully decorated and with all you could possibly need for a short or long stay. Having a private garden, being in a quiet setting, yet having lots of things to do at your fingertips makes it a perfect spot to stay in North Yorkshire. We will definitely recommend this to family and friends on our return to Australia.
We had a lovely stay in Judith and Simon's cottage. It was peaceful and cosy, especially with the log fire, everything was clean and the kitchen was very well-equipped. The homemade bread, eggs, fresh milk, butter and marmalade were wonderful and it was the perfect place to stay for a quiet, relaxing break!
Jennie & Angus
The Salt House is a very comfortable cottage, full of charm. It is well equipped and had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay. It is located in a peaceful rural setting. York and pretty market towns are only a short drive away. Judith and Simon are delightful hosts, very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was lovely and warm for our arrival and very cosy with the wood-burner. The freshly baked bread and fresh eggs were an added bonus. We are already looking forward to a return visit.
Simon and Judith were really friendly and accommodating. Lovely to arrive to a lit stove, loaf of fresh bread and eggs for breakfast. A really comfortable, peaceful little place in a beautiful part of England. We will definitely be back.
Thank you for a great stay! Beautiful cottage, everything was immaculate. Perfect setting. Warm welcome with fresh eggs, mik and homemade bread! Definitely would recommend :)
Simon and Judith made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The salt house was the perfect choice and we are so happy that we chose to stay there. The location was exactly as described with beautiful views and easy access to all the places we wanted to visit while in York. I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely rural cottage.

Great location, lovely hosts, amazing cat! Thanks guys we'll be back!!
Though I arrived in a cold day, the house and Danny Brough me a warm place for short stay. The room is large enough and quite clean, Wi-fi signal is strong. Lovely cat and lovely family, thanks a lot!
Nice hosts and good location.
Didn't meet Nadia, but Danny was an easy going guy. If you want to know where to get a nice beer in town, he is very knowledgable about great pubs and good coffee stops. Room was great and the house is well designed with a hallway to one side and the living areas divided off that. So you get a great amount of privacy.
Nadia and Danny are incredibly hospitable. I felt welcome and quickly part of their home. I cannot thank enough for their kind, relaxed manner to deal with guests, as I was preparing myself for a marathon and I was anxious and nervous and they made me feel at ease. I truly recommend Nadia and Danny and I would go back 100%, York is very pretty btw.
We had a very pleasant stay with Danny & Nadia and the room was spotless, convenient and just what we needed - and Scrappy the cat deserves 5 stars just on his own!
The room is lovely, clean & very comfortable - we had a brilliant weekend in York with this as our base. Danny greeted us & was very welcoming & informative about York; what to see, where to eat etc (there's an excellent cafe round the corner from the house where we had the best breakfast of our trip). And Scrappy the cat made us feel really at home - if you don't like cats then you can make sure he doesn't get into your room, but we love them so welcomed his visits so he often came to arrange himself majestically in our room & give us smiley eyes. It was a lovely place to stay & we felt quite at home.

Choosing Carol as our host absolutely made our visit to York. Carol is an incredible host. She is so well traveled and so well read, our conversations on such a wide range of subjects were fascinating and she also happens to be a great vegetarian cook. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Her place is exactly as described in the profile. York is a beautiful place and we met many wonderful people strolling about the streets. I highly recommend a stay with Carol for your trip to York.
Carol is a very interesting person! She is well travelled, has a curious mind, is a history buff, looks well beyond the superficial, and is very sweet-natured and generous. She is a pleasure to be around. I highly recommend living with her.

I enjoyed my two nights in York. Carol is an excellent host, she cooked a lovely evening meal served with excellent conversation, a very pleasant evening. The house is well positioned to visit York. A very comfortable double bed gave me two nights of complete sleep and rest.
Carol is a delightful, generous and very informative host. The room was comfortable and clean. The house has a very homey feel and is handy to the centre of York. We enjoyed our stay with Carol.
Carol was just overall a very caring and incredible hostess. Made my time experience York very enjoyable thanks to her. Will definitely visit and stay there again in a heart-beat.
Carol received us with a warm welcome. She treated us with excellent homebake breakfast and better conversations. Suggested few places to go to the city centre and for dinner. We were up to five guest for one bathroom though. Overall, great experience and definitively we would come back to her place in York.

Try one of our comfy camping pods in N Yorkshire. The Small Pod is ideal for 2 people, but you can fit in a child & dog too. Bring everything you would camping - apart from the tent! There are no beds, but we hire out airbeds for £3 each. Hillcrest Park is our 6 acre, holiday location in the northernmost of the Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale. Surrounded by farmland, it offers peace, tranquillity and beautiful views of Teesdale – yet is only 10mins from the A66. It is ideal for walkers, cyclists and dog owners (we have a dog walking field onsite) and is close to Richmond, Barnard Castle, High Force Waterfall, Raby Castle and a host of other Dales attractions. Camping Pods are solidly built, insulated wooden huts with good headroom and a carpeted interior floor area, with lights, a heater and an electric socket to power mobile phones, laptops and travel devices for that little bit of extra comfort. There is timber decking providing somewhere to sun-bathe, prepare food or hang your wet gear. The window and lockable French doors are double glazed and the Cumbrian sheep's wool insulation and fitted heater means that the Pod really is a year-round option. There is a cycle storage area on site and we also hire out camping stoves and mattresses if you require and can provide a breakfast pack with advance notice. You will have full use of our centrally heated amenity block with free showers, loos, hairdryer, hot water for dishwashing, fridge, kettle, microwave and hob plus a coin operated laundry. There are picnic tables/benches provided for each pod as well as hardstanding for barbeques. If you don't want to cook outside for yourself, there is a good pub a mile and a half up the road in Caldwell (the Brownlow Arms) which serves food in the evenings. But if you fancy a good walking destination, you can wander down to Winston Gate (15mins walk away) and take the Teesdale Way along the river Tees towards Whorlton and have lunch at The Bridge, which is open from 10am until 11pm and is also dog friendly. Alternatively, you can head into Staindrop and have brunch on the green at the Laurels cafe. All in all, the Pod really is 21st Century Camping. So why not revisit those fun childhood holidays, but this time with grown-up comforts. Guests have access to our centrally heated amenity block with free showers, loos and campers' kitchen, and also our 3 acre field, ideal for exercising both children and dogs! We also have a small shop on site selling the basics. We're here to help all our guests if they need it. But also happy to let them enjoy their break in peace! Remember staying in a camping pod is very much a camping experience - just in more comfort - so bring all your camping kit!læs mere
The camping pod was fantastic. The pods were laid out well to achieve a nice amount of privacy. The little heater a lovely bonus. I was especially impressed with the hot showers and kitchen area, shared but clean and never busy. Kate was a perfect host, filled us in on the local area and available if help was needed. The field for dog walking was a huge bonus. Made first and last walks easy. Would highly recommend
Just back from a weekend break staying in the camping pods, the pod was quiet and cosy, had a heater and plugs to charge phones etc, the fecking area was lovely to sit on and relax and the over hang was great as I could sit out of the wind. Ed and Kate were lovely and friendly, Ed checked us in and was extremely helpful giving us directions to local pubs and walks. The kitchen and shower/toilet facilities were great, very clean and tidy. All in all its a great place to go and relax, they even catered for our dog by having a lovely field with tracks cut in for us to walk him or play with his ball. We will definitely be going again.
Absolutely beautiful place, I will definitely be visiting again. Lovely peaceful area. Very clean and tidy and a friendly atmosphere.
Friendly hosts and perfect area for an explore. Facilities were clean and the pod was nice and cosy with carpet/light and heater for extra comfort! Will definitely be back.
The welcome was very friendly and we were shown around the site, as well as given some ideas of where to eat in the local area.
Lovely peaceful location, with open fields, perfect for a relaxing break away. The toilet and shower block were immaculately clean and easily accessible, the field to run the dog was great. Kate and Ed were very pleasant with great communications and local knowledge. Loved the whole holiday, would certainly return.
This was our first experience of podding and we were not very well prepared. Our host was very pleased to see us and made us feel immediately at home. Sensing that we were novices she inflated our air beds and showed us around the site pointing out the facilities before asking us whether we had made arrangment to eat in the evening. She made a number of suggestions but in fact we had booked a table at a restaurant locally. We had an excellent night's sleep. When we left in the morning she asked whether we had enjoyed ourselves, made several suggestions of places to go in the vicinity and told us something of the history of her business. We certainly plan to go back when we have more time, hopefully later this year. In conclusion, it is a beautiful location and immaculate site with clean, well maintained services. The pod itself was warm and comfortable.
Quiet and clean! The camping experience with the comfort of cozy wooden pod! Would recommend to anyone who loves the great outdoors!

Exactly as shown on the photos. Quite warm and clean. We enjoyed the stay:)
We loved staying at Jelles house, even though it was just for one night. The bedroom as well as the rest of the house is lovely, great location for a reasonable price, and Jelle provided us with all the information we needed before and during our stay in York. We could even leave our luggage at his place after checkout to collect it later that evening. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Raquel and Miguel are great, they are very helpful and friendly. I recommen to stay on this place ☺️
An incredibly hospitable couple. From the moment I arrived they were extremely friendly and throughout my stay they made every effort to keep me comfortable and happy. I would definitely recommend this airbnb.
We really enjoyed our stay at Raquel's. The hosts were very friendly, kind and helpful. They offered us breakfast and gave us lift to town several times. Also, their dog was a real cutie - such a loving dog and very well behaving! Would recommend to anyone.
Very pleasant an experience, the landlord couple is very good, I will stay with them!
Rachel and her husband are really friendly and kind. Sometimes we had a talk with them, although we got language problem, it was enjoyable and funny enough. if you visit there, soon after your arriving, you’ll feel really welcome. Of course, the house was clean and breakfast was also good. And they usually tried to help us more than our request. (By the way, Rachel, how about your trip? If you two already went on travel, we wish you two could have a good trip to Italy. Thank you!)
The apartment is lovely and fully equipped with everything you will need. Plus the code system makes checking in really easy

The Number 2 bus runs from near the house (Water End) to the centre of York (Museum Street). There are three different ways to walk into town: along the river; or walk down Bootham and through the historic Bootham Gate arch; or behind St Peter's School and through the Museum Gardens. Each one takes 15-20 minutes. Taxis from the train station/town centre to the house cost approx. £7 in normal traffic conditions. There are cafes and restaurants nearby, and local takeaway restaurants deliver to the house. If you order a takeaway please eat it in the private living room rather than the bedroom. Margaret y Catalina son personas muy educadas y amables. Nos facilitaron información sobre el lugar. Es una casa muy tranquila, muy bonita y agradable. It is a lovely house with a beautiful garden. Plus the cat is really pretty and "entrañable". Todo fue perfecto.
Catalina and Margaret are super welcoming, warm and helpful hosts. Their home is just perfect for a chilled out stay. Thank you ever so much!
The accomodation was in a beautiful quiet are very convent area very close to the local buses into York a few minutes up the road. Catalina and Margaret were excellent hosts making us drinks on arrival and helping take our bags to the room. The sitting room is so calm and relaxing and very peaceful.
Catalina and Margaret are amazing guest!! We did appreciate the location, the beautiful yard and the room was so quiet! I would recomend this beautiful cosy house and if I need to come back in York for sure will come to this place! If you are lucky Catalina will prepare a fresh squizzed juice in the morning that you will not forget!!!
What an amazing host! I had the best time in York. Catalina was not in town but Margaret was extremely friendly and helpful. The house is beautifully bucolic yet within walking distance to the city centre. The room was exquisite and cozy. I particularly enjoyed the tea. And the lovely cat. Thank yo so much Margaret!
Catalina is really nice and helpful! And the area around is beautiful! We had a good time in York!
Loved the garden, the sitting room for our own use, the relaxed atmosphere, the clean bathroom, the bread, the smoothies, the walk along the river to town, finding out about social enterprises. Will return! Thank you!

Our house is the perfect place to stay while visiting York. The house is located in "Britain’s best high street" Bishy Road full of lovely shops and cafés. It is easy to walk to every main areas in York. The house consists of two bedrooms, one living room, one open kitchen and dining room and one bathroom. The shared bathroom (located downstairs) has a shower and a bath and we have a lovely back garden with table and seats to take meals outside or simply relax. The guests bedroom has a double bed (and a single bed that can be used for a £15 supplement), a desk and a wardrobe. The location of the house is ideal. Have a look at Bishy road's website on which you will find what's on. Everything is at a walking distance. The train station is a 10 min walk max from the house. You wil find a Europcar at the train station if you want to rent a car. We are 4 min away from the river, 5 min from clifford's tower. You will also find a gate to start the infamous "walk around the Wall" accross the street. York is one fat history book of a city. Chapter One is simply wandering around and wallowing in the names - The Shambles, Bitchdaughter Tower and Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate. Then visit the tremendous Minster (entry £5.50 a head), fully restored inside after the disastrous fire of 1984. York has a rich Viking past.læs mere
I had a lovely weekend in York with my boyfriend, and Lou's place was everything we needed. If you're travelling on a budget, the price is excellent and within a couple of minutes you're at the city walls (which, if you're unfamiliar to York, surround the small central tourist area). Aside from the private room, you'll share the house with the host, but they're a friendly couple and made us feel at home right away, allowing us to use their espresso machine and anything else we needed. If you're after a break in one of England's most beautiful cities and need somewhere to crash, I'd look no further.
Good location. Easily access to sightseeing spots. Lou is nice. She allows us to check in and check out late.
Very comfortable like at home. Quiet and only 15min walk to station. Lou is very kind host. If we'll travel York again, l'll choose Lou's place to stay.
a very nice place to stay, it 5-10 minute away from train station and the city, host are nice and helpful.
A great place to stay just outside the old city walls.
Greeted us on arrival; was friendly and available to answer questions throughout our stay. Location is convenient to many attractions in York.
She is very nice and hospitable and the room is tidy and clean. It is worth to stay.
Lou was a great host and made us feel welcome in her home. The room she provided was very clean and the beds were excellent. Thank you for opening you home to us, I would highly recommend Lou's home to anyone!

Just had a great weekend at the house. Cath and Phil were very helpful from booking and arrangements to helping us throughout our stay. Always quick to respond to any questions large or small. The house was lovely, we enjoyed most of our nights in the pool and the large conservatory which was a good party room with space for everyone! The lounges and kitchen were also nice too. Would definitely recommend the house for a great girly weekend!
Just returned (and recovered!) from a fabulous hen weekend staying at the Hen Party House! When beginning to plan this hen weekend...I really did not know where to start!! Booking with Cath and Phil was beyond brilliant. They provided myself with lists of restaurants, experiences, taxis and lots of other information which would have been hard to find myself!! The house itself is just perfect. Lots of areas to party, dine, chat and chill!! Pool and jacuzzi were brilliant too!! Everyone was so amazed by the house and how at home we felt. A huge thank you to you all!!!
We had a great time in Cath and Phil's lovely house, they were always available if we needed them. Cath and Phil provided lots of useful information before we arrived which helped with planning activities. They offered to help us out in any way they could! It is situated just far enough out of leeds that you can do nothing in the day but close enough that you can go out at night. I would definitely recommend this house to friends.
There were 14 of us celebrating 2 40th birthdays. We had a great time and decided to stay in all weekend so we could all have a good catch up. There was more than enough space for all of uTheres and Catherine and Phil were very accommodating and helpful. There is a big list of things to do in the area including details of the local Indian and Chinese takeaways which are both amazing btw. The pool and jacuzzi is amazing. A great size and very warm and relaxing has a real holiday feel. The kitchen has everything you could need and is a great social (URL HIDDEN) is the newly extended (URL HIDDEN) lovely warm and cosy house... thanks very much for all your help and letting us stay in your wonderful home x
Phil and Kath have been the most relaxed and helpful hosts we could've asked for. They made us feel very welcome and at home. The house is amazing, the perfect location for a hen do of 14. We hardly moved from the pool and outdoor area. I would very highly recommend this place
An amazing place to stay and the perfect way for us to celebrate a 30th birthday with all of our friends. Couldn't possibly find fault with the home or Phil and Cath as hosts, so accommodating and gave us brilliant recommendations for local walks and places to eat and drink. Would love to come and stay again in the future and would strongly recommend anyone considering a stay here to do so. The house really has to be seem to be believed!
Brilliant experience. Phil and Cath guided us through our first airb&b. Good contact and very flexible with their approach to things.
From my initial email to leaving the house on Sunday, both Cath and Phil were brilliant. Organizing a Hen Party is never easy, however they were extremely helpful with activities, places to go, things to do in the local area and were always on hand throughout, from booking to the weekend. Made my life as organiser easy. The house it's self was absolutely beautiful, and the pictures really don't do it justice. The entire group was blown away by the space and the amazing pool area. I organised a cocktail master class to come to the house and the new conservatory space worked out the perfect place for all us. I would highly recommend the house if you are thinking of a girly weekend away or hen party.

I booked this flat for my general manager. He told me that it was really clean and cozy!
Cosettas place was great, super clean & tidy with everything we needed for a great stay. Amazingly located for York city & the train station yet really quiet & peacful for a great nights sleep. would definitely stay again.
This apartment is amazing. Very modern and secure. It has everything you need right on the doorstep. The city centre is about a 10 minute walk away, however, there are lots of shops on the way so it feels like a lot less. The host was very attentive and easy to deal with. Would highly recommend!!
Cosetta's place was exactly as pictured. The unit was sparkling clean. It looked and felt as if we were the first guests in fact, everything was so new and clean. Unit was well appointed with nice extra amenities upon arrival. We had trouble finding the place initially, but that was our fault because we arrived so late and had trouble reading signs. Cosetta was always reachable by phone, text and email and she and her husband were very good at communicating with us. The Walk is in a superb walkable and safe, secure location. We walked in and out of the city centre multiple times throughout the day with ease. Sainsbury's just around the corner too, for your convenience. Great launching point to explore York!
Excellent stay, communication with Cosetta was brilliant, and we really appreciated being able to use the car parking space early. The bathrooms and showers were perfect and we used the kitchen to make some lunch one day; all cooking implements and crockery were there. Cosetta even left us some milk and biscuits with the tea! We visited York for my father's birthday and he was really impressed with the apartment and the location. Next year we will have to come again :-)
New full-furnished apt, clean, quiet and good location. Have parking slot! Just the bed is too soft to sleep:)
It was a great stay. Cosetta gave me all the information I needed to get into the apartment at 10pm in the evening and it was very smooth. The flat is super convenient and clean and we took good use of the washing machine and kitchen. I would definitely stay at the same place again next time coming to York.

Cosetta and Matteo were lovely hosts. The space was great...loved having a separate living/tv room. The bathroom was also spacious. The rooms were very clean. The townhouse was within easy walking to all museums/attractions, restaurants and the train station. There was also a bus stop just down the street. If in York again, we would definitely stay here again.
Cossetta and Matteo made us feel very welcome and everything was perfect even though we booked at the last minute. The top floor has plenty of space, comfy bed, good shower. We didn't explore the local area as we were passing through but it looked an attractive suburb, not far from the centre and was easy to find. Thanks too for the parking space.
A delighful first Airbnb experience. Cosetta was very welcoming and the rooms were attractive and clean. Information about the area was given and although we had no need to ask questions, the feeling that we could was genuine. Cosetta is a delightful hostess. I highly recommend this home.
Lovey rooms, we really enjoyed having the sitting room to relax in the evening. Fantastic location.
Really nice space for living while we visit York. Perfect location! Clean and comfortable room with private living room and toilet! I would highly recommend it!
Excelentes anfitriones! Nos dejaron entrar una hora antes a la habitación y nunca tuvieron problema en recibirnos. Van a sentirse muy bien, muy cerca de la Catedral y cerca de supermercados y restoranes y pubs. Un 10 para ellos.
I would totally recommend staying at Cosetta's place. It is located only a short walk from Monkgate Bar and the rooms are spotlessly clean! Best of all you have private floor including beautiful bedroom, living room and bathroom. Perfect address for a stay in York

Got a very nice room on the top floor of the house, which is in a quiet neighbourhood. Carol was super nice. She made me breakfast and we had hour-long conversations in the morning. I really enjoyed my stay!
Carol was a incredible host! She was warm and easy to talk to and always provided us with breakfast every morning. She also kindly offered to help us with our laundry which we didn't expect but were really thankful for. She made our stay in York very comfortable, and we really appreciated all the insight she provided about the area. The room is really spacious and homey, and the bed was very comfortable. Her house was very conveniently located - just a 7-10 minute bus ride into the city center. We definitely had an enjoyable time here, I'm sure anyone else would as well. I highly recommend anyone who's looking to explore York to stay with and get to know Carol (:
Carol was very nice and welcoming. We had the misfortune of having colds when we came to stay but Carol took good care of us. We will be keeping in touch in the future. Her place isn't far from the city centre. I would recommend getting the number 1 bus if it is raining as it stops very close to her place and takes you right into the city. If we come back to York in the future we will be staying with her again. Thanks Carol!
Generous and entertaining host. A real pleasure to stay with. Comfortable accommodation in a quiet street. Thoroughly recommended.
Carol's room was amazing. She was so welcoming and I felt relaxed with her and her home immediately. The room is very spacious with windows to let the sunlight in. The bed is very comfy and Carol gives you a stack of towels to use. This room also has it's own bathroom which is wonderful. Her home is a 2 minute walk to the bus stop that takes you right down town. Carol is also a fantastic cook - her soda bread and curry dish were mouth watering. This place is highly recommended, you will not regret it. The location, convenience, price, host, cleanliness - everything was perfect! Thank you Carol for sharing your home with me and making my visit to York unforgettable. ( She can also discuss and explain English history with incredible accuracy).
I really enjoyed my stay at Carol's place, it was a really good time. She showed us main attractions of the city, gave some useful tips. Room is just like in the photos, neighborhood is very nice and peaceful. Really enjoyed breakfast in the morning ;)
Carol was always offering cups of tea. The moment I walked in the door I had a tea and a slice of cake which was just perfect. She made beautiful breakfasts and was excellent company. It was in a nice quiet area with close proximity to the city. I really loved it there.
Carol was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome in her home from the minute we arrived. We enjoyed many conversations with Carol over cups of tea and her delicious home cooked breakfasts (we were particular fans of her hot porridge and her home made soda bread!). The room was nice and clean, as was the bathroom. Carol is a good cook and we would suggest eating in at Carol's home one night if you plan to stay with her. We really enjoyed staying with Carol and appreciated her knowledge of York Would recommend!
