To not just add to all the kudos Antonio, his place and Montepertuso already got, I want to share our personal experiences. First of all, this was not the first time we were in Positano, we have ben here before and brought our kids. Back then, we decided, we have to come back, without them. So we did. We're 48 and 49. We wanted to be close to the beautiful Positano, without having to deal with the massive amount of tourists frequenting the place in July. We were looking for a place where we could retreat after a day of hiking, sight seeing and the occasional beach day. Antonio's place in Montepertuso could not be more perfect. The place might be simple, but it's clean and it has everything you need. It's a five minutes walk up to a small square where you will find a very good grocery shop selling great wines, great local ham, cheese and whatever else you might fancy. There's two restaurants on the square, and for both of them, people are willing to come from far. We dined at both and decided that Casa Rosa is our favourite. Simple but honest food, great flavoured, a great wine selection - splendid service and at a great price. There's 1200 steps (yes we counted them) down to Positano. The first time, if you're not used to take them and or of age, like we are, calculate it to take 25 minutes and bring water. Your legs will feel shaky after five, but it will pass. Up, as you can imagine, is somewhat more hard. But it's a great workout and afterwards you feel you really have deserved the great food served at Casa Rosa ;-) Don't let the stairs shy you away, after two days, you get used to them. There's a bus driving rom Positano - stopping right in front of Antonio's place. But you will find it crowded. If you're into narrow roads close to breath taking mountain ridges, you might rent a car but personally, we experienced you don't need it. While the busses are unreliable and slow, there are so many other ways to get around. There's ferries to Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri and even Napels. Taxi's are very reliable, pleasant and a fast form of transportation. Most drivers you will experience are locals who are happy to give you great tips. I regretted not renting a bike. Not because we needed the transportation, but it's a great area for biking. Getting around on the coast, takes time and patience. If you can't mobilise patience, it will spoil your experience. Highlights of our trip were definitely a visit to Ravello and a boat trip to and around Capri. Antonio's place for us was a great experience because of two reasons. First of all, the place itself was the refugium we were looking for. Clean, well equipped, stunning views both from the terrace and the bed room. Secondly, Antonio, who's extremely welcoming and who surprised...

We loved this Airbnb apartment, it was spotless, cozy and had the most beautiful view of the sea. For couples or families who like to be away from the hustle of Positano and prefer to wake up to the sounds of the birds, this is perfect for you. We had breakfast on the patio in the sun almost every morning as the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, Antonio had also left us with milk, butter and fruits in the house to enjoy! If you rent a car like we did, there is a road that is just about 130 steps above the apartment, which takes no time at all. It also makes for a cozy stay with Antonio and his family living just beside, so if there are any problems at all they are always there to help! Definitely would recommend this house to anyone who is visiting this area of Italy :)

What a gorgeous view!!! We stayed for 4 nights and loved being in Montepertuso above Positano. The apartment is adorable, and perfect for a couple. There are a lot of stairs getting to and from the apartment (about 160 steps from bus stop to front door) and then one flight up to bedroom. We walked down to Positano twice. First time just going left down the stairs outside the gate to the apartment. Took about an hour and 30 minutes down to the sea front with lots of picture stops. I think this was a little more picturesque than the way down from the main path. Second day we missed the bus and had to make it for our Capri boat. 50 minutes to the boat dock from the apartment for these two fat Americans. I can't say enough how beautiful the views are coming down. Only takes about 15 minutes on the bus. Il Ritrivo in Montepertuso is a little pricey, but incredible. The bar, Il Pertuso is quite reasonably priced and has good pizza served after 7pm. There is a grocery store there that we shopped at often. If you want to experience the beauty and charm of the Amalfi coast and are able to climb stairs do not hesitate to book this apartment. Experiencing the small town ambiance and quiet above the busier Positano made our stay so much more enjoyable. Was a wonderful place to stay. Angelo was great with check in and helped us book the perfect boat tour and arranged a car service for when we left. I hope someday to return!

La casa é bellissima. La abbiamo ricevuta in perfette condizioni. È molto completa. Ha tutto quello che potreste aver bisogno. Ci ha ricevuto Angelo che è gentilissimo. Il check out semplice.

Antonio's place in Montepertuso was a beautiful haven to stay in. It was quiet and the view was spectacular . Antonio and Angelo couldn't have been more helpful with restaurant bookings and recommendations, transfers and bus timetables. I would highly recommend staying there.

(good instructions below on how to get to the flat your first time) I cannot believe my vacation is over and how wonderful our accommodations were at Antonio's place. The communication prior to our stay was fantastic by the caretaker, Angelo, and he helped us find the apartment after we got on the bus - which was a bit tricky as it was my first time in Italy. The flat was quiet, clean, and I've never slept better. The upstairs bedroom was so perfect and the apartment had plenty of accommodating appliances and gadgets to make us feel at home. While Montepertuso is away from all the hustle and bustle of Positano, it doesn't feel so remote that you can't easily hop a bus back down. There was a local grocery market right up the hill where we could buy plenty of bus tickets, water and snacks. The surrounding restaurants were all great and Angelo even arranged a shuttle for us up to La Terra on my birthday so I could dress up and wear high heels without wrecking my feet. We did walk down the steps one day back into Positano and while it was a fun experience, I wasn't eager to repeat it. It's A LOT of steps :) Getting there: If you're brand new to Positano, these directions should help you find your way up to the flat for the first time. Once you are up there, getting back down is really easy. When you get off the ferry or you arrive at the port, take the stairs that go up to the right through the many shops. If you're walking through an allergy with street vendors after about 5 minutes, you're going the right way. The main bus stop closest to the port is busy, but it is the closest and that's important with luggage. The Collina Bakery (great place to get coffee!) is right. Y the main. Is stop. Going up runs every 20 minutes past the hour and going down runs every 40 minutesminites past the hour. Take the bus up about 12-15 minutes until you take a very deliberate fork to the right to Montepertuso. Be sure to ring the buzzer before the Grado stop and hop off. Angelo met us and even let us check in early, such a nice guy.
