This is a wonderfully cosy and comfortable cottage, fully equipped with everything you might possibly need. Hindon is a quiet and quant village with a fascinating history, and if it's walking you're after you have found the right place. There are beautiful walks all around the villqge into the surrounding spectacular and unspoilt countryside, and there are plenty of maps and guides at the cottage to help you plan a trek. Whatever your reason for coming to Hindon, Jilly's place will provide the most relaxing and comfortable accomodation. Five stars really doesn't do it justice, but that's the max so I'm very happy to rate it as such. Thanks Jilly!

This is a super base for exploring a lovely area. we had family pre-occupations this time but still managed to get to Shaftesbury (lovely market on Thursdays) and Stourhead. The cottage is very comfortable and homely. everything worked well (except the hairdryer which I am confident Jilly will sort) and moreover was straightforward - no endless perusing of how to turn the cooker on....Plenty of logs for the stove, milk and biscuits on arrival. The internet access was fine though we had no mobile phone signal. But there is a landline. The garden at the back is steep and not dog proof, at least not for our little ones. there are excellent dog walks straight out of the door and a lovely village shop. The lamb is a lovely pub, unfortunately the kitchen was closed during our stay, but that only temporary. We highly recommend!

Lovely characterful, cosy cottage in the village of Hindon. Excellent communication from Jilly prior to our visit. The cottage had everything we needed to make our stay a real pleasure. Hindon has a couple of nice pubs and a village shop in easy walking distance. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Our stay in the lovely village of Hindon was very enjoyable. The stone Beckford cottage provided us with a cozy resting place after our delightful days exploring the many places of interests within easy reach from this particular area of beautiful Wiltshire. Coming back to our welcoming cottage and a wood fire after a brisk local walk, a day exploring the city of Bath, a stroll through Stourhead Garden, or a tour of Salisbury Cathedral (to name just a few of our many adventures) created delightful conclusions to our days. I should add that several local pubs are in the Best Pub Guide and the local shop is well stocked! Communication with Jilly and her husband was excellent. Both were responsive to our questions. We knew they were always at hand if we had any needs. If you want to stay local or experience some of the beauty and historical riches of the wider Southwest England this cottage would be an excellent choice.
