A welcoming & peaceful retreat in the north of the Dordogne. Surrounded by beautiful villages with a different market to visit daily. Come home & cook in the classic French kitchen, or go for a drive & discover a restaurant. Beautiful walks abound. This is a majestic and rustic classic farmhouse; not a 5 star resort. Come and enjoy the country and be prepared to connect with nature. This property is for sale.
Our beautifully renovated 19th century stone country house with swimming pool sits in a wonderful wooded location on the edge of a village. This property is also for sale.
The property is full of character and charm inside and out. We renovated to a high standard five years ago whilst maintaining the authentic features.
Inside we have three impressive fireplaces, exposed beams and gorgeous stone walls.
The rooms are all spacious and well-decorated. With four double bedrooms , a bathroom/WC with lovely claw foot bath downstairs, a shower room and separate toilet upstairs.
In the well-landscaped 8,000 m² garden is an in-ground swimming pool with Roman stairs and there is a natural pond.
The views from this dream-location across the nearby forest are magical. Listen for the cuckoo birds and woodpeckers.
There are electric radiators throughout, plus wood burners in the kitchen, living room and dining room.
The roof is insulated and the thick stone walls provide natural insulation.

Love country lifestyle, cooking, fine wine and cognac. Slow food by the fire and long walks in the forest by the creeks and lakes. Markets, and cooking up a feast with the local produce; slow food by the fire and fine music. Living in Australia and yearning to be in Reilhac more regularly to get the vegie patch going again.
