Brighton is the most enchanting, exciting, extraordinary seaside city in Britain. However brazen that may sound, it is no exaggeration.
With its cosmopolitan air, oodles of restaurants, feverish nightlife and abundance of culture for visitors and locals, the place defies comparison with anywhere else this side of the English Channel.
For centuries it has been regarded as a 'pleasure dome', and that's not about to change. If you love life, welcome to Brighton and Hove.
The apartment is offered as a whole residence for your use only
We live locally should you need any assistance or recommendations
The apartment is on the 3rd floor. There are neighbours next door and below. We ask guests to respect the neighbours by keeping noise to a low level. No parties.
The host was very nice, helpful and on time. They even provided a travel cot free of charge! Perfect location and lovely see view! What could be improved? The whole apartment needs freshening up (lick of pain, kitchen, windows, bath seal, etc...), it feels dated although the pictures look really contemporary. There should be an electric kettle to replace the stove kettle as it takes time to boil and feel a bit clumsy. Also, we only found out when we got there that the double bed was in the big bedroom and the 2 twins in the small bedroom (really close together): worth knowing if coming with friends. I would recommend it without a problem though.
Jan had left maps and info on the local restaurants and places to visit which I thought was a nice touch, on arrival we were late but keys and instructions were there waiting for us ! The apartment was perfectly placed and lovely and clean with everything you'd need for a short stay and enough room for our family of four. The location was ideal, a short stroll to the beach, pier and local parks also the Same to the lanes where there's a host of ships and restaurants. Only slight negative was fire alarm went off around 8pm on last night but was sorted in around 2 minutes(one of the other flats must have set it off and sorted it)
All in all a great stay and would definitely stay there again
I didn't meet Jan, but we kept in touch on check-in day and everything was as arranged. Bit of a trek up the stairs with the luggage but the apartment was great and so close to the sea front which makes all the difference. The facilities were pretty much as described, and for the money I felt I got a good deal. Jan was quick to respond to any texts and gave advice about the area where needed, I'd definitely consider using one of her properties again.
One thing to bear in mind, and shouldn't be any reflection of the accommodation, is that in Brighton the parking is awful. I was able to park for free about 15 minutes' walk away from the apartment, but on the first day I used an NCP car park (which was £26 for just over four hours) and with 4pm traffic took AN HOUR to drive it back from the car park along 400 metres of sea front to be able to drop our bags off! I'll definitely plan that part more carefully in advance. More irritatingly, the car park next door to the NCP one was about £13 for the same duration(!) so don't drive blindly into the first car park you see!
The place was great! The view, the location. We had a great time. They left maps and recommendations for us, super helpful. Thanks Jan!
The flat is in an excellent location and we were met by the hosts upon arrival. The beds were comfortable and clean.
