Every season in the Adelaide Hills has it's own beauty. It's proximity to Adelaide and easy transport routes means you are often in the city faster than if you live in the suburbs. Likewise a lack of traffic and open roads give us easy access to the wine regions and southern beaches making it a great base to get around.

Welcome to Koalaville, in Bridgewater: beautiful in all seasons Wake peacefully to birdsong amongst the trees overlooking the little valley. Open the triangle windows of your small but modern, bright, clean studio room and smell the fresh breeze. Sit outside in the sunshine on a picnic blanket & relax with a book. Talk to our chooks or catch sight of a friendly possum or koala. Explore the gorgeous hills, nearby wineries & Germantown, Hahndorf. Netflix, snuggly electric blankets, aircon.
Need a sweet little tree change amongst nature and wineries? |•The Area•| The Forest Apartment at Bridgewater- nestled between leafy Aldgate and the famous sparkly German town, Hahndorf, is a delight in all seasons: Cooler in summer with an afternoon cool gully breeze that entices you to throw open the windows... Cosy-warm, misty, green and fresh in winter, and bursting with sweetly scented flowers in spring; but the area truly shines in Autumn, with an incredible array of colours and floating leaves. A peaceful retreat, for those who need time away from it all, a rest and recharge, tranquility and a connection to nature, or a reconnection with a loved one. Or for those exhausted by life needing time away, take a long, deep sleep, or a day spent among the soft pillows and cushions with a good book or free unlimited Netflix. Light the little vanilla-scented candles, have a nice hot shower, make a cup of tea (or wine, or port from the intricate port sippers provided)..and rest. For the explorers, so much awaits to be discovered, whether it be a pop out for meal, or a day-trip adventure- scroll down to the bottom for ideas, and a whole folder more await you upon arrival to help plan your adventures. Want to visit wineries but not drive? I might be able to drive you around and know lots of magical places- message me with what you were thinking- great for a surprise or special occasion too. If you are new to air bnb, and sign up by clicking this link, it seems you will get $55 off your first trip if it’s not with us. www.airbnb.com.au/c/kharman5 |•Your Accommodation•| Your apartment- airy, modern and sparkly-clean, consists of a double bed with silky soft sheets and snuggly cushions and pillows; Tv with DVD player (and a selection of DVDS) and all-you-can-eat free Netflix for a quiet night in; and ensuite bathroom. The large picture windows let in plenty of natural light and the space is welcoming and relaxing. At night, the sparkling touch lamps, tea light candles and fairylights provide a warm, soft atmosphere. Cold night? New split system, plenty of soft, snuggly blankets provided, and of course, tea. More types than you could poke a teaspoon at- the way it should be. The apartment is on a different level to the main house, separate and not joined by any internal stairs or doors. Every effort is made to ensure your privacy and peace throughout your stay. We leave it to our guests to initiate meeting us if desired, but are on hand if you were to wish for anything further. Private and secure with key lock and independent check in, you will have your own separate entry down a set of garden stairs, with your own designated off street car park included. Although there isnt a 'kitchen' or kitchenette, you will find a toaster, kettle- electric teapot and selection of tea, coffee (just instant- apologies) and hot chocolate. There is also a microwave and small fridge. We have also provided a bbq with cooktop/stovetop gas burner for your exclusive use under shelter outside your room, with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils provided. You are most welcome to eat in your apartment or take the little dining setting or picnic blanket outside for a garden picnic. As you will be on holidays, there is no need to take out your rubbish or make your bed on the day of checkout - more time to relax and enjoy your stay. A small selection of books, DVDS and games are available to borrow- just ask. We can organize self-cook BBQ breakfast ingredients or a wine and cheese platter for you with a little notice- please asks about our packages. A little minibar is in your room in case of lazy days where you would prefer to relax and have a bottle of wine or snack handy. -An extra special treat if you are staying at the apartment in spring- a small heart shaped meadow for picnics, with 50 daffodils and 600 freesias to sit amongst- you would be welcome to borrow our extra large picnic blanket and picnic set upon request -Although unsuitable for children (one adult and one child sharing the bed has been done often), we have had pairs of friends, singles and mother-daughter pairs stay. |•The Property•| Set on a quarter of an acre in a safe, hillsy and friendly neighborhood, most of the way down a quiet no-through road, Koalaville is perfect if a peaceful and relaxing getaway is what you are after- or a fun filled adventure of food, wine and cheese, as the best wineries are so close by, as is Hahndorf. Great for those who love to get in touch with nature and want to reconnect with each other. The best thing of all are our cute-as-a-button koalas, masquerading as fluffy toys, but making grunting sounds like bears, they sit adorably eating leaves- we recently had a mother, father and baby family living in the gum tree right outside your apartment window- at the moment there is one big one. There are possums-a plenty- Pete, Percy, Pixie and baby Pinkie use the trees as a possum playground, a delight to watch, and ever present. If you hear a little furry thump, it's just them having their night time adventures. Feel free to feed them, they love bread and fruit and are friendly. Fall asleep to frog chorus from the winter creek and pond, and wake peacefully to warbling magpies and singing galahs and sulphur crested cockatoos, the laughing kookaburra sounds echoing across the valley, and the satisfied soft clucking of our hens once they have laid an egg. Watch the pretty parrots and rosellas in the trees while enjoying a cup of tea- we ensure the bird feeder outside your window is topped up to entice the stunning array of birds- stay very still and enjoy a spectacular show. |•The Location•| An easy drive to the city (under half an hour), or take the 'pretty way' as we choose to go; up Greenhill Road or Magill Road, and meander down through the lush Adelaide hills for a gorgeous scenic drive- perhaps stopping along the way to pick up some fresh raspberries, 'lemonade', flowers or produce from children's stalls along the side of the roads. Ensure you drive down our favourite road, Aldgate Valley Road- we loved this road so much, that we approached several property owners to see if they would allow us to hold our wedding ceremony in their garden- we were incredibly lucky to be able to be married at a private property at 10 Aldgate Valley Road- our idea of heaven. Adelaide has gorgeous beaches- Glenelg is less than 40 minutes away, or drive down through the hills to the coast to Goolwa and along the coast through to Victor Harbor and jump on the horse drawn tram (and feed the friendly Clydesdales- they love carrots). For an incredible daytrip, head to Carrickalinga/ Normanville via Meadows- stunning, quiet beaches with dolphins around sunset. °*|•Special Occasion?•|*° Is your stay for a special occasion? Ask about making it extra special for you and surprising your loved one, or making your wedding night magical :) As of February 2018, we have created three different ‘Magic Packages’: -Arrival Surprise Treat -Twilight Magic ‘Secret Fairy’ and -Enchanted night in Or mix and match your own choices. We hope to have a proposal here someday- if you are considering this, let us help make it the most memorable and magical moment possible. |• Cost options•| As many of our guests are from Adelaide or road tripping from the eastern states, we can offer your stay for $30 off if you would like to bring your own towels and linen, if the room hasn’t already been made up. Go ahead and book, let us know at the time of booking, and we will return $30 to you. Want to stay awhile? We’d love to have you, and will give you 20% off when staying a week or longer, and 25% off if staying a month- maybe more for longer stays, give us a message for a chat. ☺️ |• Pets? •| As you can tell, we LOVE animals. One of us significantly more than the other, so I'm hoping my husband won't wade as deeply into my slabs of text as you have, and discover this update *grin*. Although we never allow pets into the apartment to keep the space clean and fresh, we do in our own home: Our cocker spaniel sleeps with her head on my pillow and snores in my ear. So if you have a pet and you can't find anywhere and you want to travel with her instead of putting her in a boarding kennel and she is a cocker spaniel, cavalier, springer, ferret, rabbit, sausage dog, kitten or similar, please let me know and I'll attempt some arm twisting for you. She might be able to sleep up in our bed in the main house too while you are on holiday. |•News•| Ask about our new packages for special occasions - would love to spoil you. -April- a gorgeous Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, who we have affectionately named ‘Bert the Bird’ has been visiting us lately twice a day, and is becoming more and more tame. We are talking to him lots and hoping he will start to talk back soon. The other day he brought along his gorgeous little baby, Bertie. She is very sooky, whines while she eats, and is quite uncoordinated, particularly with her balance and her landings. She is an absolute delight to watch from your window. - March- we have a new powerful split system installed for snuggly winters! - We now have Netflix setup and logged in for you, with chromecast, so that you can lie back, snuggle up and watch all your favourite on the room tv for a lovely weekend in. - We have now had a couple with a baby as well as a mother with a 9 year old boy stay successfully and enjoy their time here. Whilst there is only the one double bed, if you’d like to bring your little one with you, let us know in your message and we can see whether Koalaville might be able to work for you too :) Three baby magpies and two big magpies, just outside the apartment- the babies still have fluffy little bellies, aw. The warbling is amazing. Last night on our drive home, we went down Sturt Valley Road- so beautiful, and deserves a mention for a little drive. We have super fast NBN connected! No more slow internet- hooray! January : Mollie the Koala has had a tiny gorgeous baby- for a short video of she and her baby taken from the garden, the baby tugging at her furry ears, please send your number with spaces between each letter or in words, oh four oh etc, so it doesn't get blocked, and I'll send it to you- it's the cutest thing! Bird photos and descriptions can also be seen by clicking on the photos and scrolling through- the myriad of birds that come to feed at the bird feeder outside the room is delightful- including a few pink-and-grey galahs who, if you sit very still, will cheekily watch you with tilted head. January: Pixie the Possum had a gorgeous little baby, who clings onto her mother via four pawfuls of fur- so beautiful! A hair raising piggy back ride through the trees, and a joy to watch through the windows- we captured a photo of them and included it in the property photos for you to see. |•To do~Activities in the area•| A folder of ideas for exploring the area awaits you in your apartment- fun activities for the area include: -Pick your own strawberries at Beerenberg Farm and taste the incredible chutneys, jams and spreads on offer- they are just past Hahndorf and entry is only $4 including eating as many strawberries as you can manage! - Walk and explore- there are plenty of walking trails in Bridgewater and in and around the nearby tourist town of Hahndorf. Even walking through the roads of Aldgate is the most relaxing and beautiful experience. - Stirling, Aldgate and Crafers villages nearby have great cafes, shops and pubs. We highly recommend and love the Stirling Hotel- great atmosphere including live acoustic music often. - Bike riding- Adelaide hills is great for this, as it is part of the Tour Downunder circuit- we also have the beautiful Amy Gillett Bikeway, running along Woodside and Oakbank, past some lovely wineries and the Melba's Chocolate factory- bikes available on request- notice needed for this to ensure they are in perfect working order for you. -Visit the monthly Stirling Laneways markets Sundays in Stirling- "The award-winning Stirling Laneways is more than a market. • Vores ophold på Koalaville var hinsides fantastisk! Kylie var sådan en fantastisk vært og sørget for vores ophold var alt, hvad vi håbede på. Faciliteter var store og visningen ud af vinduet var smukt. Koalaville er et malerisk og magisk sted at bo i Bridgewater.

    Emma2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
Dejligt lille sted at bo!

    Linda2019-02-18T00:00:00Z

At the Mylor Farm we're transforming a secluded cottage with beautiful gum forest nestled beside a creek into the ultimate farm getaway. We have an established veggie and herb garden, as well as fruit orchard that is 18 months old! We have recent additions of a secret garden with tree fort, cut flower beds and further country garden. Over 15 acres all to yourself and your family - use it as a retreat or a base for exploring the wonderful Adelaide Hills.
Did you ever wish there was a place close to the city where you could go to get away from it all? Our farm is just the place. Just 25 minutes from the Adelaide CBD, yet a whole world away. The cosy stone cottage has three bedrooms tastefully furnished with queen sized beds and soft freshly laundered linen. There is a fireplace to snuggle up to and read a book. A kitchen with stocked pantry to cook your own food and a large dining table to enjoy meals with family and friends. Relax and enjoy the view from the delightful lounge whilst listening to a record. Outside is an abundance of fauna, including visiting kangaroos and koalas. For the birders, we have documented over 40 species of birds. Walk around and explore the woodlands with its wildflowers. Try your hand fishing from the creek, or bring a dish and pan for gold! If you want to be active, our vegetable garden is seasonal, and you'd be welcome to help out. We also have further gardens around the house and a secret garden near our treehouse. Other activities include hiking the Heysen Trail, mountain and road biking, and of course enjoying the local produce, especially the famous local wineries.
Hiking, mountain biking, and fishing are at your doorstep. A little further down the road is Mylor, a small village in the Adelaide Hills. It is surrounded by over 60 wineries with some of the best cool-climate wines in Australia. The Adelaide Hills is known for its weekend farmers' markets, with artisan and local produce.

The local hotel, Bridgewater Inn, is relaxed with an incredible menu. Set beside a flowing creek. In the beginning of the warmer months the sounds of frogs and sight of ducks, and locals strolling on walking paths is so relaxing and dreamy. There is also the cute Bridgewater Greengrocer and Cafe, where you can get some nice organic produce and have a snack and tea/coffee(next door to Coles). Stirling is a beautiful little town with great cafes and shopping boutiques. The historic German inspired Hahndorf is just a few short minutes away. And nature reserves and walking trails surround the property. Of course, very nearby is Cleland National Park where you can hand feed kangaroos, and have your picture taken with a koala. Warrawong Sanctuary houses some protected Australian Native animals. Monarto Zoo is just up the freeway, where you can tour in a bus amongst giraffes, lions, and other wild animals.

Absolut anbefale opholder sig her!

Bedre end at gå ud. Nød roen siddende ud på haven balkonen og sov godt i super comfy seng. Et fredeligt og forfriskende ophold.

Our stunning open apartment/studio has been described as a treehouse or "outside inside house". It is made of recycled Australian hardwood, extensive wall to ceiling windows, and all modern furniture and utilities and beautiful garden.
This studio/apartment is a 'slice of heaven' and one half of a split level house with its' own separate entrance and patio. It is a Glenn Murcutt inspired wool shed jarrah pole framed house perched over Cox's Creek. It is made from hardwood, glass and corrugated iron. It has been described as an outside inside house as you are never sure where the house begins. It is at one with nature. It has its own entrance with beautiful elevated views of surrounding gardens, creek and lily pond. It is an 'escape for all seasons' in the very heart of Stirling. The creek that flows underneath can be heard gurgling below for 8-10 months of the year along with the frogs
Stirling is a beautiful leafy village close to Adelaide. It was originally the "Hills" retreat for the early English aristocracy and is one of the few places in the world where you are in a pristine micro- climate surrounded by nature (no fences) and only 20 minutes to the centre of the city. The village of Stirling has a wide cuisine range of well priced restaurants sourcing produce from nearby farms. You can also have the joy of supping on organic coffee or chilli hot chocolates at one of the many cafes that infuse the village. It is a visitors joy and one of Adelaide's best kept secrets that has been let out of the bag. Many people from' The Plains'come up to Stirling to enjoy The Organic Market, buy fresh produce and shop in some unique homeware/clothing and furniture shops or visit many of the splendid wineries. Every month Stirling houses an award winning local market. It has around 80 stalls, which make, bake, grow or value add to the products sold. If you enjoy being outside, the Adelaide Hills abounds with some of the best bike riding paths, walking trails and artists inspired landscapes . Hans Heysen's home "The Cedars" is a 10 minute drive. The Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens only a hop, skip and jump away. The Hills houses many boutique shopping and gallery experiences. We are within walking distance of the Coventry Library, Stirling pub, restaurants and shops.

Tak for vores korte ophold Alister & Adrienne. Skulle ønske det kunne have været længere.

    John2019-10-15T00:00:00Z

Idyllic light filled two storey cottage. High skylight, charming country character and delightful contemporary stylish decor. For singles, couples or 2 couples. Wonderfully appointed kitchen with stainless steel European appliances and 2 living areas. French doors lead out to a sweeping verandah with views out over Cox’s Creek tributary and the Bridgewater Valley. Downstairs, a converted cellar lounge replete with original beams and steel lintels, pot belly and contemporary art work.
Located a stones throw from the Heysen Trail, historical Hahndorf, autumn splendour in Stirling and Aldgate and shopping facilities in the quaint town of Bridgwater. For nature lovers, wine and food lovers, history explorers, or those just wanting a romantic and tranquil hide away. Or take a drive down to watch the whales at Port Elliot, a speculator drive to the coast 50 mins away. Explore the nearly one acre garden replete with the original stone wall terracing that the early Italian families of the valley built when creating this valley of orchards. Leading down to the creek with everpresent frogs you will find apricot, nectarine, peach, lime and lemon fruit trees, towering gums which often are a home for the resident koala population, or enjoy a cuppa under the shady old plum tree bordered by agapanthus, Japanese maple and hydrangeas. If you put seed out on the verandah bird feeders ( which we provide for you) you are likely to be visited by local parrots, cockys and corellas. Yours hosts Alex and Kylie have established this beautifully appointed tranquil retreat with whitewashed walls, original floorboards, individualised pieces of art and furniture pieces selected for the stories they tell of the diverse culture of the region. We want nothing more than for you to spend the day exploring all that the beautiful Adelaide Hills have to offer, knowing at the end of the day you can relax back and enjoy the comfort, charm and cosiness of this delightful cottage that will feel like a home away from home .
We love the Cog Coffee shop, recently setup by a few enterprising young people and has fast become a local hub inside the warm four walls of the renovated stone barn and outside on Friday nights around the pizza oven and superb culinary skills of our local chef identities. It’s an enjoyable 5 minute walk from Smithfield Cottage along the meandering Heysen Trail which hugs Coxs Creek. On a hot summers day you can even take a dip in the always flowing and locally famous water hole. And right next door to The Cog is the fine dining experience of the historic Bridgewater Mill. A five minute drive to the famous streets of Germanic history on Hahndorf, the Hahndorf Hill Winery and Prancing Pony Brewery. For art lovers, Hans Heysens Gallery and Aptoz Cruz Gallery. For cheese lovers, Udder Delights! Other favs for cafe lovers include Fred’s Eatery in Aldgate and the Organic Cafe in Stirling. But what really makes this location so awesome is the warm and welcoming local community... only 20 mins from Adelaide CBD yet with the friendliness of a village community. Sophistication for food and wine and art lovers, yet ability to don hiking boots and explore the nearby creek trails. We know you will love your stay!

This is more than a regular Airbnb stay - this is your chance to experience the Australian bushland in a glamorous bell tent. Your chance to 'glamp' - glamorous camp! Nestled in Crafers in the stunning Adelaide Hills - less than a 20 min drive from the centre of Adelaide, we are also a few min drive from the famous German village of Hahndorf. Our beautiful bell tent is the perfect base to visit, Adelaide, the fabulous Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale wineries.
UPDATE If your dates are not available we have a second tent on the property www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/35316483 Set on a 3 acre bushland block (we live in the main residence) our bells tents are furnished to a high standard with new queen beds, luxurious cotton sheets, carpets, rugs, and of course fairy lights. Sit out under the stars and watch out for our resident koalas who visit every few days, the shy echidna who lives near our post box (he's a bit hard to spot!) and of course the kangaroos, possums and kookaburras who like to come out at dusk and dawn. Please don't expect manicured lawns and gardens - this is a little peace of real Australian bushland. A chance to experience nature but still be close to the city. We have a nice, clean camping toilet in its own shed or you are welcome to use our home toilet and bathroom if you prefer. Tents are completely waterproof, well ventilated and we provide you with a bbq, all your cooking utensils and outdoor eating areas (sorry no open fires as it's very dry and it's against the law to have a fire at this time of year in case it starts a bushfire). We also hire our tents out to be set up in National Park Campsites and regular campsites (you choose the pitch and we set everything up for your arrival and take it down when you depart).
We are a 10 min drive from the bottom of the freeway and less than 20 min from the centre. We are a few minutes drive from Mount Lofty Summit (lookout over the whole of Adelaide), Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens (these are beautiful!) and the Cleland Conservation Park (where you can cuddle a koala). The famous German village of Hahndorf is a 10 minute drive - it's a great place to order German beer (or Australian) and eat some good German food. Adelaide city is about 25 min bus ride (we can drop you at bus terminal if you don't have a car) and if you're getting the bus to Melbourne it stops here too! In fact the buses from Crafers can take you all over the Adelaide Hills. The gorgeous beaches of Adelaide are about 25 minutes away. We are surrounded by bushland and vineyards and great places to eat. Quaint villages of the Adelaide Hills including Stirling, Aldgate and Bridgewater (with its historic mill and pretty beer garden by the river) are only a few minutes away. McLaren Vale, the famous wine region is less than a half hour drive too, so with us as your base, you will be able to see so much. Oh yes, I forgot to say that if you are a keen cyclist this area is where the Tour Down Under rides though. So lots of amazing scenery to see on your bike. And a big downhill cycle to the city (much of it on a bike path).

This is an off-grid, self-sufficient, self contained, Earthship studio apartment in the semi-rural Adelaide Hills, 45min drive from the CBD. Guests will experience a unique stay with a tiny eco-footprint. Close to Adelaide Hills wineries, golf course, bush-walks and other tourist attractions. The Freney family live next door in a passive solar strawbale home - close by if you need advice on sailing the "ship". A place where you can experience the future of sustainable housing!
Guests will need to respect the limitations of the off-grid systems for power, water and sewage and take care with the natural building finishes. The queen size bed is a 100% latex futon mattress, low to the ground so it may be difficult to get in and out of bed if you are elderly. Sheets are luxurious 1200 TC pure cotton. Delicious vegetarian breakfast ingredients, including free range eggs and honey from the property, supplied (but not prepared/served). Kitchen includes double gas burner, under bench fridge (with tiny freezer compartment), microwave and wood oven which is great for making pizzas (although not recommended for use during summer months). Fire wood is supplied from May to October.
The neighbourhood is semi-rural with lots of small "farms" where people raise chooks and grow fruit, veg, and flowers. You are likely to see and hear native animals such as kangaroos and koalas. Local attractions include wineries, golf courses, restaurants and bush walking trails.

En oplevelse at have haft.

Aldgate, Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australien

Come and visit the Adelaide Hills and stay in a cosy, fully renovated 1969 vintage caravan with all the amenities you could want, nestled deep in the glorious Sturt Valley. You'll be surrounded by wildlife on a working permaculture-focussed farm, on the banks of the Sturt River away from the noise of the city and in one of the states premier wine producing regions.
The Adelaide Hills may be one of the most picturesque and romantic destinations in Australia, and that is exactly what we aimed to encapsulate when we decided to convert our little old caravan into a fully self-contained cabin and share a little part of our paradise with the rest of the world. Today, our cabin sits snugly just metres from the banks of the Sturt River and is a perfect retreat for couples or just those looking for a little escape from the world. Whether you're looking for a cosy base from which to explore the hills, you want to shut yourself in with plenty of coffee and a shelf of good books, or you just want to get a taste of life in this wonderful part of the world, a few nights in our little cabin might be just the answer. A little extra info: I'd best describe our property as a working hobby farm: We keep chickens and ducks, and occasionally, goats, sheep, or alpacas. We keep bees and we grow a lot of our own food. We follow many of the principles of permaculture, and the functional aspects of regenerative agriculture can often override the beauty of manicured lawns and weed-free gardens - though we do try our best. The cabin also has a small footprint, to keep things functional and cosy (not cramped) the toilet and shower facility is just outside the door and across the deck, and due to the proximity to the waterway, a compost/chemical toilet was the only reliably eco-friendly option - imagine a quiet, more spacious airplane bathroom, just out in nature a little. It's not uncomfortable - in fact, most people say it adds to the experience - but it is unique, and I want to be as forthcoming as I can be. When you arrive, you'll find a small welcome pack which will contain some simple instructions on how to use it, along with a bunch of other information on how to maximise your cabin experience. We don't offer a prepared breakfast option, as we are often not around with any certainty, but upon request, we can supply you with everything you need to prepare your own. This does incur a small fee, but we are happy to oblige. Perhaps you just want some locally sourced fruit and yoghurt, or you'd like to whip up some bacon and eggs fresh from the coop you can see from your bedroom window. Just let us know ahead of time and we will get you set up.
We are situated deep in the Sturt Valley, down a quiet windy road headed to nowhere. Traffic is rare. Birds, Koalas, Possums, Bandicoots, our posse of chickens and ducks, and the quaint, gurgling of the Sturt River outside the window makes up the soundtrack of our little hideaway in the hills. Enjoy the sounds of nature or have a go at the ukulele, the choice is yours.

This rustic cottage is perfect for a backpacking couple, friends or young family looking for budget accommodation in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.
It has a queen bed, loft area, options for a child in the main area, cozy sitting & dining area, kitchen, en-suite bathroom, desk, TV, DVD, CD player & BBQ. Spend your days exploring the local area, relax on the porch with a glass of local wine and in the summer months, finish off with a dip in the pool (located near the main home). The Cottage is located in Crafers West which gives you the best of both worlds – a quiet country setting surrounded by native Australian animals yet only 10 minutes by car to the bottom of the freeway and less than 20 minutes to the CBD. Having your own vehicle will make it easier to get around but there is a major bus interchange in Crafers with multiple services running to the city or further into the hills allowing you to visit historic towns, tourist attractions and the Adelaide Hills wine region. It’s also great news if you are travelling from Melbourne by bus as Crafers is a scheduled stop.
Local Attractions Crafers has a lovely historic hotel, Jimmies Restaurant – known for its wood fired pizza, a post office, gourmet deli, service station and take away food options including pizza and Indian. Just a short drive or ride from the Cottage is the Eagle Mountain Bike Park. Mt Lofty is less than a 10 minute drive from Crafers and the best place to get a birds-eye view of Adelaide. It is famous for the Waterfall Gully to Summit Hike and has Cleland Wildlife Park and Botanic Gardens nearby. Stirling is one of the most picturesque villages in the hills and less than 10 minutes from The Cottage. You can wander the tree-lined streets, browse book stores, have a coffee at one of the many cafes, enjoy a great meal on the deck of the Stirling Hotel and from September to April enjoy the local street markets (fourth Sunday of each month). Hahndorf is a State Heritage listed German town that attracts visitors from all over Australia and the world. You can indulge in German fare and enjoy the diverse shopping experience. Adelaide Hills Wine Region saw the first vineyards established in 1840. It is now a highly regarded area producing a range of excellent red and white wines with various events to celebrate their success.

A stylish suite in a country character house with exposed beams, high ceilings all with your own private entrance. There's a lounge room with a kitchen and dining area, a separate bedroom and a bathroom. It is in the main house but is accessible only via its own entrance. It's a 5 minute walk to Hahndorf's historic main street where you can enjoy amazing restaurants and cafes.
Uniquely designed to capture elements of yesteryear and beautifully balanced with modern touches. Wide timber floorboards, lofted ceilings with dark feature beams and limestone rendering complete the country charm. Reverse cycle air conditioning, WiFi access, smart TV and contemporary art and furnishing bring the room into the 21st century. The room is very quiet, private and block out curtains will ensure a good sleep in whilst on holiday. The room has a private access down the side path and cannot be accessed directly from the house allowing guests complete privacy. A 400m walk down a charming street takes you to the main street of Hahndorf.
The property is a beautiful street with large gum trees and even some cows at the end of the road. Hahndorf was first settled in 1839 by German immigrants. Many of the historic buildings are well preserved and can be seen in the main street. Hahndorf is a great place to be based whilst exploring the Adelaide Hills, with the Barossa Valley to the north and McLaren Vale to the South.

Privacy, luxury and romance is waiting here to spoil you and it's all been refurbished with new bathrooms, a new kitchen and painted freshly throughout! "Superb! The Villa is exquisitely presented. Every detail has been thought of. Thank you for what was a very relaxing stay." Guest Comment
The Adelaide Hills is truly a wonderful destination! The many (and top quality!) Wineries that are dotted around us, are a fabulous experience. Gin Distilleries are now popping up locally too, which adds a new dimension to tourism experiences here. Hahndorf is a 7 minute drive from us, which if you are interested, Hans Heysen's house and studio is well worth investigating. Wow, and I haven't even mentioned all the restaurants! The Lane, Bridgewater Mill and Maximillians, have to be on your "Must Do" fine dining list. Goldings, Sidewood, Shaw & Smith, Nepenthe, Pike & Joyce, Anderson HIll, really in my opinion are fabulous Winery experiences and would make a great day out! There is a Tourist Information Centre right in the heart of Hahndorf, and the friendly volunteers there will help you plan other wonderful Adelaide Hills experiences! The Hills are a fabulous base to explore other regions too... We are 30 minutes to Adelaide and within one hours drive of: * The famous Barossa Valley * McLaren Vale Wine Districts * Victor Harbor and Beaches * The meandering River Murray * Adelaide Airport * Conservation parks * Open gardens * Historic Hahndorf * Wineries and cellar doors * Numerous restaurants and tea rooms * Antique shops * Galleries * Craft studios * Nurseries * Golf courses, and scenic drives

    Emma2019-06-30T00:00:00Z

Three bedrooms (queen, double and single). Wood combustion heater as well as a split system, oil heaters, and an equipped country kitchen. Outdoor eating and lounge and wifi.
Built between 1840and 1860 as a market gardens cottage, there are 4 original cottages sharing this area and a single well, gates and steps still connect them. This area was chosen because of its high fertility.
