Endroit pittoresques, mais un peu difficile d'accès. À 30 minutes d'Intra, par une route de montagne étroite, en lacet. La rencontre de véhicules est difficile, surtout si l'on a une grosse voiture. Une fois arrivé, on doit stationner à l'entrée du village et se rendre à pied avec les valises jusqu'à la maison. 50 marches en pierre inégales. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut dans la maison, la vue est splendide et la visite du petit village, en partie abandonné, vaut la peine. Nous en gardons un très bon souvenir.

The location is perfect because it is quiet and secluded. The house was also ideal for our purpose: two parents with two small schools kids. The view from the balcony is stunning and Mattia is very easy to communicate with. Great driving distance to both: nature to climb the mountains and lake towns to enjoy the views. We will be back!

Mattias little house in the mountains was really nice prepared, very clean, very well organized. Mattia and his wife are very helpful, friendly and really try to make the best out of your trip! The region is beautiful! We had beautiful hikes in the mountains and if it gets to hot you can drive down to the lake (about 25 min.) and enjoy to swim in the lake!

Very nice little house. Excellently located for superb walks straight from the door. Loads of wild life (great for birders). Our host was very helpful & welcoming.

Mattia was a friendly, but slightly distracted host.. His house is situated in a very quiet and pretty mountain village which is the perfect starting point for beautiful hikes. Unfortunately the house felt a little bit neglected in some parts, like its cleaness for example.

It is a nice, quiet, child-friendly and well-equipped house in the tiny village of Intragna. There are no stores or restaurants in the village, but the coastal city of Verbania is only about 15 minutes by car (you will definitly need a car). There are a lot of things to see e.g. for day trips within one hour of driving. The road is steep, narrow and winding and might be a challenge for inexperienced drivers. Mattia is an excellent, firendly host and answers any questions. The view from the balcony to the distant Lago Maggiore is marvellous. Overall excellent value! Highly recommended.

L'accès au site est un peu difficile, mais une fois arrivé, c'est un petit paradis. Le logement est spacieux, très bien équipé et même plus. Les lits sont confortables.l'endroit est très calme. La vue superbe . Un vrai moment de bonheur.

Great place to stay an to enjoy typical Italian life on the country site, beautifull view on the lake at some distance. Th village nearby is very small but very authentical. Small but safe road to the village.

We had such a good time in your cosy hut, that is comfortable like a house with everything you need in it. Every day we enjoyed the real breathtaking view over the woods till the Lago Maggiore. Sitting outside in the evening and listening to the marvelous "sounds of nature "... Giovanni is a nice guy and a very friendly host, who waited for our late arrival and welcomed us with red and white wine. Thank you so much!

The house is in a really quiet and peacfull area with a beautiful view. Equipment is modern and the house is in a good condition with lots of space. We had a good time at this lovely place and recommend it.

Giovanni's house is full of charm and has an incredible view. We really enjoyed the absolute silence at night, the terrace, the air and coolness of the trees shadow while it was hot everywhere else. Note that this place is OK for children older than 3 as there are a lot of edgy stone steps which (although very beautiful) can be dangerous for toddlers and would require constant surveillance. Giovanni was really kind and available when we needed him.

Das Ferienhaus von Pia liegt in einem romantischen Bergdörfchen in der Nähe des Lago Maggiore. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr gepflegt und toll gelegen mit Blick ins Tal und auf die Nachbardörfer. Wir konnten kaum glauben, dass wir es so schön erwischt hatten. Es ist super ruhig gelegen. Wir hatten perfekte und erholsame Urlaubstage mit unseren 2 Kindern. Vielen Dank an Pia!!!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Pia. L'appartement en RDC idéalement exposé était très propre. Nous avons été accueillis avec un bon feu de cheminée, des légumes du jardin et de la confiture maison dans le frigo ! Idéal si vous recherchez le calme des montagnes et pour faire de la randonnée. Die Vermieterin ist eine sehr liebenswerte Frau, die sich sehr um ihre Gäste kümmert. Der Kühlschrank war gefüllt mit leckeren selbst gemachtem Essen. Vor dem Haus gibt es eine Quelle mit Trinkwasser. Der Balkon war sehr gemütlich und bietet einen Blick in das Tal.

Pia est une personne très gentille et accueillante. Mon copain et moi avons passé un très bon séjour. Le logement est situé dans un superbe village en montagne: c'est le calme et la tranquillité assurés. Nous recommandons ce logement aux amoureux de la montagne, des randonnées, de la nature... Prévoyez quelques provisions car il faut descendre en voiture au village pour toute commodité. Merci Pia !

We really enjoyed our holidays. We got some garden tomatoes, cucumbers, homemade pesto and a bottle of wine for free. It was lovely and the view is so beautiful.Thank you so much Pia!

I had a great experience at Claudia and Matteo 's house. Claudia was very helpful and welcoming, which was highly appreciated after a very long hike in the mountains. The village is small and cute, the house was as expected. Val Grande and Lago Maggiore are gorgeous. I recommand staying at Claudia and Matteo 's to anyone wishing to visit the area!

Dormire da Matteo a Scarano è stata una bellissima esperienza. La casa, abbarbicata sulla montagna, offre una magnifica vista ed è un ottima base sia per piacevoli camminate nel Parco della Val Grande sia per ritirarsi in tranquillità a poca distanza dalle attrattive del lago. È stato bello poi conoscere e condividere la cena con la piacevole comunità di Scarano. Spero presto di tornare!

We loved staying at Matteos

Matteo e Claudia sono stati super gentili e disponibili. Conoscno i posti e dispensano ottimi consigli per le passeggiate. L'alloggio è situato in un paesino facilmente raggiungibile dalle località lacustri ma mantiene la propria identità e rimane isolato e pacifico. Una bella esperienza.

I stayed at Matteo and Claudia's place and it was beautiful experience. View from balcony with morning coffee is breathtaking. Room was lovely too. Village is very natural and traditional. Matteo and Claudia are great experts of local area. I did hiking on Pian Cavallone on recommendation and was best views in lifetime. Good exercise. I would recommend to come with car so you can easily move around villages nearby.

Really beautiful views, Claudia is lovely, as are the two friendly cats, which come and lie on your bed - so sweet! However sadly there were a few things which I feel could be improved upon. BEDROOM - the bed is not dissimilar to the scenery - mountainous, rickety and with lots of ridges! My back did ache in the mornings so ended up padding the mattress out with the extra bedding supplied. I used my own travel pillow as my pillow was a hard sofa pillow. MICE/RATS - unfortunately there was scurrying in the rafters, which was mildly disconcerting at night. I though it was the cats at first, but then saw them downstairs which confirmed it was in fact rodents. I managed to sleep through the scurrying and thought is was quite amusing, but my partner didn't! BATHROOM - it was great to have an en suite, however do be aware of low water pressure. There is a shower head, attached to the bath, but do expect a poor stream. I opted for a bath night number 2, but unfortunately the hot water ran out before a bath was run. Loo and sink worked well. Clean hand towels and shower gel supplied which was nice - but do remember to bring your own bath towels. BREAKFAST - there was DIY tea and coffee on offer which was nice, but breakfast was not mentioned or offered during our 3-day stay. I note this was not in keeping with previous reviews. It would be best to clarify this as we arrived with limited breakfast supplies. I really would advise everyone to do a decent food shop before arriving, because there are no shops/restaurants within walking distance. CAR PARKING wise - plenty is available, no payment required, but do be aware of the walk up to the house which is about 7-10 min depending on where you park (steep hill, unpaved in parts, wear good shoes, and best to bring a backpack not a suitcase). MISC - internet mainly worked well. You have access to use the kitchen which is good. Wonderful walks to be done in the national park, the best ones require a car to get to, but pretty wooded walks nearby too. There are a few mosquitoes around and about. Church bell chimes ever 30 minutes! Keys given to come and go freely. Other than that I would describe the village/area as a chilled, secluded, and scenic spot. Potential to get cold at night.

Le village est magnifique, bien qu'un peu difficile à trouver (sur le GPS il faut indiquer "Scareno di Aurano). l'accès à la maison se fait à pied par un chemin un peu tortueux, pensez-y si vous avez des bagages ou si vous avez des difficultés de locomotion. Mais Claudia a été une hôtesse fantastique, elle nous a même fait à manger le soir car nous n'avions rien prévu ! Nous avons passé une excellente soirée avec elle, une artiste talentueuse et charmante, et avec le chaton Matisse. Nous recommandons vivement cet hébergement !

We had a great stay in Matteos & Claudias place, which was very quaint. Claudia was a great host, she gave us great suggestions for the region and prepared a little breakfast every morning. Highly recommendable!

Le petit déjeuner était une merveille, avec plein de produits locaux, le tout cuisiné par Jarno lui même, un cuisinier hors pair ! La vue est tout simplement extraordinaire ! Les lits sont confortables, et Jarno prends en compte tous les commentaires, et a sans cesse pour but de s'améliorer ! Jarno nous a même conseillé des itinéraires de randonnées adaptés à notre niveau, et cela valait vraiment le coup ! Jarno made all his possible to make us comfortable, and we felt like home ! Breakfast was marvellous, with lots of local products, everything being cooked by Jarno himself, an amazing cook ! The view is simply amazing ! Beds are comfortable, and Jarno takes into account all suggestions, and wants to improve his place constantly ! Jarno even suggested us some hiking ways adapted to our skill, and it was really worth it ! I STRONGLY recommand him to you :-)

The stay at Jarno’s place was simply great. We really enjoyed the place, with its exuberant garden and the amazing view of the valley. Sitting at the terrace, we loved the evening conversation, in Jarno’s very good English and in an English-Italian-Spanish mix with Jarno’s girlfriend. They were both great hosts, that took a lot of care of us. They helped with the parking, they gave us directions to nice places and proposed activities, and they made sure I had dairy-free products for breakfast, including handpicked berries :) They have lots of fruit trees, a vegetable garden and even chickens and rabbits, and they do a lot of things by themselves. It always makes me happy to see people that decides to come back to the village and start a business, against the unsustainable global trend of migration towards the cities. It was a pleasure to hear their stories and share ours. It was also great to share cooking tips and recipes. Jarno was preparing the pizza dough in the traditional way, which takes days… so maybe next time we book a dinner and enjoy some homemade dish! The road to the village is very narrow and you must horn for your safety, even if it is not the best for a natural paradise… there are a lot of places where two cars cannot pass and some difficult turns, so you better don’t arrive at night. But the area is really beautiful, full of trekking and bike trails, crossing through deep beech and birch forest, and with impressive views of the lakes. there are bikes provided by the municipality in the villages on top, they are free but be aware that they are pretty small and not great. We also got lots of raspberries, and the area in Autumn must be full of chestnuts and mushrooms. You can also visit fortifications and tunnels from 1st World War, and throw yourself down the mountain riding a zip-line which was used in the past to transport the tree trunks downhill. ... in summary great people and lot to do!

Es war ein sehr herzlicher Empfang. Das Haus liegt hoch oben in einem kleinen Ort. Es ist optimal für Leute die Ruhe und Erholung suchen. Kein typischer und nerviger Touristenlärm. Für Familien gut geeignet. Die Stadt, der See und andere Aktivitäten liegen ca. 20 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Auch zum Wandern, Fahrradfahren optimal. Im Haus war alles was man brauchte, bis auf das kleinste Detail vorhanden und an alles gedacht. Viel Platz für mehrere Personen und der Garten ist sehr schön mit seinen Blumen ringsherum, schattiger Sitzplatz und eine tolle Aussicht! Wir wurden sehr gut versorgt, auch als wir dort waren und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir können das Haus und die Gastgeber nur weiterempfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Haus ist sehr schön in einem abgelegenen, ruhigen Bergdorf gelegen. Etwas schwierige Anfahrt (ca. 20 Minuten Serpentinen vom Tal). Super Ausblick, historisch-romantischer Charme des Dorfes, nette Nachbarn und hilfsbereite Dorfbewohner, Haus sehr sauber, trotz Kommunikationshürden (nur italienisch), alles sehr engagiert und herzlich geregelt. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank!!!

Die Wohnung war einwandfrei und sauber. Wir haben uns schnell wohl gefühlt. Es war alles gut eingerichtet. Wenn das Wetter etwas schöner gewesen wäre, hätten wir die 5 Balkone mehr genutzt. Wir wurden von Daniela sehr freundlich in Empfang genommen. Die Herausforderung vom Italienisch sprechen, konnten wir weitgehend mit Ihrem Tablett und der Übersetzung darauf meistern. Die wenigen Menschen in Aurano haben wir als freundlich wahr genommen. Mit einzelnen konnten wir uns auch auf Deutsch, oder Englisch unterhalten. Für uns als grosse Familie war es ein schöner Ort, um zu geniessen und zur Ruhe zu kommen. Da das Wetter während unserer Zeit dort nicht so schön war, sind wir etwas weniger wandern gegangen. Das Zipline (URL HIDDEN) konnten wir bei einem schönen Tag doch noch geniessen. Am Samstag war in Verbania ein schöner, recht grosser Markt. Von Herzen ein grosses Dankeschön an Giuliana für die Möglichkeit, dass wir in diesem schönen Haus Ferien machen konnten!

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Haus lag mitten in den Bergen, wunderschön mit einem unvergleichlichen Ausblick auf die bewaldeten Berge und Täler...ideal zum Ausruhen....Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet mit wunderschönen Möbeln und sehr bequemen Betten....Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt...fast wie zuhause... Es gab nichts was uns gefehlt hat... Nach ein paar Tagen haben wir uns auch an die steile Anfahrt gewöhnt...Vielen Dank, dass wir dort sein durften....

Sehr schönes Historisches Haus im Bergdorf Aurano mit sehr schönen Ausblick und einen schönen Außenbereich mit leckeren Weintrauben. Die Anreise über die schmalen Serpentinen ist abenteuerlich aber es lohnt sich! Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen ins Val Grande. Daniela, die sich um das Haus kümmert ist supernett und hat uns sehr leckeres eingelegtes Gemüse zu Begrüßung geschenkt. Auch die späte Ankunft war kein Problem. Also Fazit: gerne wieder!

We had a very nice stay at the big & comfortable house! The location in the middle of the nature but at the same time close to the lake and Verbania was just perfect! I can fully recommend the house to everybody who search for silence, nature and recreation :)!

Dieser Ort ist sehr authentisch und liegt mitten in det Natur. Es kam sogar eine Ziehe 'hallo' sagen. Die Kinder liebten die Eidechsen und ich den Grill. Der Weg vom See zum Haus ist mit vielen Serpentinen bestückt, was man nach ein paar mal raus hat. Das W-Lan funktionierte anfangs nicht, wurde aber am zweiten Tag gerade behoben. Wir würden diesen ruhigen Ort absolut weiter empfehlen.

We had a lovely time while staying at Guiseppe's. Both Guiseppe and his wife Francesca showed us their great generosity and kindness. After we had arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find a supply of food waiting for us at Guiseppe's. They also supplied us with lots of brochures for many different and spectacular attractions. This gave us the opportunity to visit some of the unique and wonderful local attractions, which we otherwise might not have known about. The apartment was quite big and we had enough room for the nine of us. However, one of the best things about this apartment is not the apartment itself, but the garden that guests can use. It is a big garden with lots of grass and trees. There is enough room to play and relax. The garden also has a nice seating area. Guiseppe and Francesca will help you with any problem that might occur and it will be fixed before you know it. They are extremely kind people who will go through great lengths for their guests. In conclusion, we had a great time and we would recommend Guiseppe's to anyone. You should consider staying there when you want to have a valuable vacation at Lago Maggiore.

Nice and peaceful house near Largo Maggiore. Good place for hikes / excursions. The owner is very sympathetic, warmhearted and accommodating.

book it - go there - recharge your batteries- leave happy and relaxed. :)) make sure to bring anything you might need so you can fully enjoy without driving back to town :) the place is absolutely magical, wow! we loved it

Die Lage ist sehr schön, wenn man ruhe sucht und eine wunderschöne Aussicht geniessen möchte. Der Pool ist gross und lädt zum sonnen ein (es empfiehlt sich Luftmatrazen mitzunehmen, wenn man das mag). Die Grillstelle ist überdacht und es war immer genügend Brennholz vorhanden. Die Veranda ist gross und gemütlich. Im Innenraum ist alles eher dunkel, aber das liegt halt daran, dass es ein Chalet ist. Wir verbrachten die meiste Zeit sowiso im Freien. Abends wird es eher kühl da man fast auf 1000 m über Meer wohnt. Ich empfehle genügend Zeit für die Anreise einzuplanen, denn das Haus liegt nicht direkt im Dorf Caprezzo, sondern ein Stück oberhalb. Ausserdem würde ich per (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Streetview schauen wo es in etwa liegt, da man sonst die Einfahrt des Privatweges fast nicht findet. Alles in allem waren es sehr erholsame Ferien und der Gastgeber war sehr symphatisch und nett. Gerne wieder.
